WOYWW

 Good morning all.

I hope you have had a good week and enjoyed the lovely weather.

My sewing room has only seen picture mounting and labelling this week.

We have been out and about and enjoying a bit of culture!

On Saturday we sat in the sunshine in the park in town and listened to a local silver band. It was a lovely chill out hour or two, followed by tea in a riverside restaurant.

On Sunday we went to Birmingham and watched Les Mis in one of the big arenas. It was a brilliant day out thanks to wonderful planning and organizing by my little sis and her hubby.

We even met a Lego giraffe on our way 😀

Today I am taking my car to the garage for a replacement air bag - a product recall  - so, necessary, but a nuisance as it will take all morning, I guess. Better to be safe than sorry.

Have a good week

 It's Wednesday!
Well where did last week go? I had to think twice when I noticed Sarah's FB post as I had forgotten to organize mine. The weeks are just flying by.

I've had a busy week making up Lavender fields workshop packs.

I've also been pricing and labelling all Tilly's artwork for her Exhibition next month at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms.

Lastly, I just thought you might like another clematis photo. Last year it had twenty blooms. This year it only has about ten but some of them are about 8 inches across.

Have a great week.

 Good morning all

Thank goodness for the cooler weather. It has been very pleasant this week with just enough rain to keep the garden fresh.  We have picked two lots of strawberries already.

As part of our 17th anniversary, Angela sent us sisters some little celebration bookmarks.

Isn't it pretty? Thanks lots Angela..🥰

I had another gift this week...

I met up with my college friends for lunch on Sunday and one of my crafty friends made this for me. He is about 6 inches tall. I called him Shoreham. We lived in a terraced house on Shoreham Street - right next to Sheffield United football ground. I think Annie wants the pattern so that she can make a few too.

My craft room hasn't seen much action although I did manage another set of workshop packs for Tilly - Lavender fields this time.

That's me for this week

 Good morning all

Welcome to our Wednesday desk sharing.

I'm afraid I have only managed a few jobs for Tilly Tea Dance this week. It's been too hot and sticky to do much more and I have spent time keeping cool and well hydrated.

These little piles of fluff will become fibre packs for Tilly to sell at her workshops. They are always popular and I enjoy putting colours together.

Yesterday we had monsoon-like showers at the end of a really hot day

I'm hoping it hasn't knocked the petals off my pretty rose.

I hope you have managed to stay cool and safe in this unusual May weather.

Have a good week all.

 Good morning all.

Another week has flown by and my sewing room has seen very little activity. I have done a little bit of yarn dyeing for Tilly...

However, I have been hindered by a miserable insect bite on my leg. It started itching and was hot and inflamed so I had to get antibiotics for it  I'm not usually troubled much by insect bites but this one is nasty!

While walking to meet Ben from school I saw this on the railway bridge. .

I'm guessing a local artist is going to paint a mural of a steam engine on the freshly painted wall. I will up date you when it's finished.

So that's me for this week

Looking forward to a sunny Bank Holiday weekend

Good morning all
 Happy 17th WOYWW anniversary!
I can't believe we have been sharing our work desks with our blog friends for 17 years. We have had some lovely times over the years and shared all sorts of crafty activities on our Wednesday blog hop.

To celebrate the life of our dear friend Neet I have made some funky coloured ATC sized card toppers. I added a bit of sparkle with some beads. I think Neet would have liked them.

They are all different and I've glued them onto cards.

So, apart from the colours in my crafty activity, I have enjoyed the colours in my garden.

The last pic is the first bloom on my clematis Josephine. Always a cheering sign that spring is here. I even heard a cuckoo on my walk at Attingham!

So,  let the sun shine and the colours of Spring cheer us.

Happy 17th WOYWW anniversary - long may it continue and a big thank you to Sarah for keeping us all on track.

Good morning all.

Proud mum moment here this week

We spent Saturday at the Shrewsbury Flaxmill Yarnies event held in the old dye room.

It was a super day. The room was filled with beautiful dyed yarns and fibres.

Tilly was invited by the organizers to show her work and of course demonstrate her craft.

We met lots of lovely folk, many were interested to find out about her workshops too.

She sold quite a lot of her artwork, cards etc so she was thrilled. It was a great opportunity to share a  quality day together.

This week I am putting together workshop packs and having a couple of days out and about.

Lastly, I know you will all be feeling sad at the loss of a treasured member of our group. Neet was a lovely lady, so thoughtful, caring and such a creative artist. We loved meeting up with her and Chas at our crafty get togethers. She will be sadly missed by us all.

