WOYWW

It's definitely a good day for snowmen!

This is my latest little placemat.

And to continue the theme.....

We had about 3 inches of snow yesterday.

I was up early and made this snowman by 8 o'clock.

The eagle-eyed amongst you might notice the scarf is made from strands of wool 😀 Of course my snowman is only about 10 inches tall and sitting on my bin. I did it as a joke for Ben. (It's what I do!)

I've been busy with flower/hedgerows workshop packs this week...
Lots of rainbow packs of wool rovings all ready to pop into their bags ready for next week. I like to get them finished early so that there is no last minute panic.

And lastly, my job for tomorrow......
Just a few more bookmarks for Tilly Tea Dance.
I love choosing the right coloured Madeira rayon thread to edge them with.
I like to be busy.🤣
So that's me for this week.
I hope you are managing to stay well and cosy.

Have a good week.

WOYWW

 Good morning all.

Here we are again sharing our crafty activity for the week.

I have had a few spare hours so I have been busy in my craft room for a change.

Unusually for me, I began making my Christmas cards nice and early. I fancied doing a bit of fabric collage.

I made several background pieces made with strips of fabric Bondawebbed onto a piece of white satin

Then I created little fabric poinsettia and holly leaves and berries.

Each one is different and I really enjoyed making them.

Then, my friend asked if I could make a little Christmas placemats. Out came my scraps of Christmas fabric to create a little patchwork with a collage beside it. Cute isn't it. I put a red spotty border and backing on it

Sadly, I forgot to take photo of the finished mat.

I have more fabric now to create another one for a little boy. Maybe a little elf collage for this one.

This week I will be edging bookmarks and making up workshop packs for Tilly Tea Dance. Hopefully folks will get their orders in to her early so that she can get them posted out before the Christmas rush. She has a well stocked Etsy shop at the moment.

Well that's me for this week.

Have a good week all.

WOYWW

We had a busy half term week with lots of time spent with Ben. We loved every minute.

We  baked bread, made a Tudor pottage with his recipe from school, shopped, practiced our keep uppy skills, drew and played games. Much fun had by all.

So my crafty activity has been limited to some lovely knitting for little folk and framing for Max.

This is the next size hoodie like I made earlier in the year.

And here is a little bolero cardie.

I love the ice cream colours of this one.

So that's it for me.

I have to take my car for service and MOT so hope all goes well.

Have a good week all

WOYWW

Good morning all.

Pop over to Sarah's Craft Shed and link up if you want to join in with our desk share. We are a friendly bunch!

I've had quite a busy week.

Above you can see some of the fluff and yarns that I dyed for Max. She always needs lots of textural bits and bobs for the undergrowth and hedgerows etc in her Tilly Tea Dance artwork.

Next, I used some of my denim to make a book cover. The little sheep landscape was on one of Maxine's Christmas cards for us. So, I am recycling it on the little pen pocket and will give it to her Dad for Christma. It is made with bits of his old jeans after all.😀

And then, I knitted this little sprout chocolate orange cover. It took ages and I won't be making another! I think Ben will like it as he also loves sprouts.
And lastly, I fancied knitting another twiddle mitt. I haven't made one for ages . The colours don't show up well here. The stripes beside the bobbles are grey with a lurex thread so it looks like snow. I will add a few winter theme twiddly bits later

So that's me for this week

Have a good week all!

WOYWW

Just a quick post this week for WOYWW.

I have been busy entertaining and having fun with Ben. He is a delight and we have enjoyed having him here.

Last week I managed a bit of time embroidering a little needle felted card for my little sis.

And then, this week, I started a new cardi for my friend's granddaughter.

The yarn is overall a bit more peachy than this section shows so, I hope it will knit up nicely.

I love a bit of random yarn but do like to try to match both sides! Mad, I know but it just annoys me if they don't look the same or similar though I am sure they are intended to be completely randomly worked. 😀

So that's me for this week.

Enjoy your week- especially now the darker evenings are upon us and you can get cosy and crafty.

WOYWW

Good morning to all my WOYWW friends and anyone else who likes to pop in and see what I am up to.

This week I have managed a bit of sewing in my room.

