WOYWW - countdown to 401!!

This is what I have been busy with over the last week.....

I have used up all the remaining pieces of fabric kindly donated by our friends, blogging friends and customers.
The mad total of little dresses for the "Dress a girl around the world scheme",  that Annie and I have made between us, is 401.
I think the pictures speak for themselves.

These make up the last parcel of 30 that I will be sending to Louise of Sew Scrumptious. She has been coordinatng the collection and distribution of the frocks - I think we are nearing a grand total of 1000 from all of her blogging friends etc .Update - YES! 1000 reached - click on Louise's link above to find out more!

Thanks lots to everyone who donated fabric and trimmings - we couldn't have done it without you.
I think it was Angie who said I was addicted - she was probably right! However, I shall be giving it a rest for a while. I have lots of other sewing jobs for friends and family so will be busy with them over the next few weeks.

Have a great blog hop everyone - I shall have a bit more time for visiting your desks this week.
Join in by hopping over to Julia's Stamping Ground and  add your blog to Mr Linky.

WOYWW

Good morning all!!

For the WOYWW blog hop today I have bared all and I have snapped my room as it is.
It was tidy until Monday, then I came back from Funday Monday and dumped all my bags and boxes.
So, feel free to have a good snoop!!

A few things to spot..........
  • In the centre - felted flowers that I made on  a felting course I went to with daughter M on Saturday. We had a great time at the workshop at Eddies in Shrewsbury. Its a lovely little shop where Mel sells revamped furniture and lovely crafty bits and bobs.
Here they are in close up!

A few other things to snoop.....
  • Button jars
  • Little frocks -
This week I am determined to finish off the last few frocks.
I will post a few pics of the latest designs later in the week. I got fed up with the basic design so I got a bit creative and made a few different ones. I tried to make them fairly simple but pretty and I used up lots of small pieces.
  • Bags of fabric left overs from the little frocks
  • Annie's box of dresses cut out ready for me to finish - she has lots of work on at the mo so I brought her box home with me. Funny how there are lots of green frocks left to make!! (She hates green)
  • Piles of fabric pieces that will be made into cushions and bags
If you want to join in with our blog hop then follow me over to Julia's Stamping Ground and see what the rest of the crafters, card makers and generally clever folk have been up to.

Thanks for popping in and enjoying a snoop!

WOYWW

Good morning all!

Better late than never.
I was out all day yesterday, had a fuzzy head and came back with a real headache but better today.
These things are sent to try us!!

So, just a quick post to show and tell.

I managed to cut out leather flowers with our Cuttlebug and think I shall be able to use them for lots of different ideas so that's brilliant.

I have a  blank canvas or two which I am going to use for fabric collages on funday Monday.
Next to them you can see what I made this week using some wool rovings and my dumfing machine (embellisher). They are little primroses which I will free machine and cut up for Easter cards.

The round box had a lovely china mug in it and now I think I might up-cycle the box to store things in. Not sure how I will do that but I have seen some lovely ones as I have toured your WOYWW desks so I am sure I could give it a go.

Now I need to get some work done!
Have a good blog hop everyone and thanks for popping in and leaving such kind and thoughtful comments here.
Join in the WOYWW craft desk snoop with all of us over at Julia's Stamping Ground.
x Jo

PS - See post below for little frocks update - I think I have made 238  - Annie has made 101, so that's a grand total of 339 posted to Louise of Sew Scrumptious for the "Dress a girl around the world scheme."

Frock update and blog award

This week's mini-marathon.

I had lots of little frocks cut out and ready to sew - taking up space in my sewing room.
I decided to have a mini-marathon and get as many done as I could and then have a break for a while and get back to other crafty activities.

So here are my latest little frocks for the "Dress a girl around the world scheme".

If you follow the link to Annie's blog you will see what I needed to do to squash 71 dresses into a manageable parcel!! They are now on their way to Louise at Sew Scrumptious so that they can be sent out to Africa.

Lastly a big thank you to Sue H who left this blog award for the Crafty Creations sisters!!!

Apparently the idea of this award is to get blogs, that have less than 200 followers, noticed by a few more people. Not sure if it will work but I like the concept and am happy to pass it on to others who have most definitely inspired me since I started blogging.

So the rules

1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.

Polly Polkadot
Another lady that loves to sew.

Tina of http://silverfootprints.blogspot.com/
Such a talented artist and owner of a fab gift shop

Bumblevee
A lovely lady who makes such cute needlefelted bears.

Now I know I am cheating - listing only 3 but I have a feeling I have done this one before so I don't feel guilty only choosing 3 more!

3. Post the award on your blog.

4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers......… I'll try and do that.

5. Finally and the best rule of all..........have fun and spread the love………..Willingly

Thanks lots, my happy blogging friends

WOYWW - sneaky peek

A frosty good morning all!
It's been a very busy crafty week.

