WOYWW

Another week has flown by and I'm afraid my desk has seen very little crafty action this week.

We have been enjoying a few trips out, including a wine tasting visit to our local vineyard at Hencote.

It was an excellent tour of the vineyard and then we tasted some delicious wines. Who knew Shropshire has the perfect climate for wine making on the south facing slopes, on the northern side of Shrewsbury?

It has a wonderful restaurant with the most amazing views across the Shropshire hills. A real treat.

Yesterday I went with Max to take down her exhibition at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. There had been two long, full walls of her work in July but only a few pictures were left on one wall when we got there! She was mighty pleased with the results of her efforts.

This was one of her remaining pictures. It may end up on my wall if she doesn't want to save it for her local outlets πŸ˜ƒ

So that's me for this week.

Have a good week all

 Good morning all.

I had a busy week last week and spent Wednesday morning helping Tilly Tea Dance set up her exhibition at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.

Her display looked wonderful and she sold two pictures before they even made it onto the wall!

Hopefully the rest will sell quickly too

This is just a small section of her display.

I have spent the last few days preparing workshop packs and inspiration packs for her.

Yesterday I stitched brooch backs onto her little sheep brooches ready for their trip up to the Old School Gallery at Muker in the Yorkshire Dales. If you are in the area it's worth a visit as it has lots of wonderful local artwork.

Here's my desk ready for stitchy action.....

And here is my box of silky Madeira threads that I use for edging these bookmarks....

Today I will be mostly relaxing and watching  tennis and football. I think I deserve a restπŸ˜ƒ

I hope you are all well and enjoying the sport and some summer weather

Have great week

WOYWW

 Welcome to Wonderful WOYWW!

I have caught up with all my admin and have a few minutes to myself.

So, it's Autumn and evenings are cool enough to enjoy a bit of twiddler knitting.

These were the colours in my bag when I picked up my chunky needles again.....

I am going to make it a bit sparkly and stitch on one of my little knitted fairies πŸ˜€

Last week was hectic. I helped Tilly Tea Dance to set up her exhibition at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms  Luckily it will be there until after Christmas, including their Frost Fair. Hopefully her artwork will be sold and make all her hard work worthwhile.

Then, I fell foul of the cough and cold bug. I tested negative for COVID so it is just my usual winter cough but I have barking away and had lots of sleepless nights. I told Annie my desk would just have a bottle of cough medicine and a pack of panty liners today!

So that's it from me.

The sun is shining and I should be out with my school friends enjoying a walk and lunch but I didn't feel like barking my way through lunch or passing the bug on to them.

I hope you are all well and able to get out and about.

Have a good week.

WOYWW

Oops! I don't know where time goes.

It's Wednesday morning and I am a day behind in getting my WOYWW post together.

I have been really busy getting Tilly Tea Dance artwork priced labelled etc for her exhibition at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms. She has her work there for two months, including their Frost Fair.

It's always a busy time. Here are just a couple of her little needle felted pictures..

And here is my work for later..

I need to satin stitch around the. bookmarks  and package them.

She also has several workshops, so I have been making up packs of tiny fluff rainbows.🌈

And then, this morning Max is coming round so I can help her make a Roman soldier helmet for Ben to wear, with his costume, for Roman Day this week. It is the end of their school topic on Romans so I guess it will involve a few typical activities. ?!! All good fun!

So that's me for this week.

I hope I can visit a few desks later

Have a good week.

WOYWW

 Good morning all.

Today I am helping Tilly Tea Dance to set up her exhibition at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.

I am just hoping that I have managed to get everything labelled and listed correctly.

She has a lot of lovely artwork, cards, coasters, bookmarks etc. Fingers crossed that the good folk in the area love it and want to buy it!

Here are a few of her pictures which are for sale...

Below are the latest cheery twiddlers.
Those giant buttons are perfect for the job - very tactile and bright so a good visual stimulus too.

I am hoping that I get a chance to link with Julia before I set off - if not I will try when I get home.
(I have actually managed to do it from my phone for the last 2 weeks and even leave Julia a comment which I hadn't been able to do for ages.)

Have a good week all.

WOYWW

This is the reason that I am not at my workdesk today.....

In just over a week, I have mounted, labelled, numbered and catalogued over a hundred items.
There are pictures large and small, cards, pendants, bookmarks, coasters and prints.

Today Max will be taking it all down to Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms and displaying it in their gallery.

Of course, mine is a fun day as Ben will be here to entertain me!

Have a great week everyone.

WOYWW

It is that time again!
I have been busy putting together little inspiration packs for Max to give out on her Tilly Tea Dance workshops. They are very popular so this time I have made 60.

I love sorting through all the lovely bags of "fluff" and yarns to coordinate these little gifts.
It does tend to take over my sewing space until I eventually get them into little cellophane bags.
AND then, I even had time for a bit of yarn dyeing this week.
These worked well and will be useful for some of Tilly's backgrounds.

She has an exhibition starting next week at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms so, we will be busy putting a collection of her pictures together this week.

So, that's my craftiness for this week - see you for another trip around the WOYWW desks next week!

WOYWW

My left over CROP 10 ATCs have been re-purposed into little dumfling cards. I just chopped off the text and mounted them on linen in a 3 fold card. They will make nice little Thank You cards I think.

These are few of Tilly Tea Dance's latest needle felted pictures that I have mounted and framed for her. She is having an exhibition at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, Craven Arms soon and is busy stocking up. These tiny ones are perfect for a little gift but she now needs to make a few large felted pictures.

My other little job is to stitch name labels on Ben's school uniform - I can't believe how fast the last 5 years have flown. He is really looking forward to going with all his pre-school buddies and has a couple of visits this month.

So that's it for this week.

Thanks Shaz for your ATC which came via Annie - I don't know how we missed out on the day!
I have put all my ATCs in a picture frame in my sewing room. They really are lovely.

See you next week.

Summer Exhibition

Good morning all!
Well after a few weeks absence, I am back posting a few pictures for my WOYWW buddies to enjoy.
We have had a couple of really busy weeks. Maxine had a crafters' demo table at Burwurton Show and then she spent last week preparing for her Summer exhibition at The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms.

So, I have been helping out by mounting pictures and of course.......

The best job in the world - looking after Ben. We have devised a few new games - Crab apple basket ball using the composter, wet giants (a game in wellies on a rainy day) and World Benthletics - races and field activities on Nanny's back lawn. He can run much faster than I can now!

As for my crafty activities - well my room is slowly being taken over by packaging and bubble wrap...

I don't mind - it's so good to see her little business flourish and great to be able to help out.
In the evenings I am finishing off  about 40 Chocolate Orange Christmas puddings. Ha ha - sounds like I am eating them!! No, just knitting to stop me falling asleep after busy days.
My scar face is healing nicely but still feels tight and I know it sounds silly but it wears me out by the end of a day. I guess it's all the extra effort needed to move my facial muscles over tight skin - would help if I just kept quiet but that's not likely to happen!!

So, that's me for this week.
I hope you are all well and enjoying this changeable August weather. We have had some lovely sunny days - not too hot - just fresh and beautiful.

Have a great week.

xx Jo
