Good morning all - WOYWWers and everyone else who likes a snoop to see what I am up to!
Well this week I am in top gear or maybe even overdrive! (Am I showing my age there?- I suppose it was before 5th gear was invented).
The little sewing room is taking shape and I have spent a few hours clearing and sorting - it still seems a never ending task but it is looking more like a place I want to spend time in. I might even show and tell next week.
This week you can see the results of my busy sewing and knitting fingers....
I had a fab red linen shirt which I decided would make two cushion covers to go on my new Ikea sofa cover in my breakfast kitchen. It was tricky making sure I had enough bits to patchwork together but I managed to make a matching pair. They each have a little pocket so that I can hide little treasures in there for Ben.
The other cushion is one that I made from a recycled aran jumper a while ago.
Next, are a couple of twiddle mitts or probably "muff" is the right word. (Stop sniggering - you know who you are!!)
We seemed to cause a few giggles with these over the last week or so!
If you would like to know more then click this link here.
It does seem like a great idea so we tried to add extra textures and bits and bobs to twiddle.
AND lastly one of my little Katie Morag skirts complete with faux kilt pin!
So that's it for this week.
I think I will have another busy week ahead.
I am knitting a little aran jumper for Ben and that is certainly keeping me awake as I have to follow the pattern line by line.
I hope you enjoyed your snoop around.
Have a great week.
x Jo

I love the wrist warmers and that white pillow is adorable.
Great cushions - go well on the sofa - been there with the trying to piece bits together to make the most out of the fabric - I think these little puzzles keep the dementia at bay so we can concentrate on making rather than using the twiddlemuffs. Carry on the good work x Jackie 28
Blimey, you have had the wind under your tail this week! Some lovely makes...the Katie Morag kilt is fab :-)
And I'm sorry for sniggering............!!

I love your cushions - what a fab idea using the linen shirt - it looks wonderful against your Ikea sofa cover, the Aran one is so cosy and perfect for this wintery weather. Your twiddle mitts/muffs are looking good, you have been busy.
Hope you have a great week,

Hi Jo, your cushions are gorgeous and I love that they are made from recycled materials. Love the Twiddlemuffs - what a brilliant idea for a good cause, one that I would never have thought of. So much to admire this week. The Katie Morag 'kilt' with the false pin is fabulous. Look forward to seeing what your busy fingers have been up to next week. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #64

Oh we had the same idea! I too had a cushion made out of an old sweater! So soft! Happy WOYWW! patsy
It's amazing but reassuring to read that you are following a pattern for something! I love the cushion covers, in particular that you managed to include a little pocket to hide treats for Ben. That would not have occurred to me whilst I was trying to make the shirt into
2 covers! How thoughtful!
Great post as usual, Jo, love your muffs with all the textures very nice indeed, seems funny when I'm sitting under a fan at night in summery cotton... Have fun on the homeward run of sorting.
Happy WOYWW!

thanks for visiting.
I LOVE the cushions - they look very cuddly :). Thanks for your visit earlier in ther week - Sorry I am late! soojay xx
The cushions are lovely and great recycling. What a good idea to put little pockets in for surprises for little Ben. I love your Twiddlemuffs. I did read it and what a wonderful idea. My poor mum used to love cuddling and stroking soft toys after her stroke. Things like this mean an awful lot. Well done. Barbxx
Hi Jo,
You have been quite busy! I like the look of the mufflers! At first I thought they were fingerless mittens.
Happy belated WOYWW

Thanks for your comment, Jo! Just thought I'd tell you that the owl fabric was from Quilters Trading Post.
I'm really enjoying making a variety of items and I've really got stuck in as I have so much on from now until the event in May so that's my effort towards it ... all done and dusted.
