Just a sneaky peek at WOWYW

I am half way through cleaning my oven-YUK! So while Mr Muscle is doing his bit ( and I mean the chemical product not my other half!!) I thought I would show you my table.
Yes, its covered in bridal fabric and trimmings. Also - just peeking out from under some voile, you can see the little dumflings that Wipso and I made on fun day Monday.
They are far from finished so I will not reveal all - just to say that, hopefully by next week, we will have added them to our other items and loaded up our bridal shelf in the blog shop.
Fun day Monday was a giggle as we were joined by Paula via the webcam - it puts video conferencing into a whole new dimension!!!!!!! We showed her our dumflings and she showed us her Cuttlebug!
Now dear WOYWWers I would like to share this little cake with you all. Its a scrummy rich fruit cake (Nigella's Christmas cake recipe). Don't look too closely at the icing - obviously my skills in crafting don't extend quite that far! ( Well we can't be good at everything!)
So, pull up a chair, grab a coffee and have a slice of my daughter M's 30th birthday cake.
We had a great day together with a bit of retail therapy, a little plotting and planning for her new garden and then a lovely meal out, to end the day. Where did those 30 years go? It doesn't seem five minutes since I held that tiny, precious little bundle in my arms. Now she is a beautiful, fun-loving and highly competent young woman.
Well folks, my oven buzzer calls!
Have a great day and if you want to see what the other WOYWWers are up to the pop over to Julia's blog to investigate.

Hehehe I'll show you mine if you show me yours eh? I can see this webcam catching on sis but they may be dissapointed when they realise that showing your dumflings doesn't require the removal of any items of clothing.

AH, the spring breath that is tulle - how exciting. Look forward to the reveal. M's birthday cake looks fab, will join you just as soon as the kettle's boiled. I always flash back to when I held her hand to cross the road - and now she seems to grab mine!

the cake looks fine - top marks for effort - anyway its what it tastes like that important - and if you didn't get salmonella or anything remotely similar - you did good!!!

I forgot i gave you the cuttlebug demo - i used it to cut some felt circles the other day - which will constitute a future blog post.

Well your may have showed off your dumfings on monday but at least we were spared you dumfing a puffin - that still cracks me up!!!

My daughter will be 30 in December, I don't think I can quite stretch to baking and icing a cake... my confectionery skills don't extend quite that far. I'm so glad you had a fab day together. It's is an enigma where the years go to!

oooh you spoil sport. And on the cake matter, who cares as long as it tastes good!!! Thats why half the cakes I make in this house dont get as far as the decoration - hubbys come out and hacked himself a chunk off before it's even cooled - hehehe.

Webcams are a fantastic thing, and to me a crafting lifeline..as most of my buddies are far away, crafty sessions via webcam is like having my friends in the same room..not the same i know but as good as!

Well I love those pink shoes and the pink ribbon on the cake - very girly! I'll have to wait a long time for a daughter-in-law before I can do a pink cake, teenage boys are right off themed cakes of any sort! xx
