WOYWW 800

 WOYWW 800 post celebrations...

Well fancy being part of a group who has been posting  and sharing their work desks once a week for 800 posts - wonderful!

I have been involved since January 2010.... .

twiglet: What's on your workdesk Wednesday! (twiglet5.blogspot.com)

The link takes you to that first post. Looking back through my old posts was fun. I was amazed at how many things I had made and shared with my WOYWW buddies over the years...

My needle felting machine. You might remember we referred to needle felting as dumfing.. it's the noise you make as you felt the wool to the base fabric.

A few things that I decorated with dumfing. .

And then I found this photo....

A mermaid tail that I made and modelled for you.🤣

And just a few more random bits and bobs..  .

Sock dolls

Katie Morag doll

and outfit - made lots of times!

I don't know how I found the time to produce the multitude of items shared in my old posts but it has certainly kept me busy and it's lovely to share with others.

So, thanks to Julia and now Sarah for keeping us all going.
Annie and I raised a glass to you all last night when she came round whilst the men were at footie.
Cheers!

WOYWW

 Good morning all!
It's been a bit chilly over here on the Welsh border but as yet, not much snow.
My table is covered with woolly bits and bobs today. I am going to make some funky bags and I am using some re-cycled felted wool and some furnishing fabric. I will show and tell once I get going with them.

On the left is a tote bag that I made from furnishing velvet. The gorgeous little brooch was a gift from our blogging buddy in the Phillipines - Patsy of Create with Joy and everyone who sees it comments on it.

The cute little dollies are a couple of my sock dolls who are lounging round waiting for me to take their picture so that they can go back in the shop.

I took them out into the garden for their snaps......

This one is Dotty..

I think Dotty might have a curly hair-do before she goes back in the shop.

And this one is Tottie.....

She looks cosy in her woolly outfit with her hat, scarf and little shoulder bag.

Lastly, here is my little orchid that for no apparent reason throws out these gorgeous little blooms occasionally. Isn't it pretty - and blue sky behind too!

Have a great week.
It is always lovely to have so many folks popping in to see what I have been up to.
Don't forget to checkout the bargains and the Valentine's shelf in our Sisters Crafty Creations shop.

Katie Morag sock doll

Just a quick post to share my latest little sock doll with you.

My niece is a teacher (the one expecting twins!) and she wanted a little doll to use with the Katie Morag stories for next half term. I told her I would help reduce her work load where I can!

So, here she is..... Little Katie Morag complete with her own leather post bag. I made her a little cotton bag with her picture on the front and popped her in to take to Annie's. M was there marking test papers and she was thrilled with her new doll!! (We are easily pleased!)
I made her skirt fabric on my embellishing machine. I didn't have any green/yellow tartan fabric so I just created some with felt and yarn!. I even stitched a silver kilt pin on!!

Ok - now I must get down to work. I have a little pink Christening heart to make.
Have a great day everyone.
The sun is shining - its a perfect day here!

WOYWW

Good morning all!
Tuesday was damp, foggy and gloomy so let's hope the sun shines today!!

My window sill has 2 little sock bunnies in woolly bags and a stripey bird in its travel bag.
All my other sock dolls are tucked into their travel bags too. They look smart with their names embroidered on the front of each bag.

The bunnies are waiting patiently to go over to Tina's shop - Indigo Moon in Montgomery. She has a lovely Easter display and my little sock buddies can't wait to join in the festivities!
If you are looking for Mother's Day gifts or just want to browse a delightful Aladdin's cave of little treasures then treat yourself to a ride over to Montgomery and take a peek. Tina has just had an article published in Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine and has a fab display of her mixed media pictures in the shop.

Not a lot going on over here. I had a weekend away and funday Monday with Wipso, so Tuesday was catch up day!
You can see the little felted sweater hearts on my table beside my car boot copy of Alice in Wonderland. I thought it might be fun to cut up some of the pages and use it in my collages. If any one wants some typically "Alice" text, then leave a comment and I will cut up a few pages and send you some.

Now folks, we are looking for nominations for our fourth and final weekly 'Joannie'. The award will be......

One of our sets of desk accessories.

This includes a cover for those 'all important' baby wipes, that you crafters use to clean your rubber stamps etc, plus a needle case, for your needles or long crafting pins and a matching pin cushion.

So pop over to Sisters Crafty Creations and leave a comment if you want to be in it to win it!

Short post today so I can quickly link to Julia's blog and pop over to a few desks and see what you are all up to!
Have a great day!!

Oh so fickle Scruffy!

Dusty has gone on her travels.
She popped into her travel bag and after checking her label was securely attached, Twiglet posted her to her new owner.

Well, you would think Scruffy may have been a little subdued.
No chance.
He found Dusty's twin sister, Tottie,  sitting demurely watching Twiglet make a new little friend. As you can see, he has snuggled up to her and all thoughts of Dusty are well and truly gone - oh so fickle Scruffy!!!

