WOYWW- the only one!

 Good morning all.

Well here we are, hoping we are continuing under the original creator of WOYWW, Julia at Stamping ground.

Sarah did a great job when she stepped in to keep us going, three years ago and we will never forget her.

But now, we are back to linking up with Julia who started us off over 17 years ago.

So here is my table....

I delved into my fabric stash - mostly given pieces.

I wanted to make a few items for our charity that we support. So here is my first item...

I had a scrap of Hungry Caterpillar fabric - just enough for a book sized bag for a little one

I haven't managed any more sewing as we've been away in Chester.

I did knit a little Christmas ted...

Chester in the sunshine..

Some wonderful metal sculptures in the cathedral, made from old copper water tanks.

And stunning stained glass.

We were so lucky to have two fabulous days of warmish sunny weather.

We returned home yesterday in pouring rain and it still continues!

Have a good week all.

WOYWW

Good morning all.

This is where we were just over a week ago. We were walking around York city walls. It's my favourite city. The sun was shining and the sky was blue and I had Sarah on my mind as we neared the Minster. It has been heart warming to read all the wonderful comments and tributes to our dear friend.

This week I think we have all been trying to keep busy and not waste a moment. I know Annie and I have.

I used some pretty fabric to make some gift labels and then trimmed a gift bag to match.

I've spent a lot of time on prep for Tilly.

I made these fibre packs ..

It's always rewarding to see what her students do with the work packs. Take a look here to see the artwork her year 11 students produced this week. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1J2odT2f76/

So that's me for this week

I'm so grateful to Julia for picking up the lead and keeping us all on track. It means a lot that we can keep going and maintain the friendship we have built over the years. Thanks lots Julia. You are a star?🤩

WOYWW - In memory of Sarah

I'm posting this photo of my birthday flowers as it is bright, cheerful and uplifting. At this sad time we certainly need some positivity.

Life is fragile and last week emphasized the fact. We lost our dear friend so suddenly and it has shocked us all.

We are now left with our own memories of the lovely lass that was Sarah.

Maxine and I will remember how she loved to join in with Tilly Tea Dance workshops. She often came to Shrewsbury with Eva to enjoy a day's needle felting and I know she loved the finished pieces which she gave as gifts to friends and family. I used to pop up to the venue to have a chat and a catch up.

I found this beautiful little robin that she made with Tilly and shared on her WOYWW  blog.

And this is Sarah's Bluebell woods picture.

She had quite a talent in needle felting and made some beautiful pictures over the years.

She also, very kindly, supported Maxine by buying her tiny pieces of felted artwork and had a shelf specially for them.
She even collected frames for Maxine, from Stoke, when we couldn't buy them in Shrewsbury.
Such was the lovely, thoughtful lass we knew and loved.

We were so glad when she stepped in to take over from Julia and keep WOYWW going. Now I hope Julia can pick up the traces and keep our much valued little group of crafters together.
Sarah will be much missed by us all.
Our thoughts are with her family and friends especially Eva.

Thinking of you all.
