WOYWW

 Good morning all!

I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend.

It was cold but still beautiful in the sunshine and wonderful because we managed to see the family for an hour in the garden.

My desk has seen a little bit of embroidery action this week!

I started some of the surface stitching on the little collage kit that Max bought me for Christmas.

I had Bondawebbed all the fabric pieces into place. Unfortunately that makes stitching a bit trickier as the fabric becomes stiffer to stitch through - hence my ceramic thimble. It also meant I had an iron to clean and I really think I need to make a new ironing board cover - I know it's not just me who makes a mess with Bondaweb - melting it onto the iron when I accidentally put the stuff upside down and then attach it to the bottom of my iron. I do have a little scrubbing pad called "Erase Away" that cleans it quite well. (Dampen it and rub it over the bottom of a cold iron)

Anyway here it is....

And below are two of the latest Twiddle muffs
A Shrewsbury Town footie one and a DIY one.

Not as exciting to make as my little "character" ones but probably just as effective.

So that's it for this week.

I hope you are all enjoying a bit more freedom.

It's going to take us a while to get back to anything like normal but, as long as we are careful, maybe the Summer will be better.

Have a good week.

xx Jo

The collage picture looks lovely but I can imagine sewing through Bondaweb is not easy. I sympathise with the iron - been there!
Was thinking we had no Twiddlemitts this week but there they were, thank you, I have had my fix for the week now.

How cool is that little jean pocket?! I really love the look of the kit and I'd love more details on this if you have it please? It won't look anything like it is supposed to I'm sure but I'd love to have a go at one of them. Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #9

I share your Bondaweb pain and will definitely look for an Erase Away pad as I know I’ll need it for my new iron at some point when I muck things up again, lol! That little kit is really lovely though and worth getting the ceramic thimble out. Well done on the twiddlemitts, you must be able to knit them in your sleep now!

Bondaweb is a great product but you're right it's a pain if it gets stuck on the iron. The collage looks lovely and is coming along nicely. Great Twiddlers too. Sending big hugs and wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x17x

Your picture is beautiful, but I sympathise about the bondaweb... why do we all do that with the iron? the twiddle muffs are great fun too. I had a fun day at Kew on Saturday despite the cold - it was so good to be back! Helen #1

Perfect mitts, am sure they’ll be very recognised! Bondaweb is pretty much the full on necessary evil isn’t it. Worse thing to me is that you need the iron to be cold before you can clean it, and that is a nuisance because by the time I’ve remembered it will be cold, I need to use it again!
This, from Di Wray......
Hi Julia! I was one person who had trouble getting to your blog and eventually we went into our online BT account and turned off 'web protect' - the fancy addition they imposed on BT users a while ago to keep us more secure. Goodness know why it picked out your blog as unsafe - which casts doubt on the efficacy (snuck a COVID vaccine expression in there see!) of the change. Unless it doesn't like people who like cake? That would be all of us then! Snigger. Di x
I haven’t had a response by email or message to my appeals to BT for help, adjustment or guidance. Surprise!!

Posted off Julia’s twiddle muff yesterday. Reading her Instagram post yesterday it looks like it will be just the pick me up she needs after one of her scans went badly wrong at the weekend.
Have a good week lovely Jo.

Thanks for the tip about Erase Away-Amazon has delivered and the iron has been cleaned. I love the collage-can’t wait to see what else you put onto it. Happy stitching!

I love your embroidered picture, Jo. Whenever I'm using Bondaweb I always do it on and under a cloth. Even it you manage to get the Bondaweb the right way up (lol!! - we've all had a ooops moment with that, I think!) you sometimes get a bit of "leakage" around the edges. The twiddlers are fun this week, especially the DIY one.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Jo, a good tip about the evil bondaweb, thanks. I love your embroidery collage. Your twiddle mitts are great - good to have sport and diy themes, too.
Take care
