WOYWW

Good morning to all my WOYWW friends and anyone else who pops in to see what I am up to.

Well this week I have been in my sewing room and my sewing machine has seen a bit of action - Yes!!

Max found a holiday shirt that she wanted me to upcycle for Ben.

Not quite as easy as I thought but it didn't take too long.

I cut it out using the existing hems and button bands so that helped. It was just the collar that needed careful thought but the end result looks fine and will make a nice, cool summer shirt.

I mentioned paper bag shorts last week and caused confusion 😀

Basically they are just shorts with a bit above the waist band. (Imagine a paper bag held together at the top with a bit of the bag gathered above your hand).

Here they are ...

I just made them with a bit of left over fabric to make sure they fit etc before we go looking for something suitable to make them up in. I feel a trip to Watson and Thornton's coming on!

I also managed a bit of knitting whilst watching the footie this week.

This is my summer themed twiddler...

And then, in the post came this lovely card and ATC from Felicia.

So good to see little snapshots from around the world in a postcard and a beautiful ATC to go with it. Thanks lots Felicia.

Well that's me for this week.

I hope you have a great week.

xx Jo

I was holding my breath as I read through your post and then it came - a Twiddlemitt. I so missed seeing one last week. It certainly was worth the wait tooi - it was so pretty and summery and it had poppies on it. Thank you!
What a fabulous shirt you made for Ben - you are the ideal gran - there is no end to your talent.
Take care, have a good week

A week wouldn’t be the same without a twiddlemit Jo, especially a brightly coloured one.
Have a good week, let’s hope for some warm weather. It’s proper hit and miss here in Whitworth

I knew you’d mail that short conversion! It’s brilliant and Ben will have a lovely time in that, keeping cool (in both sense of the word, lol!). I like the fabric you’ve made those shorts in and would live and die in them as I wear shorts pretty much all through from May to October - of I’m in the house, I wouldn’t inflict my legs on the general populace, lol! Summer twiddler rock, love the poppies xx

Ben will look dapper in that holiday shirt! I'm not sure I could pull off (as in wear!) those shorts - maybe in my younger years with a skinny midriff! Happy WOYWW! xx zsuzsa #21

What a fabulous shirt. You did a great job recycling it into an awesome summer shirt. I like the shorts, too, but I could never make them. I can't sew a straight line. Your latest Twiddler is simply adorable. I love the poppies and the birds. Happy WOYWW from # 5.

Happy Belated WOYWW. That shirt is fantastic and I saw that type of shorts mentioned on the Great British Sewing Bee. All we need now is some warm sunshine so I can get my legs out again! Love the summery twiddler. Ali x #24

Great remake. sometimes a challenge makes us feel like we have accomplished something !! When my 2 sons were small I made all their clothes/swimsuits etc..then they started school and it was garage sale time !! Enjoy a great week and happy twiddling. They are always adorable.

Later as usual these days, sorry! a love the seasonal twiddler, had no idea you were doing them in front of the tv…that means you don’t even have to look at them? Good grief!! I’m envious of your planned trip to W and T, bet it will end being more than just a length to make some shorts! I think paper bag shorts were amongst the first things I was taught to make and the ‘pattern’ has served me well every since! Brilliant job on the blouse to shirt for Ben, not sure I could have done that, I find alterations difficult to get my head around!
