WOYWW

Good morning all.

My beautiful plants were a gift from my little sis for our wedding anniversary.. They are Senetti which I hadn't heard of. I love the bright jewel- like colours.

My sewing room has seen a bit of Tilly action this week.

I stitched the finished bookmarks onto her cards and bagged them up for sale.

Then she gave me a dozen little flower brooches to add fasteners to the backs and bag them up.

Every little job I do helps to keep her little business flourishing so it's very satisfying.

She's had a few problems with folk copying her work and then going on to hold workshops based on them. I guess social media makes it possible and easy to find lovely work and use it for financial gain. It's just a shame that these folk can't use their own ideas and creativity.. Crafters are usually so much more thoughtful and respectful. That's life these days I guess. Rant over!!

So that's me for this week.

Have a good week all.

Rant away Jo…I’m right there with you on this one. I don’t think for one minute they will do the job Maxine does.

Beautiful colours with the flowers and Tilly’s artwork! Happy Anniversary to you both, hope you had a lovely day xx. How infuriating about the person sopping Max’s work and ideas, the cheek of running a workshop based on it too…..grrrrrr. May the karma of the Crafting Gods bite that person on the bum!

Oh dear that is rather naughty, especially the running a workshop based on it! Hope it doesn't impact on her business too much.
Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #13

I do think the copying and doing your own classes is across the board. My niece has had someone come for a lesson and then go and offer the same lesson herself. China does it all the time and I can’t see how they get away with, but stamp companies bring out their versions of hedgehogs stamps for example, I think Penny Black had the first. Sigh! I've seen those flowers before but didn't know their name. I think there's lots of copying takes place with all kinds of crafting, it seems unfair but something we've all had to learn to live with. I'm sure the quality of Tilly's work is much better. Wishing you a very happy woyww, hugs Angela x8x

Oh rant away Jo, it’s utterly frustrating that original works and ideas are so blatantly copied, there’s so little that can be done and that is the worst feeling when like Maxine, you work so hard to create your business. I’m so happy to read that the business continues to flourish, you are such an essential part of it, it must be so satisfying! Beautiful Senetti, congrats on your anniversary!

Oh my what gorgeous flowers defo jewel-like. Love all the finishing touches you bring to Tilly's work and yes it is a shame about others using her ideas for financial gain. You hit the nail on the head about my hand op being "nasty" it really was quite traumatic this time but yes also glad it is over now more or less. Hugs Bj#3