I made a new ironing board cover for Max and also a little threads bin for her workshop.

Then I got my homework up to date by edging another ten bookmarks.

I like the cool greens best but think the warm olive greens look good too

I've also been mounting and framing some of her best selling, tiny felted and embroidered artworks.

It's been great to spend time crafting.

I expect I shall be busy with Nanny duties next week as it is the half term holiday for our schools.

I hope you are all well and have managed to keep clear of high winds and floods.

Have a good week.

WOYWW

Well, this week has flown by.

I finished a little bolero style cardi for my friends granddaughter. Here it is with my birthday cards above - I love the hand made beauties.

Below is my sewing room activity that I began yesterday.

My dear daughter filled that little box with forty little bookmarks for me to edge. She said there was no rush but I like to get going on them when I have a bit of spare time.

I love the poppy ones

I edged some in green and some in red. Which do you prefer? I thought the green might appeal to a masculine book reader but either colour looks good, I think.

We had a great night out at the theatre last week.

We saw a Meat Loaf sound a likey-  Steve Steinman and a nine person band.

Actually, we like any live music - especially when I can share it with my little sis.

Well that's me for this week.

Keep cosy  all

WOYWW

Good morning to all my WOYWW friends and anyone else who pops by to see what I am up to.

I have had a busy weekend celebrating yet another birthday. It was lovely to celebrate with friends and family and my little sis is taking me to the theatre tonight too.

My spare time has been spent helping Max with a bit of Tilly Tea Dance admin.

I've made up loads of work packs for Poppy workshops and then edged bookmarks and mounted pictures. Her last workshop was a toadstool one and her group made some fab pictures .

Check her out on her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Tillyteadance to see what they created.

I've also been knitting and finished a tiny hoodie for my friends new grandson.

Of course I did my usual trick and ran out of yarn just as I was finishing the hood! So I had to wait till an extra ball of yarn arrived.  The left overs will come in handy for some little friendship hearts for the hospital. Nothing goes to waste in this house.🤣

Well that's me for this week.

It was lovely to look back last week when everyone shared their first WOYWW posts. Jan's photos were wonderful weren't they.

Have a good week all.

WOYWW 800

 WOYWW 800 post celebrations...

Well fancy being part of a group who has been posting  and sharing their work desks once a week for 800 posts - wonderful!

I have been involved since January 2010.... .

twiglet: What's on your workdesk Wednesday! (twiglet5.blogspot.com)

The link takes you to that first post. Looking back through my old posts was fun. I was amazed at how many things I had made and shared with my WOYWW buddies over the years...

My needle felting machine. You might remember we referred to needle felting as dumfing.. it's the noise you make as you felt the wool to the base fabric.

A few things that I decorated with dumfing. .

And then I found this photo....

A mermaid tail that I made and modelled for you.🤣

And just a few more random bits and bobs..  .

Sock dolls

Katie Morag doll

and outfit - made lots of times!

I don't know how I found the time to produce the multitude of items shared in my old posts but it has certainly kept me busy and it's lovely to share with others.

So, thanks to Julia and now Sarah for keeping us all going.
Annie and I raised a glass to you all last night when she came round whilst the men were at footie.
Cheers!
xx Jo

WOYWW

Happy WOYWW - our desk share day.

Well, it is a desk share if there is anything of interest on your desk!

I was away in Yorkshire for a few days last week and my desk is empty.

However, we did have a lovely few days meeting up with old friends and a bit of sight seeing at some of our favourite places.

We stayed in Pickering and just had to visit the North York Moors steam railway.

It was a glorious day and we even managed a climb round Pickering Castle getting a tan in the process!

The next day was more typical of our early Autumn weather so we took the bus over the moors.

We climbed the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey. It was well worth the effort. The views from the top were great and I loved the museum as it had lots of interesting locally found artifacts. It always fascinates me to see all the tiny bits and bobs of personal items discovered around the area.

Before we came home, we had a misty, moisty walk around Goathland. In the middle of nowhere, along an old track, we came across a farm. Well, slightly more than a farm .

This is what G noticed on the side of a big shed.

He insisted that he had no idea it was there!

I'm still not sure I believe him.