Meanwhile Pinxie has her eye on the new desk tidy and matching items which are all ready to go in Sisters Crafty Creations blog shop. She thinks the baby wipe holder, needle case and pin cushion would match her outfit perfectly and I am inclined to agree. She is certainly in the pink!!

And the latest news from the blog shop
Emmys, Brits, Oscars and now......... the Joannies!

Today we are awarding our first Joannie.
This is the first give away for our new range of crafter's accessories.

Our first give away gift is the crafter's apron. We had such a wonderful response...over 60 great blogging buddies left brilliant comments and feedback......we decided we would give 2 aprons away.
So pop over to Sisters Crafty Creations and see who won.
Then, while you are there - leave a comment on this week's gift - a pretty penroll. This time next week you could be the lucky winner!

Oh - and the aprons are now on sale in the blog shop if you are interested.

WOYWW - Dusty meets Pinxie

Good morning all!

A pretty array for you to peruse this morning.
After a wonderful fun day Monday, little Pinxie came home to join her new friends. Of course Scruffy disgraced himself (See post below!). But Dusty seems to like our new pink and punky little friend.
So, here they are, sitting on my table with the 2 scented valentine hearts, a new little phone cosy and a cute little scented owl. You may recognise the felted sweater fabric in the pile below.

Today, I am hoping to create a few more items with my recycled sweaters - maybe a few brooches for Springtime to go with the heart brooches already in the blog shop.
Wipso and I have updated the blog shop and put lots more crafty creations on the shelves so do pop over and have a peek.

Just to say.... There is a fab "GIVE AWAY" on Jensters blog so pop over and help her celebrate her 50th birthday!!

Then nip over to the lovely Julia's blog and join in the mad Wednesday blog hop.
Thanks for calling in here - I love to hear from you all and I will get round to as many blogs as possible this week and see what you have been up to.

Scruffy and the new kid on the block!

Well Scruffy - you have have really let yourself down today!!!

Look at you - our new little friend Pinxie calls to visit Dusty and you just can't wait to to climb up and say "hello". Unfortunately your shorts are at half mast and you are exposing your builders bum to everyone!
Dusty is really disappointed in you. She thought she had a more than a little romance going on with you and now it looks as if you are easily swayed by a bit of funky pink frizz and a belly button stud!

Well Scruffy - with Valentine's Day only a week away, I think your best plan is to pop over to Sisters Crafty Creations blog shop and treat Dusty to a pretty gift from the new collection. Wipso and Twiglet have been really busy creating some fab little treasures and I am sure you will find a nice heart brooch for her.
I hope, that by WOYWW, you will have sorted things out between you and Dusty - oh and for goodness sake - Pull your shorts up!!

Quick update!

Wipso has this on her blog - she wants us to pass it round.
So if you would like to pass on some love then pick up the pic and pop it on your blog so that we can send some love around the world!!!

WOYWW - it's me again!

Well folks, it's Scruffy manning the desk on Wednesday again and you have caught me reading Twiglet's new book.
She thinks her friends bought it for her but really they knew I would like to meet a few new friends, so they bought it, so that I could link up with one or two. I am not sure if  I am supposed to email them or check them out on Facebook!! I have noticed one or two interesting characters like sad monkey and the frog. I will have a word with Twiglet and see if she approves of them first of course. It would be nice to meet a few like minds to chat over old times. Perhaps I can invite them round so that you can meet them one Wednesday.

Poor old Twiglet caught the bug that everyone else has. She has been coughing and sneezing for days! I also noticed that it's been very quiet in the sewing room here and I heard her say she has lost her mojo. I have looked everywhere but can't find it so I hope it returns soon. It's just not like Twiglet to sit around looking glum. I wonder if Wipso has found it. "Hey, Wipso have you got Twiglet's mojo? No? And you have lost yours too? What a careless pair you are!!!"

Oh well it looks like I shall have to do the rounds and check out Mr Linky. I noticed that Julia - queen of snoop - won Twiglet's brooch give-away yesterday. Well if anyone deserves a bit of good luck she does! Well done Julia - hope you like it.
Oh and I am supposed to remind you that Wipso and Twiglet (Sisters Crafty Creations) have a sale on in the blog shop. I hope they don't sell all my sock doll friends or I will have noone to play with - well, until I sort out these little mates in my new catalogue - er book!!
OK - back to scanning the pages. See you soon. x x x Scruffy

The craft fairy and WOYWW.

Well today, dear WOYWWers, the little craft fairy has been busy on my table!!
On Saturday Wipso and I went off to the craft fair, leaving behind daughter M for an hour or two. She has very little time to craft in her busy working week, so, I guess leaving her in my craft room was a great temptation!! When I came home, she had gone back to town and left these goodies for me to consider!!!
I think she would like me to run up a couple of cushions so, I may do just that, this snowy afternoon.

My window ledge is littered with gorgeous crochet flowers just waiting to be added to a crafty project or two. Any ideas? I have used some for my brooches in the blog shop.

