WOYWW - 502

Good morning all.
Just a quick post for WOYWW.
Time flies and here we are on our weekly blog hop around crafters' desks again. (Although it usually takes me ages to actually get round to visiting and apologies to those I don't reach.)

I seem to have been busy this week but not crafted much. Just a couple of twiddle mitts.
I am trying to theme my designs so they may be a bit more "conversational" for the recipients.
This one is a flower garden design...

AND, this one is a seaside design.
I thought the words to songs might be good too.

Annie suggested - "Bluebirds over white cliffs of Dover" for my next one.

I am sure there are lots of other ideas out there for a little mitt that can not only be twiddled but stimulates a conversation or a song or two. What do you think?

Well, that's it for this week.

Sending our love and good wishes to all our blogging friends and anyone else who pops by.

xx Jo

Beautiful work and I think the themed idea is a great one. Busy as always and you put so much care into your makes. The ironing board is calling me today, so the sooner I start, the sooner I finish.

A brilliant idea ... really love the twiddle mitts, dear Jo, and I’ve visited quite a few in nursing homes over the years including dementia patients I think anything that can distract is incredibly helpful.
What grand ideas to do songs too. Happy WOYWW.

Those are fantastic!! How clever to incorporate a theme rather than just patterns...brilliant. That's a good challenge re thinking of new songs to inspire other twiddlemuffs - how about My Favourite Things from the Sound of Music, Yellow Submarine, You are my Sunshine, Rock around the Clock. I'm sure there'll be more..... ;-)

Loving the twiddle mits and the themes really add to them. Old familiar songs would be good for themes as lyrics from childhood songs often stick in the memory when other things go. Some of the early Disneys such as Mary Poppins (lets go fly a kite) or Bednobs and Broomsticks (we're bobbing along) would be a potential. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely week. Love and God Bless, Caro xx (#19)

These are brilliant, Jo. And the song theme would be excellent too. Often the elderly remember long ago better than yesterday so anything that sparks a memory of days gone by should bring pleasure. Have a great week. Hugs, Ellie x #26

Ooh aren't these gorgeous little creative treasures - and I love the idea of them being themed. I don't know how you did it but putting the words of 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' on to the ribbon is a fantastic idea. I immediately thought of 'Daisy Daisy give me your answer do' and visualised daisies (easy enough to do I thought), but I then came totally unstuck at the thought of adding a 'bicycle made for two'!!
Hope you have a great week,

Oh Twiglet, you are a thoughtful superstar. I think seasons and weather would make good mitt subjects. Mum plays with the odd textured piece now and then, the thought of having a theme to actually talk to her about is such a great idea. It’s all very well visiting, but it’s stimulating conversation that she needs and it can be very hard when it’s so one sided! Your mitts are a delight.
