WOYWW

 Good morning all!
It's been a bit chilly over here on the Welsh border but as yet, not much snow.
My table is covered with woolly bits and bobs today. I am going to make some funky bags and I am using some re-cycled felted wool and some furnishing fabric. I will show and tell once I get going with them.

On the left is a tote bag that I made from furnishing velvet. The gorgeous little brooch was a gift from our blogging buddy in the Phillipines - Patsy of Create with Joy and everyone who sees it comments on it.

The cute little dollies are a couple of my sock dolls who are lounging round waiting for me to take their picture so that they can go back in the shop.

I took them out into the garden for their snaps......

This one is Dotty..

I think Dotty might have a curly hair-do before she goes back in the shop.

And this one is Tottie.....

She looks cosy in her woolly outfit with her hat, scarf and little shoulder bag.

Lastly, here is my little orchid that for no apparent reason throws out these gorgeous little blooms occasionally. Isn't it pretty - and blue sky behind too!

Have a great week.
It is always lovely to have so many folks popping in to see what I have been up to.
Don't forget to checkout the bargains and the Valentine's shelf in our Sisters Crafty Creations shop.

Waste not want not - upcycled sweater creations!

I still have a stash of felted sweaters that need upcycling. They sit in a bag for life and occasionally call to me from the corner of my sewing room!

Today was one of those days.

So out came the pale turquoise, embroidered sweater by Jackpot.

I have already made a little lined bag using one of the sleeves.

Today I used a little of the other sleeve to make a phone cosy.

Wipso said her phone is not out of use long enough to need a cosy but some folk like to pop their phone/camera or ipod into a little pouch when carrying it round.

So with a bit of ingenuity, I made a little cosy using the cuff from the sleeve for a turn over top.

Its lined with bright pink cotton fabric and looks rather cute, I think.

Then, of course there was just enough left to make a little heart-shaped "dumfling".

Its now a little brooch, embellished with silk, wool and beads.

Now I was on a roll, so out came a scrap from the tweedy blue/grey sweater that I had used for another bag, now in the blog shop. I dumfed an oblong piece with silk and wool and then beaded it up.

How's that for upcycling?
I will probably pop them in the blog shop later - if Wipso will allow it!!!

Upcycling in snowy weather.

I know it sounds like a health and fitness tip - actually, its just the opposite.
I have been cosily tucked up in my little sewing room doing what Wipso told me to do yesterday. She challenged me to make something with my felted sweaters before buying any more!

So, always ready to rise to a challenge, this is what I have been busy with......

I love the colours in this tweedy jumper and Wipso thought it would go well with the mauve lambswool and angora polo neck jumper, that I had felted down to a size 6. I think she was right.
I found a little bag in my cupboard that I used for a pattern for the outside and I revamped it's lining for the inside of my bag.
I used the embellisher to create the design on the front and back and then beaded it.
As it only has one main pattern piece and two side gussets, it was easy to put together. It just needed a little coaxing to attach the lining to the inside. The handles were on the old bag so I just swapped them onto my new one.
I thought a little detachable matching brooch would be fun.

So, what do you think?

I should also thank Marmaladerose for inspiring me to sew a little every day as she suggested in her New Year's resolution.
