Whats on my desk today? A total mess!
Wipso and I sat with my daughter M crafting whilst the men were at football.
Wipso and I sat with my daughter M crafting whilst the men were at football.
We laughed non stop for nearly two hours and during this time M beaded up the tiny "dumflings" she had made earlier.
When I came home, I scattered them over my table so that the glue would dry, now that some are mounted on cards. Thats what you can see in my photo.
M has always loved joining in our crafting sessions - she has a great eye for colour and texture and really enjoyed using the embellisher to create these delicate little scraps of wool, silk, lace and yarn.
I am under strict instructions as to which colour/type of card to mount them on so will be busy doing just that today. Then I will bag them up, ready for the blog shop.
Thanks Wipso for all the hilarity last night - I would share it with you all but it was just too silly and possibly too rude for this blogspot!!
Have a great day. Think I should pop over to Julia and the rest of the WOYWW bunch now before I get busy.
PS
Julia asked how big these little dumflings are.
Well they vary but I suppose between 2" and 3" long and 1" and 2" wide.
At the moment they are just card toppers but we might make a few of them into little brooches.
Julia thought they would make nice additions to bridal bits and bobs.
If anyone wants these little dumflings then contact us via the blog shop.
Thanks for the comment Julia - food for thought!!!

How dare you suggest anything rude goes on in my house :-)
For the curious few we like to make up appropriate new words for things [like our,now world famous, dumfing] and I can only say Twiglet must have seen something I hadn't seen cos, of course, I could see nothing rude in them.;-)

I must say I did wonder about the word "dumfing". I just assumed it was a knitty/crochet term!
Hi love the new look blog,
That looks lovely what you are working on.

Well, I think if you consider your artfully scattered about cards as a mess on your desk, then you must visit mine and put your hands ove ryour eyes! M's creations are beautiful...are they 'just' card tops or broochy things..and how big? Wouldn't they make lovely bridal fancies if wired among the flowers or strung on ribbons. Pretties.
And you certainly mustn't visit mine or you will probably have a fit!
Not sure you can call that a mess, looks totally organised to me!
Thank you for your comment. Be aware that crochet should could with a warning - it is totally addictive!
Your dumflings are SO pretty. I think that if they were seen on a top model on the catwalks of London they would be lauded by one and all. They are seriously attractive!
Chrissie
sounds like you had fun last night and I understand that I might have contributed to it by giving Wipso another bloggie award when she had just been remonstrated for responding to one!! (silly woman - life is too short not to have fun!)
Love the dumflings, they are beautiful! Have a great week. Tracey X

I'm waiting for payday as I want to buy another canvas with the pink flowers on - you are so talented the both of you.
Love it!