Here is a little selection of Neet's ATC characters that she sent me over the years. All very quirky and very Neet. The card in the middle is the one that I had written and was ready to post to her on the day we heard the sad news. RIP dear lady.

Good morning all

I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine.

Yesterday was a bit chilly due to a north wind but hoping for more sunshine later in the week.

I managed to get my cards finished.

Some are similar to ones I've made before.

These are slightly different.

I've a few birthdays coming up so they will be useful.

The rest of my time has been spent pricing and prepping items for Tilly. She is having a stall at the Yarnies event at the Flaxmill Shrewsbury on Saturday.

She has had some magnets made using her felted designs. I think they look lovely.

She also has extended her card range. I'm sure they will fly off the shelves. Who doesn't love a puffin?!

So that's me for this week.

I'm hoping Neet is OK as we haven't heard from her for a while. Hugs to you if you are reading this Neet.

Have a good week

Good morning to all our WOYWW friends and anyone else who pops in to see what I'm up to.

I've actually managed a bit of crafting of my own this week by making a background piece ready for some card making

I added a few flowers and free machined a couple before I ran out of steam.

My dear hubby has passed his cold on to me and I've a nasty sore throat so not much energy.

We did manage a visit to the Ironworks at Oswestry. They have a fantastic display of sculptures made from recycled metal.

Some of them are quite scary but Ben loved them.

They must take hours to produce and seem to be made from car, motor cycle and machine parts as well as old bike tyres, chains etc

Hopefully I get rid of this cold before the weekend as we are going to Wonderwool Wales in Builth for our Tilly Tea Dance staff outing.🤣

Have a good week all

Good morning all.

My beautiful plants were a gift from my little sis for our wedding anniversary.. They are Senetti which I hadn't heard of. I love the bright jewel- like colours.

My sewing room has seen a bit of Tilly action this week.

I stitched the finished bookmarks onto her cards and bagged them up for sale.

Then she gave me a dozen little flower brooches to add fasteners to the backs and bag them up.

Every little job I do helps to keep her little business flourishing so it's very satisfying.

She's had a few problems with folk copying her work and then going on to hold workshops based on them. I guess social media makes it possible and easy to find lovely work and use it for financial gain. It's just a shame that these folk can't use their own ideas and creativity.. Crafters are usually so much more thoughtful and respectful. That's life these days I guess. Rant over!!

So that's me for this week.

Have a good week all.

Good morning all. I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend.

Ours ended with family tea here and Ben made my busy day all worthwhile by saying "I love it when we all get together" It just shows the simplest things with love, security and friendship mean more to youngsters than we might think.

At last I've got around to knitting a few more twiddle mitts......

A seaside one with a puffin and a lighthouse. There is a fisherman in a dinghy on the reverse.

Then I fancied making a coral reef.
They are fun to knit and decorate.

Now I need to get a few more design ideas so that I can make a few more.

Lastly we had another lovely outing to Powis Castle. So, just a few photos to share ...

It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed a gentle walk and the beautiful blossom, tulips and Clivia.

Have a good week all

Just a quickie this morning!

This week I have been continuing my work for Tilly Tea Dance .
She is taking her work to the Flaxmill Yarnies event next month where she will be demonstrating her art and selling felting materials and her own art.
So, I have been busy making fibre packs. They are just little packs of fibres, yarns etc that can be used for. Needle felting projects. I love putting colours together and creating little packs of gorgeousness

My next job was to use up some of our alpaca yarn and dye it to create colours for foliage on felted pictures. It is such lovely soft yarn that takes the dye beautifully. Tilly will be felting this into her pictures and also snipping it up to use in workshops. (See her updated website here if you want to know more Tilly Tea Dance)

So, that's me for this week.

Have a great week.

 Here we are again.

Another week, another What's on Your work desk Wednesday.

This week I have been working for Tilly. This was my table yesterday..

I created over twenty fibre packs. It's time consuming but I enjoy the slow pleasure of choosing merino fluff in toning colours and putting them together ready for sale at workshops.
I've also been bagging up postcards to go with all the other stock for Tilly's sale shelf at The Bog Visitor Centre.

I love this little print from her needle felted foxglove picture.
For relaxation,  I've been knitting a few more tiny hearts. I love this random wool...

And finally ..
This lovely peacock butterfly was basking in my garden before it turned cold and the wild, wet, windy weather descended on us!
So that's me for this week
I hope you are all well.
