WOYWW

Happy WOYWW!

I have a tumble of hearts just waiting to go to the end of life support group at the hospital. I love knitting these. They are easy to do and use up odd yarn leftovers.

Most of my week was spent getting Tilly's stock priced and packed for the new season at The Bog Centre, Stperstones in Shropshire. She has some beautiful pictures and small items so I am sure they will sell well

The other major achievement was to fix my friend's sewing machine. I always clean out the bobbin case etc first...

Quite a pile of fluff was clogging it but it still wouldn't move to the zig zag setting. So I had a quick Google (LLJ!) one of the help sites suggested warming any moving parts with a hair dryer.

Once I had stopped laughing I took the side panel off the machine and did just that. I warmed it gently, put it all back together and Yahoo! It worked. All the fancy stitches worked beautifully so I was a happy bunny and I know my friend will be thrilled.😀

So that's it for this week

Enjoy the sunshine.

That's a neat trick with the hairdryer - sounds like it should be an April Fool! Love the hearts, what a great way to use up odd scraps of wool. Happy WOYWW Helen #1

Well, what can I say??! No wonder you’ve always got a smile on your face! *Grin*. I shall try that myself if I never need to, regarding my machine, of course….titter….. Actually that was a lot of fluff you retrieved from the innards, no wonder the poor machine was struggling. Those little hearts are so sweet, such a nice idea and a good stash buster too - win win xx

Well done with the sewing machine, it’s surprising how much fluff collects hidden away. You saved the owner a fee for getting it seen to. Happy WOYWW. Angela #11

The hearts are lovely and it's such a nice thing to receive. The hospital sent us one on a card when my father was ill during Covid and I still have it. Fixing the sewing machine reminded me of doing the same for a friend of mine, it feels really good when it works as they are so pleased. When I was teaching Textiles it was the only way I could keep the machines working as they cut back on having them serviced though that was only once a year and the machines were in constant use every day. Take care and have a good woyww, hugs Angela x9x

Hello Jo, those hearts are gorgeous and they do give a lot of comfort to the recipients. I still have Alan's and will treasure it forever. I'm amazed at the amount of fluff found in the bobbin case and even more amazed that a hairdryer was the answer to the problem with the sewing machine. That's a trick to remember. I hope your daughter has a very successful summer season. Have a lovely week. Hugs, Ellie x #13

As I didn't get around everyone last week I thought I would try and be early this - it may just be your Wednesday still but it is already my Thursday morning! Maybe I need to clean out my bobbin case etc... Love all those little hearts. Happy WOYWW! Susan #15

So the tip was good after all (waring the parts with a hairdryer).
Gosh there was some 'muck' in that machine, I used to love poking about in my old one.
