WOYWW

Good morning all.

I hope the wind and rain of the last few days hasn't posed too many problems for you. The River Severn is quite high but our weather hasn't been too bad.

We had a chilly but interesting day visiting the Shrewsbury Flaxmill this week.

It was the first factory building in the world to be built with an iron frame. Initially it was a flaxmill for spinning raw flax to thread. Then later it became a maltings for the brewery.

It's been beautifully renovated and now houses a super exhibition centre. Various floors of the building are now rented as office space. It is run by English Heritage.

My crafty activity has been an attempt to use up some of the donated fabric.

I made some tote bags using curtain fabric...

I think it's made good use of the fabric rather than let it go to waste.

Of course, I'm also keeping going with a few little creme egg covers - also for the children's cancer charity...

They are quick to make and use up some of that huge yarn stash lurking in my cupboard.

The rest of our week will be taken up with birthday celebrations for my hubby. Where do the years go?!

Best wishes to Neet, I hope you are feeling a bit better.

Have a good week all

I hope your hubby has a good birthday! Glad you escaped the worst of the weather. the mill looks a good space - great to see it being used for something other than turned into flats which would probably happen here! Happy WOYWW Helen #2

It always makes me happy to see buildings like that being reused. Pleased you had a great time. The weather 's been a bit wet and dull here but looks as though it might be a bit better today. Love your bags and the chicks and ducks are so cute. Happy woyww, Angela x11x

What a brilliant space that old mill is, perfect for exhibitions etc etc! Loving what you’re doing with that fabric, your placing of the designs is very satisfying. The crème egg covers are fun too, and so quick to run up. Happy birthday to your G, hope you have a nice time celebrating!