Above is a sneaky peek of the latest collage that I have been working on.
I don't want to expose the whole thing - I want it to be a surprise for the recipient - but I thought you might like a quick look at a tiny bit of it. It is made with collaged fabrics embellished with free machining.

Below are the last few dressing up outfits I have made for my friend's grandson.

Blue knight
Red knight

Clown's jacket and baggy trousers

Fairy skirt and princess skirt

And lastly a set of five little frocks for the "Dress a girl around the world scheme".
I think I have another 35 finished to send to Louise of Sew Scrumptious. She has managed to arrange contacts in Malawi and India who are happy to receive the dresses and hand them out.
These frocks were made from a uninteresting duvet but I think they look quite pretty don't you?

Short and sweet today - I need to get back to that sewing machine. I have lots of ideas for the leather scraps, so thanks to all who kindly left such helpful suggestions and brilliant links. I managed to cut leather flowers using my Cuttlebug and I think brooches and bag embellishments are first on my list.

I will try to get round a few more of your blogs this week - I found lots of really interesting desks last week!!
To join in our WOYWW blog hop just follow the link to Julia's Stamping Ground.

WOYWW

Good morning all - thanks for dropping in to see what I have been up to this week.
More little frocks on display and more to come, I think!

Thanks lots to Sue H who has kindly donated another duvet for us to transform into pretty little frocks for the "Dress a girl around the world scheme." I love the little tag she sent with it - you are all such clever card makers.

These three dresses were made with the last duvet Sue sent us. I have loads more fabric left to use to trim up a few plain ones too.

These 2 were made with the last bits of bright pink dyed duvet. It never ceases to amaze me just how many dresses we can make from the bits and bobs we have in our fabric stash. I am sure it multiplies when we aren't looking!!

This afternoon I popped over to see Tina at Indigo Moon in Montgomery. She has lots of new stock in the shop so it is well worth a visit. I just had to treat myself to a few bits and bobs but I will show you those next week.
Now I have to get going on a few crafting jobs - I don't know where the time goes.
Luckily my back is better this week so I am back up to speed again!

If you want to see how I spent my day yesterday, then check out Annie's blog - I can hear you all going Ahhh! already.
Have a great Wednesday all. Enjoy your blog hop - now over to Julia's Stamping Ground and see what she has been throwing on the floor today!!

WOYWW

Happy Wednesday everyone.
Thanks lots to all who left lovely birthday messages last week.
I had a great day and fab evening with friends and family too.
I thought you would like to enjoy some of my birthday flowers.

Life is a bit quieter this week - if only because I pulled something in my back on Monday and have needed to take the last couple of days at a slower speed than I am used too. Its much better today, so I am just treating it with care!! (No weight lifting or marathon running for me this week then - lol)

My table has a few brooches left over from our craft fair (see post below) plus 2 gorgeous jars of buttons that I bought on Saturday.
My favourite magazines are alongside some knitted cords which I am using to make little bracelets with.
Thanks Suz for the link to the "you tube" video showing me an easy way to make them.
(I had struggled for hours with fancy wools and a "knitting Nancy doll" and failed.)

And below are my latest knits for P and L. A pretty bright pink hoodie each and one of their favourite little shrugs for them both.

And my latest little dress for the "Dress a girl around the world scheme"

We sent a parcel of 64 to Louise - she put them on her blog Sew Scrumptious if you want a good look.

Well thats it for today - thanks for calling - I must link up with you all over at Julia's Stamping Ground now - I am a bit late today!!

Update - click here for news of the new addition to Wipso's family - he is gorgeous!!!!!

WOYWW

Good morning Wednesday Workdesk Watchers!!

Now, do I show you the before or after.?
My sewing room is a tip.
I have been busy making little dresses and crafting with M.
The result is one very untidy workspace.
Oh go on then here it is .......

Now-  I will tackle the boxes and bags that are lying around the place and have it all ship-shape by lunchtime.
And the outcome of all the mess?...

Lots of little frocks ready to post to Louise soon.
I hope the "Dress a girl around the world" scheme still has room for a few more as I have a feeling I will be receiving a rather large parcel of fabric soon!

M. made lots of little dumflings to put on the front of her little wedding cards and finished off some fab bunting and her Baboushka picture. They will go in her Etsy shop later this week.

And the view from my window as the sun went down on Sunday evening.....

OK - just a quick post this morning - Wipso called and curtains need cutting!!
So, I will be down on my hands and knees at her feet this morning - she is called Wipso for a good reason.
I just have time to add my name to Mr Linky and leave a message for our great blog organiser Julia - I hope she is technically well set up this week!
Thanks to all who visited here and left lovely comments last week - see you later. x Jo
