My daughter Maxine's display of beautiful needle-felted pictures at the craft fair certainly made me smile. They all looked so lovely and she had made a big effort to set her stall out so nicely.
Hopefully she will get a few more sales in the New Year. She has a few on her Tilly Tea Dance Etsy shop at the moment.
Now I know Annie will be recoiling in horror at this - sorry Annie.
This gorgeous slow worm was right outside my back door this week.
He was so beautiful and looked like an 8 inch molten copper bracelet.
I have never seen one close-up before.
He isn't a snake Annie - he is a member of the lizard family I think.
I think he is living under the paving slabs near the manhole cover.
Hope I haven't spooked too many of you today!!
Hope you like my Friday show and tell and that it has raised a smile too.
Join in with Annie's smiles over on her "A stitch in time" blog.
x Jo

Nope I'm not smiling [I am really] .....can you tell me when I can look again please :-)
I'm sure if you don't like snakes he is truly beautiful but I'm sorry to say that although he is a legless lizard he is far too snake like for my liking.
Hugs,

Of course I meant to say...'if you LIKE snakes'!
I am obviously traumatised from seeing your pic and just don't know what I'm saying any more :-)
hehehe

How fantastic!!
I haven't seen one this year though I'm amazed to see one in December as I thought they hibernated!
Fabulous creatures!
Gah, slow worms. I don't care how beautiful...they are all around our Joinery workshop..I don't like 'em..mostly because Im frightened of treading on one when I'm carrying stuff between buildings and can't really see where I'm going!
They are stunningly beautiful... still think I'd freak out a little if I saw one when I wasn't expecting it! :)
no spooking here i love slow worms, my cat used to bring them to us, poor things. They are so sweet.
Merry Christmas
Gill xx
Maxin's poppy pics are gorgeous and I have a similar card that you sent me which I will frame! Love it.
I did really think the worm was a copper bangle and I immediately thought that the point would catch on clothes! It's sheen and shape is quite beautiful. I am not squeamy or scared of anything that won't harm me.
Yes! The pencil museum is in Keswick... it will be my next post.

Lovely felted pieces. Hope they sell well for her in the new year. I too thought you were displaying some wire work bangle. Loved the metallic sheen. Not squeamish but work hesitate if I saw one IRL.
Wow, love slow worms, they are so beautiful!
Happy christmas!

Hi Jo, Maxine's poppy embroideries are gorgeous and the table is laid out beautifully. I really did think the worm was a copper bangle so imagine my surprise to find it's real - isn't nature wonderful :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
What a busy bunny Maxine has been.
I love slow worms and if I find one in the Girls' run I try to get it out before the Girls find him/her. They should be hibernating! I think nature is confused!

Your little fella is gorgeous, they don't bother me I love watching them and would happy wear a bracelet like that.... Not a real snake of course.
Love the felies too... I still have one from the first ATC swap last year
Happy Christmas to you and yours
Janet
oH..I like your little nature specimen..haven't seen anything like it before. It is a pretty color.
And it did make me SMILE. Thanks for sharing.
Never seen a slow-worm in real life, that does look like a bracelet.
Lovely needlefelt work, hope the craft fair went well.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Carol xx
