WOYWW

Here we are again - happy as can be - all good friends and jolly good company!

I don't know where this song comes from but it came into my head the minute I sat down to do my WOYWW post!

These pictures sum up my week....
  • Knitting chics for charity...

  •   Making a little Katie Morag dressing up kilt...

  •  Making a quick cake for hubby's birthday so we can pop a candle on it when Ben comes to call. (When I say quick - I mean really quick - don't look at the detail!). We bought a spitfire cookie cutter at RAF Cosford Air Museum last week and I couldn't resist using it for the cake decoration.....

  • Lastly, my friend and I bought fabric for angels wings, Red Riding hood cloak and another cloak. So I will be busy over the next few weeks...

I hope you don't have too much snow. It was wet and cold here yesterday so who knows what will arrive today. Thank goodness we can keep warm and cosy and have some play time fun!

Have a good week.

WOYWW 503

Good morning to all my WOYWW blog friends and anyone else who calls by to see what I am up to.

As my desk hasn't seen much action over the last week, I thought I would post my latest little knitties…

My niece is helping to support the Haematology Cancer charity and asked me if I fancied knitting a few chicks to sell before Easter. Each one will have a Cadburys crème egg inside.

So, I knitted 6 little yellow ones and then decided funky random wool would be fun too.
I also had to name them so that's why each of the funky ones has a name tag.

There are advantages in having a never-ending supply of wool in my bag!

So that's my "show and tell" for this week.
Today, I will be having fun with Ben whilst Max catches up with some Tilly Tea Dance crafting in my sewing room. All good fun!

Have a great week.

WOYWW - 502

Good morning all.
Just a quick post for WOYWW.
Time flies and here we are on our weekly blog hop around crafters' desks again. (Although it usually takes me ages to actually get round to visiting and apologies to those I don't reach.)

I seem to have been busy this week but not crafted much. Just a couple of twiddle mitts.
I am trying to theme my designs so they may be a bit more "conversational" for the recipients.
This one is a flower garden design...

AND, this one is a seaside design.
I thought the words to songs might be good too.

Annie suggested - "Bluebirds over white cliffs of Dover" for my next one.

I am sure there are lots of other ideas out there for a little mitt that can not only be twiddled but stimulates a conversation or a song or two. What do you think?

Well, that's it for this week.

Sending our love and good wishes to all our blogging friends and anyone else who pops by.

WOYWW - 501

Good morning all!

I chuckled when I typed WOYWW - 501 - I think that was the sort of Levi jeans we all wore in the seventies! 501 - not WOYWW obviously!

So, I popped to see Annie for a coffee and to take her a bunch of bright yellow tulips, and this is what I came home with.....

That wool bag of mine will never be empty will it?

This is what she inspired me to do when I said I was using up all my scraps...

Two rainbows, clouds, sparkly sky and lots of bits and bobs plus a label stitched on my machine...
All things bright and beautiful indeed! (Another twiddle mitt to go in the bag ready for the hospital.)

Lastly, I promised a snap of one of the pairs of recycled jeans that I made for Ben to play in.

I think the original was a pair of jeggings. There was just enough room to recut this small pair once I had slashed the side seams and laid them out flat.

I would do a tutorial but I am not sure anyone else would want to do it. I just like little challenges. I will try and post a snap of Ben wearing one of the blue denim jeans that I recut. They were certainly worth the effort and look really snazzy.

Well that's it for this week.
My Tilly Tea Dance workmate is coming round today so that we can have our first "staff meeting" of 2019 - lol. She will tell me what to do and I will obey!!!

WOYWW

Just a quick WOYWW post to wish you all a Happy New Year!
I hope you had a lovely Christmas.

My table is a mess as I am sorting out a boxful of Tilly Tea Dance artwork ready to go off to one of her stockists. I always seem to end up with a mountain of bubble wrap and packing stuff!

The pile of old jeans came from Maxine (top left) - she thought they would recycle into jeans for Ben to play in. I just recut them and used the existing waist band/zip/buttons etc as they were, without removing them - so quick and quite easy once I had made a pattern from his own jeans.
Actually a great idea and I have upcycled 3 pairs so far and they look good - must remember to photograph my next pair!

I guess 2019 will mean much of the same - so plenty to keep me busy!

Wishing you a happy and healthy 2019.

All the best

Jo xx
