WOYWW

Just a quick post this week for WOYWW.

I have been busy entertaining and having fun with Ben. He is a delight and we have enjoyed having him here.

Last week I managed a bit of time embroidering a little needle felted card for my little sis.

And then, this week, I started a new cardi for my friend's granddaughter.

The yarn is overall a bit more peachy than this section shows so, I hope it will knit up nicely.

I love a bit of random yarn but do like to try to match both sides! Mad, I know but it just annoys me if they don't look the same or similar though I am sure they are intended to be completely randomly worked. 😀

So that's me for this week.

Enjoy your week- especially now the darker evenings are upon us and you can get cosy and crafty.

Another week has flown by and I'm afraid my desk has seen very little crafty action this week.

We have been enjoying a few trips out, including a wine tasting visit to our local vineyard at Hencote.

It was an excellent tour of the vineyard and then we tasted some delicious wines. Who knew Shropshire has the perfect climate for wine making on the south facing slopes, on the northern side of Shrewsbury?

It has a wonderful restaurant with the most amazing views across the Shropshire hills. A real treat.

Yesterday I went with Max to take down her exhibition at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. There had been two long, full walls of her work in July but only a few pictures were left on one wall when we got there! She was mighty pleased with the results of her efforts.

This was one of her remaining pictures. It may end up on my wall if she doesn't want to save it for her local outlets 😃

So that's me for this week.

Have a good week all

Good morning to all the desk sharers and friends who just pop by to see what I am up to.

This week I have been mostly helping Maxine with Tilly Tea Dance admin. I have edged bookmarks with satin stitch and mounted and framed pictures. It's lovely to be working on such beautiful art work.

On Saturday I took Annie my basket full of chocolate egg filled knitted chicks and rabbits. It looked very Springlike. Hopefully they will make money for the charity.

And this week I have my cough and cold back. I think I need a vitamin boost!

I hope you have enjoyed these lovely mild days and are all feeling bright and breezy.

Have a good week all.

Firstly, an apology for confusing you last week. I am afraid I did not make the tassels. Life is too short 😀 They cost £7 for 100 so who would bother to make them. The colours were far nicer than anything I could have used too.

So this week I have been using some of Annie's donated fabric to make a few items to sell for the Harry Johnson fund.

I made a little bag. It is the second one I have made from that fabric.

They have pockets inside and the handles are long enough to put it over your shoulder

Then I made a couple of tissue box covers.

And a little draw string bag.

Finally my friend gave me some fabric to recover these cushions.

The dark one is a lovely African print and the stripey one is a nice fresh Laura Ashley fabric.

I have also spent a lot of my time helping Tilly Tea Dance with mounting and framing her artwork. I think I finished nearly 100 little pictures for her.

Not a bad week's work then!

Today I am on Nanny duties so that will be fun.

Have a good week.

It's been another busy week and I just don't know where the time goes  I have been fitting in admin for Tilly Tea Dance in-between hospital visits and Nanny duties.

These are the gorgeous felted bookmarks that a finished off for Tilly. I neaten around them with a lovely, silky satin stitch.

I have also mounted loads of her pictures. This is one of my favourites. It's a needle-felted and embroidered picture of the Shropshire Hills.

We managed a visit to Powis Castle and a quick walk round the beautiful gardens. I love the hollyhocks set against the brick wall. They were almost 8 feet tall.

So that's me for this week.

I hope the weather weather hasn't spoilt your Summer plans

Welcome to our first Wednesday desk share of 2023. I hope you are all well and looking forward to all the exciting times a new year will bring.

I packed away all my Christmas things on Monday but wanted to share all the lovely handmade cards that I received this time.....

So much time and effort spent on each one.

My favourite was this lovely winter sunset over Snowdon. It was beautifully needle felted by my clever daughter Tilly Tea Dance. I think she is designing a workshop on sunsets so I may have to give it back so that she can use it as a sample!

My task this week is to make up about 25 workshop packs for her so I will be busy in the sewing room. Hopefully we can find time for a staff meeting too, to discuss plans for 2023. I love the thought of planning a year of activities to help Tilly develop her business. Here's hoping for another brilliant year.

Have a good week.

Good morning all.
I love this crisp Autumn weather don't you?
(Well it's better than the torrential rain we have had over the last weekend!)

My craft room has seen a hive of activity over the last week.....

Chaos rules!
I am busy sorting, coding and packing Maxine's artwork for her Tilly Tea Dance exhibition at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms. It is very time consuming and I get in a tizz trying to keep tracks on it all. I am sure, as they say, "It will be alright on the night!"

I even managed a real treat last Saturday.
Tilly Tea Dance asked me to join her for the day at her workshop at Bayston Hill Shrewsbury.
It is only a couple of miles away so I was able to get there nice and early and to stay late and help her pack away.
We had a lovely day - it's such a treat just to enjoy her company and see her in "action" (Proud Mum here).
We were also joined by Sarah B so that was lovely. Good to see her and catch up on her news.

We felt we should mask up for this photo...

but Max asked one of our other crafters to take a snap of all three of us...

We both had fun needle felting our bluebell pictures .....

Sarah didn't want to show hers as she is giving it as a gift soon.

Lots more crafting going on - any suggestions what I can recycle these cot bumpers into?
I made it for Ben's cot and I guess it's been sitting in a cupboard for the last few years.

There are ten lovely beach hut collages and it seems a shame to dump them. ( LLJ - maybe I could make something for your RNLI shop?)

So that's me for this week.
Have a good week.

Thank you for all your good wishes for my birthday last week

I had a lovely time and even managed a weekend away with friends which was a treat.

My lovely girl made me the most gorgeous felted picture for my wall.....

It seems to be more lovely every time I look at it and I am so thrilled with it.
She is starting up her workshops next week so I have been helping get her roving packs organised.
Look at this beautiful range of purples that I have to dip into.

Then she asked if I could make her an extra bluebell woods sample piece.
She is really busy producing work for an exhibition so I was happy to help out.

It's only a small piece about 4 inches square but was fun to do.

Now you will notice Annie hasn't blogged today - she has Covid and is feeling really under the weather so we are all hoping she soon feels better. There seems to be so much virus about. We are all being really sensible but somehow the little "bug..." gets through!!

I hope you are all keeping clear of it and have enjoyed our lovely Autumn weather.

This was where I went at the weekend...

We walked across the aqueduct at Pontcysylite near Llangollen. We went over in in a canal boat with Ben in the summer but you don't appreciate how high it is until you walk over it on the tow path! Quite a feat of engineering for 1805.

(LLJ - if Annie hasn't linked me to Julia please could you do it for me?)

Have a great week

xx Jo

Good morning all!

I have been helping Tilly Tea Dance to get some stock ready for one of her local outlets.

All her little printed coasters needed pricing and labelling.

It's an easy job and I love all her colourful coasters - each one printed from one of her hand felted and embroidered pictures. I think McFelty, the Highland coo, is still one of my favourites.

Below is my latest twiddler - just a nice textural scene.
It's been too hot to do much knitting this week and I still have 6 more to get me to 100.

I hope you are manging to keep cool. The sunshine is wonderful but just too hot for me to spend much time out in it. It's just nice to find a cool spot and put my feet up with a good book.

However, I will be busy for the next few days as Ben is coming for a sleepover.

So - it will be "fun in the sun" for a bit and then a few "keeping cool" activities in the shade. We will be collecting pebbles to paint, planting a few seeds and doing a butterfly count.

Have a great week.