Now the pic above was the little birdy Wipso had on her bird table this week!! lol - a huge, fluffed up male pheasant. He was very brave too, even when the three dogs were allowed out, he just hid under the bushes and kept very still! All three dogs went straight past him and didn't seem to notice him.

And lastly, I think little Scruffy decided to choose his Christmas tree today. He is outside eyeing up my tiny fir tree in the snow and has his little clippers in his duffle bag at the ready.......Oh no! Tim - ber!!!!!!!

Ha - and now I expect I will have to help him carry it in and decorate it!!!

OK - enough Twiglet madness - hop over to Julia's blog if you want to join in with the WOYWW fun.
Thanks for calling - take a look at our earlier posts if you want to know more about our Christmas crafty activities! Or pop over to the blog shop and check out our new goodies.

Craft fair goodies!

Here are just a few of the goodies we are taking to the Montgomery Craft Fair on Saturday!

All the items in this picture have been made over the last year and are already in our blog shop.

(Click on the Poppy picture link on the right of my blog if you would like to check out the rest of the items in the shop!)

The items below are not in the blog shop so you would need to leave a message in my comments and I will get back to you, if you would like to buy any of them. (Postage extra)

The sock dolls posed so nicely for this snap.
Snow bunny snuggled down in her own cosy little bag and Zebra thought she would blink when the flash went off, so she kept her eyes wide open!
Scruffy sat quietly for a change and the others just mooched in the corner.

Sock dolls, like these, are not toys for children under three, as they have buttons and attached bits and bobs.  Snow bunny in bag £10.50
Others £7.50

These little tissue box covers come with or without a box of tissues. ( Cheaper to post without)
£5 with Kleenex cube
£3.50 without.

My last two items are made from re-cycled sweaters.
The cushion is made from a pure wool, made in Scotland sweater. It has a front, buttoned opening and is about 12" x 12". £18

The tea pot cosy is made from a gorgeous pure wool Fairisle- style jumper and has a detachable brooch in toning colours on the front. £9

Wipso made these gorgeous little Christmas creatures.
The little Christmas mice have ribbons so that they can hang on your tree. They are about 3" tall.£2.75

The teddies can also hang on your tree and have a little poem as well.£1.75

Yo! We are WOYWW!

We have taken over the desk today!
Sorry, but we spilled buttons all over as we were lining up for our photo call!!
Betsy mooched over to her new friend Max, and stood with her hands in her pockets, while the others got ready. Snow bunny was worried that his ears looked big.
Scruffy pulled his shorts up 'cos Betsy said she could see his builder's bum.
He slung his bag over his shoulder and smiled for the photographer.
He sat on a pile of new socks - they were warm and comfy and strangely familiar.
I am Ziggy Zebra and I am supposed to be in charge, so she put me up on the window sill with the mad rainbow chick. Check me out here if you want to see what I look like.
That little sketch looks cute - I bet its something that brill artist from Tasmania drew. She makes fab pics of those cute little dolls - Little Arty Crafty Crow - I think she is called.
So, what do we all do now.
I suppose a bit of tidying up would be a good idea.
That check fabric is nice - maybe she will make something exciting with it.
She is always busy with something.
Oh well here goes....
" Right you lot - start putting those buttons back in the jar!"
Oh, I nearly forgot - I need to nip over to Julia's blog and put Twiglet's name on Mr Linky.
Pop over if you want to see what the others are up to.
See ya!!

WOYWW after a few crafty activities

Good morning all - I hope you are all feeling fine on this wonderful Wednesday!
Lots to look at on my table today....
On the right is the gorgeous pure wool sweater which I bought from our local car boot and  felted in the washing machine. Below it you can see some little brooches which I am making from small squares cut from the sweater. Also I have made a little purse for my camera.

In the middle is the pale turquoise hoodie that I have been knitting for P. I just have the zip to put in and then I am going to embroider some cream daisies down the front.
I also decided to knit another shrug using Sirdar Crofter - I love the colours.
The little lilac brooch was made using woollen fabric and yarns with a beaded centre.

And finally.... this is the little bag made from the lower part of the re-cycled sweater. I love the colours and patterns and think it looks great with the little wooden handles. It will probably go in the blog shop with my other bags.
So, another busy week and I have even managed a shopping trip with daughter M. and a fun day Monday with Wipso!

Hope you have enjoyed your weekly snoop.
If you want to see more WOYWW exposed then hop over to Julia's blog and join in the fun!

PS for a close up of my sock dolls on the window sill, check out the post below!

Meet the new creations!

Ziggy Zebra would like to introduce you to two new sock dolls.
Rainbow Chick is made from two toe socks. Little Betsy, who is just mooching round with her hands in her pockets, is made from short sockettes or trainer liners.
I think they are fun and I certainly enjoyed making them.
They are filled with polyester filling and trimmed with buttons etc.
They make fun collectables but, because of the buttons etc, would not be suitable for tinies.
They might go into the blog shop or maybe help to stock the stall at a our local craft fair.
I have lots more socks to create with so will be busy over the next few weeks!!
