Ha Ha, brilliant sign. How hard it must have been to have been a housewife and look good for her husband. Of course i am wearing my diamonds and best frock whilst im typing just in case a visitor should call.

You are a super star! Just received your parcel so TYTYTYTY.!!!! I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness and I know our little fraulein will love Katie Morag. I've left her wrapped ready to post off but now I'll have to powder my nose, put on my lippy and clean the house before I can make the skirt with the fabric you sent!!
See what you've done!!!

Good grief! What was I thinking this morning? I went for the scoop and tie with my hair - no rollers or hairspray, I don't even own any powder, and lipstick? Ha, don't make me laugh!!
:D

I love the old magazines and articles that tell the "wife" how to look pleasing for her hubby. Guess that's why I never got married (grin). After all, I was raised by grandparents who actually lived through that time period.

Of course, that may be why my house has to be pristine before I can go to my studio to play. However, I've never owned a tube of lipstick in my life, nor do I own any makeup. I thought this was SO funny, though.

I love those tea cups. The collage is even prettier than when I saw it a few hours ago on WOYWW's post. You did a marvelous job with it. Did you use a fusible to keep the fabric in place while you sewed it?

Karen was reading this to us yesterday in a video .... are you taking her class this time around Jo? or is the Linda she speaks about another blogger you visit?

I was trying to remember the gist of it to tell Greg...now I shall borrow this... too funny....
and, here I never get out of my 'jammies and bunny slippers some days ..oh, all right...sometimes I do jump into something else just before he comes home ... but, not always ........ and luckily, he stil loves me anyway..... it took me a long time to find the right guy.... but, I did... he loves me for me, not for what I wear and whether I have lipstick on.... whew.... and visitors dropping in unannounced? ..hahhaha that'd never happen.... and if it did, I just wouldn't answer the door. Hard to feature how enslaved we all were just those few years ago...

Too funny! I almost never wear make up...mind you I almost never sew so maybe there is a connection! Love the collage. Thanks for the smile. Caro x (#6)

That would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that as a newly wed way back in the 60s I followed advice that was so similar it could have been from the same saintly housewife! The collage is lovely. Thanks for sharing. Elizabeth xx

I love the collaged teascups.
i had to smile at the rest. I used to have a sewing book with a similar intro. How glad I am that days are long gone!
I was interested to see how many comments say 'I've never used powder or lipstick'. Nor have I but I thought I was the exception.
Thanks for the smile. Kate x

Bwahahahahahaaa! I shall have to remember where my lippy is next time I get the machine out. Though it could lead to lippy on my cotton after threading! Please may I borrow this for my quilting group? I could maybe give them this for the next workshop!!