Needless to say he was thrilled and we spent a happy half hour whilst he browsed the extremely well stocked model shop and then walked down to an old walkers pub for a shandy.

So that's me for this week.

Today I will be sharing my work room with Max as we are having a staff meeting🤣🤣

Have a good week all

WOYWW

 Good morning all.

Here we are again. Don't these weeks fly by?

Join in with our desk share over on Sarah's Craft Shed.

My sewing room has seen a tiny bit of actual sewing this week. It seems like the first time in a while.

I must admit I was a bit rusty and had to unpick a few bits and broke a needle. I was sewing recycled denim to make some little purses.

It's nice, soft fabric to cut out and work on but I must remember not to sew over metal zip ends!

I have also been spending time making workshop packs - 28 packs for Tilly's "Toadstool" workshops.

She has booked her workshops for next year so I shall have plenty to keep me busy. I love being able to help out. If you are interested in a needle felting workshop check out Tilly Tea Dance workshops here. She would love to see you.

Well that's it for this week. I'm a bit late posting today. I had a quick catch up with Annie yesterday afternoon and completely forgot to organize my WOYWW post.

Have a good week.

WOYWW

Another week has flown by and I'm afraid my desk has seen very little crafty action this week.

We have been enjoying a few trips out, including a wine tasting visit to our local vineyard at Hencote.

It was an excellent tour of the vineyard and then we tasted some delicious wines. Who knew Shropshire has the perfect climate for wine making on the south facing slopes, on the northern side of Shrewsbury?

It has a wonderful restaurant with the most amazing views across the Shropshire hills. A real treat.

Yesterday I went with Max to take down her exhibition at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. There had been two long, full walls of her work in July but only a few pictures were left on one wall when we got there! She was mighty pleased with the results of her efforts.

This was one of her remaining pictures. It may end up on my wall if she doesn't want to save it for her local outlets 😃

So that's me for this week.

Have a good week all

WOYWW

 Happy WOYWW everyone

We are sharing our work spaces with anyone who pops in to see what we are up to. If you want to join in, visit Sarah's Craft Shed and link up.

Last week I had my box of lacey bits and bobs out and made a little card with tiny scraps, buttons and embroidery. Maxine has made lots like this over the years and I had one of hers to give me an idea.

So here is the finished one...

My friend loved it, so, I am going to make a few more.

I also made a denim bottle bag for the Pimm's that I gave her for her birthday..

I left it fairly plain as I thought it could then be re used and is unisex.

A great way to re-cycle the leg of a pair of old jeans.

So that's me for this week.

Have a great week.

WOYWW

Good morning everyone. Here we are again sharing our work spaces. If you want to join in then pop over to Sarah's Craftshed. It's always nice to meet new crafters and we are a welcoming bunch.😃

I am having a quiet, chill out week as my friends and family have left me to my own devices and gone on holiday!

Tilly left a few pictures for me to mount and frame. I love these little felted coastal landscapes.

Yesterday I prepared a collage ready to embroider for my friends birthday.

I have a box of lacey bits and bobs that I dipped into for little trimmings.

I will take a photo to show and tell next week ( hoping I remember 😃)

So that's me for this week.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the summer.

WOYWW

 Good morning all.

I hope you are all able to enjoy this lovely weather. Its definitely been a bit to warm to spend much time in my sewing room. I have got a few projects in mind, hence the fabrics below, but seem to lack a bit of motivation.

I cut out some little fabric hearts with the Cuttlebug. They have Bondaweb on the back, so they are all ready to iron onto some little denim purses.
On the right you can see a pile of tiny mounts waiting to taped ready for Tilly to frame her tiny sheep pictures - or maybe waiting for me to frame them ready to go off to a shop in the Dales!

I have, however, managed a bit of gentle knitting and made two little cardigans for my friend's little granddaughter. This is such a quick and easy pattern - we love it don't we Jan!

This one is much trickier and the edging seems to take forever.

Both cardigans have helped me reduce my stash of yarn so that's all good.

That will be all my crafting for this week.

Today I will be playing table tennis😃

Sadly, the rest of the week won't be so much fun as we have a funeral to attend.

Make the best of every day.

Hoping you are all well.
