WOYWW

I just wanted to share this beauty with you all this week.

Ben planted the Amaryllis with me a few weeks ago and of course it took off like a rocket growing over a cm a day. Each time he came we measured it and made a graph to mark it's amazing progress.

This week the two big buds burst into bloom. The first one has 5 flowers and the second one has 4 slightly smaller ones. It stands proudly at about 55cms!

Isn't nature wonderful.

With all the misery around I just love how this cheery, bright red bloom brings such pleasure.

No crafty activity this week although I have nearly finished 2 more hoodies and Tilly and I cleared her exhibition so, hopefully, she will get a little post Christmas boost to her funds.

I hope you are managing to avoid the bug and the snow. It's colder here today but at least we had stunning sunshine and blue skies as we drove past the Stretton Hills yesterday.

Have a good week all.

x Jo

Beautiful flower with a good number of flowers. The ones I have had only had one flower that was so tall it was in danger of falling over all the time! Happy New Year. Angela #1

Happy 2022 lovely gal, hope the year is full of fun and crafting! That is one magnificent plant, you definitely have green fingers, I remember growing amarylliseseseses (sorry, couldn’t stop there…) years ago but they weren’t as glorious as that!
Keep safe and well, must catch up soon,

That is just amazing! The flowers are gorgeous but I must admit I do find them a bit creepy the way they grow so fast! My orchids are all full of bud so I should have some lovely flowers to look at very soon. Thanks for stopping by, happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, love n hugs Cindyxx #18

Happy New Year Jo. Wow, gorgeous colour - it certainly brightens the room! I planted a pear tree with my grandson about 6 years ago, when he was 3, he keeps checking how big it is, but no pears yet! I hope I didn't get it mixed up with something else ... have a lovely week, Heather xx #23

Thanks for your visit. WoW that flower is awesome, I too love to watch them grown and enjoy the colors. My roses were somewhat that way this year. I'm taking a break to visit, as I am redoing a room downstairs. Then putting away Christmas a little at a time as not to re injure that shoulder. We faired well with the storm, WINDS but no snow or damages bitter cold -15 so good to stay in. Have a fun week.

Your amaryllis is beautiful. The best one I have ever grown came from the 50p bin in Wilkos and it was wonderful-it was late to start and then it produced many candy striped blooms over many weeks. Happy crafting.x

If it was a choice between the bug and snow I'd take a lot of snow any day. We did have some this morning but it seems to have cleared now - not that much really but it did stick.
Love your bloom. Seems to be a very successful one and is a gorgeous deep red, a lovely welcoming colour.
One of my orchids flowered before Christmas and now the other three are in various stages of bud. The white one is closest to opening and has about 5 buds on it. Always exciting and nice to bloom after Christmas decs have com down.
Happy New Year, Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Good grief what a fantastic result Jo, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many flowers on a single stem, it’s wonderful. We’ve been really lucky to have avoided all the bugs, poor Annie and Doddy seem to have suffered several shares! I’m hoping that we’ll manage some sort of meet up this year, but above all, hoping you all stay well and enjoy as much of the year as you can. Xxx

Happy Belated WOYWW and Happy New Year. Beautiful flower. Both me and hubby have had horrible colds, and I am only just recovering. Probably caught from our grandchildren! Ali x. #27
