Happy Christmas to everyone who has the time to pop in here today! I hope you all have a peaceful few days and enjoy yourselves whatever you are up to.

We are blessed to be able to share our festive season with close family and friends but, should  you happen to be alone this Christmas, we will be thinking of you and sending you a big WOYWW hug.

I thought I'd share this weird little happening with you....

  

From my kitchen window, across the roof tops, I noticed this on a spindly old fir tree .

It made me chuckle - a rather weird fairy to put on the top of the tree!! 

It is, of course, a heron on the look out for a meal or maybe resting on the way to the pond. It was there for ages. I love to see the birds in my garden🤣🤣

 Welcome to everyone popping in to see what I have been busy with this week.

I have been finishing a few jobs and clearing the decks ready for Christmas.

These are the little Friendship hearts that I knitted for our hospital. I bagged them up in pairs and a lovely lady collected them from me.

Then I finished off a couple of denim book covers. I used some embroidery from faded vintage linens. 

My latest project was to knit a few little chocolate covers for our little ones this year...

A little fairy mouse.

Mother and baby penguins.

And last but not least...

A Mcfelty chocolate orange cover for Till Tea Dance 

It's just a reminder of the fab felted picture that she made and Catriona kindly purchased.

I think it will raise a smile don't you?

 Good morning all 

The weeks are whizzing by and Christmas will soon be here. I am pretty laid back about it really. We like to have quiet family time so my preparations are low key. I like to make a few gifts for friends and family, make my own cards and enjoy a few meals with the family.

I made most of my cards a few weeks ago using my fabric collage backgrounds and building poinsettia and holly on top. I will share those on here at Christmas .

But, I needed a few more to go with Christmas money gifts so I copied Maxine's design from last year.

I dusted off my needle felting machine and used a strip of green felt which I embellished with yarns and threads.

Then I chopped it up into tree shaped triangles which I trimmed with beads and embroidery.

I think they look pretty and didn't take too long.

So that's me for this week.

I hope you are enjoying your build up to Christmas and that no one was too badly affected by the gales.

 A busy WOYWWeek!

Tilly Tea Dance has 3 workshops this week so that's a lot of packs for me to create.

And lots of little fibre packs.   

Then I answered a request for Santa!

The local hospital needed cushions for their Santa sleigh to be used at the Christmas tree light up event. It pays to have cupboards full of stash. I made these with a recycled satin sheet and stuffed them with a poly duvet.

I made them on Sunday as they need them for today! All good fun.😀

Then we went off to Attingham Park to see the Christmas trees. I think this year was better than ever. They were designed around the theme of Greek myths and legends......

A travel themed tree linked to the picture of Mercury on the wall in the entrance hall. The baubles were made from globes or just decorated with old maps.

The volcano was of course linked to Vesuvius.

The Lord of the manor had visited Pompei.

In the dining room was a clever tree made from wine bottles celebrating Bacchus.

This beautiful floral one was, of course linked to Flora.

This one was below stairs and a reminder of how well the health of the staff was looked after. It was decorated with herbs, spices of a medicinal nature, tiny medicine bottles and info to do with leaches etc.

This is one for Jan, linked to the muses of music.
