Max wanted a few lavender bags to put amongst her yarn and roving bags - smells nice and keeps the moths away.
So, I treated us to a 500g bag of Cotswold lavender. The bag duly arrived and I must admit I went for value for money without really thinking how much 500g of lavender would be!
Now I have an ample supply to fill about 50 little bags.
Here are a few that I quickly made yesterday.
I spread them out on some pretty table linen - crochet, lace and broiderie anglais.
My room smelt lovely.
If anyone would like a few lavender bags leave a comment and I will delve into my fabric stash and see what I can do.
My sewing room is out of action until the workmen have put a new window in but I should be able to put it straight on Friday and get going again.

I can smell those lavender bags from here! I used to harvest the garden lavender for little bags over several years. Still had quite a few in my drawers when we came to move here to Australia but we couldn't bring them as they would not be allowed through customs.

Too right I sprayed coffee, lolol!!! All I'll say is that your drawers will be small and neat whereas mine could probably accommodate all the 50 bags you're making ;-). And that's the sensible way to get your lavender, buy it - I've been drying mine form the garden and now comes the bit I hate, getting it off the stalks.....never mind, I'll be making some bags soon enough :-D

Well, I was going to say they are pretty enough to sell so I will buy a couple from you of you have them to spare. Anything to keep the moths at bay both here and in the caravan. I suppose I could stir myself and make some but I have no lavender so that is my excuse. Plus it makes my asthma set off if it gets too strong so a 500g bag would see me off LOL.
Hope the window gets fixed real quick and you don't get your room too chilly - but then you probably don't have as much cold air down there as we do.

ha - that's the sort of thing i would do too. I am a big fan of lavender - so calming and soothing - i use sprays in the bedrooms ( especially my ADHD son) to try to promote sleep! would love one of your bags but don't want to make work for you xx Have a lovely sweet smelling week. Soojay #22
Such lovely little lavender bags. We have a beautiful lavender farm near us and each year I buy my lavender from them (plus a cuppa and wonderful home made cake at the same time!). Such a shame we haven't been able to visit them this year, but I still have a jar half full from last summer - now I need to get off my proverbial and get making lavender bags. You are such good inspiration!

Lovely lavender bags and yes I once made that same purchase not realising how much lavender there would be! I usually dry my own but I’ve left it for the bees this year.
Lavender is such a wonderful scent and your bags are adorable!

Oooh lavender bags! I love those. When I started my chemo I made them for my fellow patients, with little matching boxes to keep them in, together with a tiny card that wished them well with their treatment. We've got several lavender plants in the garden and they are very prolific. You've done a lovely job with your little bags, lavender coloured and with pretty little bows! They are delightful, and they look really lovely on the lace cloths too.

Sorry I’m so late Jo! Love the lavender bags...didn’t know that it was a natural moth repellant (where on earth have i been), so quite an important ingredient in Max’s drawers! I nearly spat my coffee out at your warning to Jan!! Made me really LOL. And the other smile was that 500g of lavender is really an unexpected amount...it weighs nothing really!! Love that you take the time to add a little embellishment to the bags even though they are going to be buried deep in a pile of rovings!
