WOYWW

 Good morning all.

This is what I will be working on later today....

Obviously, not on my workdesk but in the kitchen.

I am making 3 Christmas cakes as usual - one for my little sis and one for Max along side my own.

I put the fruit to soak in brandy yesterday so it should be ready just to add to the other ingredients and pop in the oven.

If you are visiting my desk later, you may well smell the delicious aroma of baking Christmas cakes wafting through the air 😋

I am afraid my work desk has remained empty apart from admin for Tilly. I have made 24 McFelty workshop packs ready for December. I made them nice and early as we will be having a little visitor at some point next week so, hopefully, there will be some happy photo post to share with you next Wednesday.

So, very short and sweet this week.

I am still coughing - its a nasty bug - I don't feel poorly but it stops me sleeping well, so I am inclined to be a bit grumpy - so I am told!!

Have a good week

xx Jo

Sorry to hear you are still being plagued by the cough Jo. Hope you can get more sleep soon. Your kitchen sounds like a good place to be today - alas I am too early for the delicious smells that no doubt eminate. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

That blooming cough has plagued you hasn’t it? They do seem to be taking a while to shift, it’s awful when you can’t sleep either. Hope you have fun making the cakes, you’ll have muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger by the time you’ve finished mixing that lot!! Looking forward to our catch up!

I have two Christmas cakes soaking on the work top at this moment in time. One made two weeks ago and one earlier this week. The house smelled lovely when they were baking.

Sorry to hear you are still troubled by that cough. I did read somewhere that colds and coughs are lasting longer these days. Have fun with the baking. We never have a Christmas cake as neither of us like it. Happy WOYWW. Angela #6

Hi Jo, I should be feeling guilty now! I don't make my Christmas cake, I let someone else do it but this lady and her husband have made them for years. My hubby used to give her daughter a lift to school years ago and we became quite friendly with the family. I still remember the first cake she made for me which was a birthday cake in the shape of a Teddy Bear (I collect them) and it's a small business for her so I don't feel guilty really. I'm sure Tilly will be pleased that the kits are ready to go. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x11x

Ah well if you aren't getting your sleep you are entitled to be grumpy!! None of us really care for Christmas Cake in this house but it seems like a real Christmassy tradition we are missing out on. The most festivey cooking I do is sausage rolls - well, they are a Christmas treat in this house!! Happy WOYWW, love n hugs Cindyxx #12

That cough is hanging on, isn’t it? Hope you feel better soon. Would some tiger balm, Vicks or eucalyptus oil rubbed on your chest help you sleep?
Mmm, I can smell your Christmas cake from here!
I can sell you a copy of my book directly (email to lmcollis@icloud.com), it’s available on Amazon or can be ordered from other bookshops. (https://amzn.eu/d/3NgrM9m).

Yes, I think I can smell those lovely fruit cakes. Delicious!
I hope your cough clears up soon. They seem to last so long even after the rest of the cold has gone.
