Friday smile

Good morning all!

More birds to show you this week.
All the photos are taken through my kitchen window - hence they are a bit fuzzy - yes maybe I could have cleaned the window first!

The young Woodpecker seemed to be admiring his bright red cap as he gazed into the birdbath - he eventually took a sip of water but resisted the urge to bathe.

The young Great Tit in the rest of the photos was grazing for spiders on my patio furniture and spent ages looking up into the nooks and crevices before dashing in and pecking at them.

Our garden is full of youngsters at the moment and this week we have had young Goldfinches and Green finches too.

I chuckled as I saved these photos to a Picasa collage because I named the collage "Tits".
So if anyone googled that subject and came up with my birds, I hope you enjoyed view!

For more Friday smiles just pop over to Annie's "A stitch in time" blog and see what the others have found to make them smile this week.

Saturday smile!

A bit late with my smile for this week!
Just spotted this baby woodpecker and its mum on my fence.
I love this time of the year but so does the sparrow hawk!
Within five minutes of taking this picture there was a beautiful male hawk sitting in exactly the same spot - I don't think he had been quick enough to take this baby but I am sure there are plenty more fledglings around that he will be whisking away in no time!

Have a good weekend.

WOYWW & TVTMWT

This is the state of my work room today!
Busy getting ready for next Saturday's craft fair at Montgomery, so my room is stacked out with bags of things ready to go (will post more pics of them tomorrow).
Bags and boxes everywhere!
I need to start this morning with a huge tidy up and sort out before I start any more crafting - and what am I doing...... blogging this post and then reading a few of the 150 post that you wonderful WOYWWers put up every Wednesday. I never manage to see all of them but I do enjoy popping in to as many as I can. If you want to join in this mad blog hop, then go to the WOYW Julia, chief organiser's blog and follow Mr Linky.

Two other pics to share...
TVTMWT
The view through my window today...

Woke to a hard frost outside - but a lovely sunny morning.

This male woodpecker obviously felt the need for an early breakfast on the peanuts!

See you all later - have a great WOYWW!

Garden visitors.

My garden seems full of little visitors at present. We have families of blue tits, great tits, greenfinch, chaffinch and goldfinch along with a young woodpecker and its parents.

Yesterday, whilst we were watching the tennis, these cheeky squirrels chose to pose and stretch on my fence, long enough for me to snap them through my lounge window.
