 Just a few jolly pictures to brighten a rather gloomy day!

Firstly the lovely ATCs I have received over the last week or so...
I love the way they are all so different and each one a tiny work of art.
Thanks lots to our WOYWW friends from around the globe.. Cardarian, Sharon K, Lisa D. Laura and Elizabeth. They really are beautiful and I now need to make a little book to keep them in.

 Here are two little pals who have been having a snoop around my untidy work table today!
We are calling them Izzy and Ben because they are a little gift for Ben's bestie Izzy.
Ben has a set that like to hide in the pockets on my red cushions and he loves them.
(I think he would quite like these two as well so I will have to put them up out of sight!)
Oh - and of course, all credit must go to Flutterby Patch - the creator of the little knitted dolly pattern.

AND lastly, my Shrewsbury Town Footie Club Twiddle muffs.
(So glad I didn't knit England ones - oops!)
They are all ready to go to the hospital along with the final bunch of about 20 normal ones.
Now I need to find something else to keep me busy - a little dumfing maybe?

 Just a little bit of crafty activity from the sewing room today.
My free evenings have been spent knitting "parts" for dollies.
I loved the little characters on "Fluttterby Patch" so I bought the patterns and started knitting. Well, Like everything else I pick up - it's addictive!


 I have already given one away and she has been named Daisy and is already a firm favourite.

In a spare afternoon I made my friend a quilted table runner for Christmas - well she had it all cut ready to sew - I just quilted through random ivy leaves with gold thread and put binding around it.

We have had a busy week because Maxine was contacted by someone wanting to buy some of her beautiful needle felted pictures so we had to get a few mounted and framed and then set up a little exhibition in my dining room. Here are a couple of them...

Check out "Tilly Tea Dance" if you want to see more. She sold four so, I think she needs to get a few of them on her Etsy site now, in time for the Christmas rush!

And lastly, as I was in Watson and Thorntons fabric shop on Monday somehow I felt the urge to stock up on my fat quarters!! ( Something sounds a bit weird there but I am sure you know what I mean!!)



Just a tip for anyone sewing metallic thread - these needles help to stop the thread from breaking. Also they have a humongous eye so they are easy to thread - a tip for short sighted old dears like me!!)

It was lovely to see the photos of all our WOYWW buddies at the crop last Saturday - and so good to see that smiley pic of Shaz looking so well too.

 Good morning all - well actually a wet and gloomy one here.
It doesn't matter much as I am going to town and will dodge the showers.

My table is covered with left over bits and bobs from our crafty activities yesterday.
Maxine has been designing Ben's 1st birthday invites and I guess she will show you what she has been doing on her Tilly Tea dance blog.
On the left is some flesh coloured wool waiting for me to knit some little dollies. Flutterby Patch blog has some really lovely little dollies and she is going to sell her patterns on Etsy so I will make a few for my nieces little ones for their Christmas stockings. The little scrapbox doll on the right is also made following another of Flutterby Patch ideas too.

Below is the little discovery toy that I made for Ben.
He likes to shake it and see what shows through the little plastic window.

Well that's it folks. I need to get sorted ready for my trip to town.
I might be gone for some time as we are going to Watson and Thorntons fabric shop. A great place to lose an hour or two!!

Happy Wednesday everyone. Don't faint - but I just want to show you my tidy room...

An empty table with my sock dollies and little Tanner peeping over the shelf wondering what's happened!

My other shelf cleared of all the clutter except for a boxful of card and my little hang over desk tidy.


Now I can hear you all saying "Why?"

Well, I have an old school friend coming over this week and I just wanted to clear the surfaces so that I can show her some of my crafty bits and bobs without climbing over all the stash!

 Of course, I have only just tidied it up and it won't stay like that for long!!
I have been busy making a little bag (another idea from Flutterby Patch).

AND......
A little dolly on a card for Lou's birthday.

Good morning all!!
I hope it's not too cold and snowy where you are.
We have had about 20cms of snow but all roads are clear so it's not really a problem to us.
I feel very sorry for all the farmers round here who are busy lambing. I guess they may lose any that they can't get into shelter.

My table is covered with dolly mayhem!

I found the idea on Flutterby Patch.
Eli made little dancing dollies inspired by Julia Donaldson's book Paper Dolls. (author of The Gruffalo)

We always make paper dollies for our little ones so these fabric ones (all link handswith velcro) are just an extension of that idea.

Annie showed the twins the proto types that I made last week and Sam's response was... "Wow!"
What a poppet and he is only 18mths old.
So here is my third batch of dollies - these are going in the post for my great nieces/nephew who have chicken pox at present. I thought they would be fun to play with/ count etc.

They are only made with tiny scraps from my scrapbox - a bit like the scrapbox dollies (- another idea from Flutterby Patch) but no beads or buttons etc so safer for tinies to play with. Their features are all hand stitched and the hair and decorations are all securely stitched on.

Well that's it for today.
I am going to make a few Easter cards now, ready to post tomorrow when I go to see Annie and the twins.

Finished by Friday - 2

Welcome to Finished by Friday 2!
This week has flown by.
I have had a busy time but managed to squeeze in as much crafting as possible.
I have to admit to a new addiction....

 








These are my little scrapbox dollies that I have been making for Christmas.
I found the idea on a lovely blog called Flutterby Patch
They are supposed to be tiny dollies made with oddments from your scrap bag.
Well, mine have sort of evolved into quite fancy little dollies.
They have smart little costumes with arms and legs made from co-ordinating beads.
Each one has a ribbon hanging loop so they can hang on the Christmas tree - or anywhere else where a little dolly would look cute.
I still have a few more to finish and then I will decide what to do with them.
Maxine suggested displaying them on a painted branch.

My other little makes were for the twins.
I found a pattern for little slippers so made a pair for each of them.

And then I made a cosy little frock for Lexi - unfortunately it turned out to be too large so I am now making a smaller version. She will grow into it soon, so it won't be wasted!
