WOYWW

 Welcome to WOYWW.

I have actually managed a little bit of crafty sewing this week.

I am helping Annie to use some of that lovely donated fabric. She gave me a piece of quilted fabric and some matching fabrics. I have made a little tissue box cover. They look nice on a desk or dressing table so I thought I would make a few.

Then Max called round with a bundle of yarns that she wanted me to dye, for use in her felted pictures. They were mixed, pale colours and I dyed them in one mix of green. It always surprised me just how different the shades turn out. Some were a bit pale so added more dye and popped them back in. It's always a bit hit and miss but that's what I like about the random results.

Lastly, this is a tiny orchid that Annie gave me. She took it from her own plant and it was just two tiny leaves last year, when she potted it up. Now I have three beautiful little blooms on it.

That's me for this week.

I hope you have enjoyed the cricket and tennis as much as me!

x x Jo

I am very much enjoying both Jo. Love the tissue box covers and the coloured strands for felting are so varied colour wise. What a lovely orchid too. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. sarah #3

The tissue box cover is really lovely, so neat and a great way to use up the fabric! I was stunned at how much there was in the box that arrived yesterday! I’m washing it at the moment so my clothes horse is going to look pretty later! I wish I could hang it outside but it’s quite drizzly here this morning. What a cute little orchid too, I always seem to have the kiss of death with houseplants, lol!

Great tissue box covers and just love the idea of dying all the yarns the same colour! Reminded me of when my son was born and I died some of the girls white matinee coats (remember them!!) blue . . . like you amazed at the different shades.
Enjoy your week

Tissue bix covers are lovely although I’m guessing it may have been a challenging sew with the quilted fabric. I’m always amazed that natural fibres take on dye differently and the green tones are beautiful. Happy sewing. Catriona

I just know I would enjoy dyeing yarns like you do. I love the venture into the unknown and that is about as far as i would get these days. More adventurous pursuits have now passed me by.
Love the little tissue boxes.

What a pretty orchid. Love the variations you get in the wool. I take it it is special dye, does it keep for long or do you have to make it fresh each time? Happy WOYWW. Angela #11

I absolutely love my tissue box cover Jo, in daily view because it's so easy to have around instead of the glaring designs on the boxes! Love the fabric you've used there too...a bit Klimt...the quilting is a real bonus. We'll done with the little orchid, isn't it pretty. I'm useless with them, all houseplants are in mortal danger in my home! The yarns died well didn't they and all together like that I thought you'd started a canvas or some textile wonder!

I adore your lovely fabric tissue box covers. Goodness, they would liven up any room. Very Klimt, too.

I love dyeing my own fabric, so I was quite enthused to see the different effects the dyes took to each of these yarns. These turned out great and most impressive, too.

Wow, that is a beautiful orchid. Bless Annie for giving you that shoot. Happy WOYWW from # 2.

Gorgeous tissue box cover Jo. Love all the different dyed greens (at least none of them match our green knickers lol).

Cute little tissue boxes! I have these things everywhere, but not as pretty as that! The yarns turned out gorgeous, all those luscious greens! I always find orchids amazing, they are so beautiful and exotic. I see them all the time on the grocery store's Floral Department, but I'm hesitant to get one! I would probably kill it. Have a great week, Lindart #17
