WOYWW

Good morning to all my WOYWW friends and anyone else who pops by to see what I am up to.

I have had a busy weekend celebrating yet another birthday. It was lovely to celebrate with friends and family and my little sis is taking me to the theatre tonight too.

My spare time has been spent helping Max with a bit of Tilly Tea Dance admin.

I've made up loads of work packs for Poppy workshops and then edged bookmarks and mounted pictures. Her last workshop was a toadstool one and her group made some fab pictures .

Check her out on her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Tillyteadance to see what they created.

I've also been knitting and finished a tiny hoodie for my friends new grandson.

Of course I did my usual trick and ran out of yarn just as I was finishing the hood! So I had to wait till an extra ball of yarn arrived.  The left overs will come in handy for some little friendship hearts for the hospital. Nothing goes to waste in this house.🤣

Well that's me for this week.

It was lovely to look back last week when everyone shared their first WOYWW posts. Jan's photos were wonderful weren't they.

Have a good week all.

WOYWW -bigger and better!

Just a little update on the Amaryllis from last week.

All nine blooms on the 2 stems have now opened up and it is just the most stunning plant I think I have had. I know it won't last long but it is so beautiful and a delight to greet me as I enter my kitchen each time.

When I was teaching, my little ones used to love painting them and I am tempted to dip a brush in a pot of red paint and give it a go! Maybe I will have a go with Ben when he is here over the weekend.

My craft room remains unused at the moment but that's because in spare moments I have continued with my knitting challenge - to date - 3 hoodies, a little cardi and I have almost finished a little lace edged jumper.

So, as you see, never a dull moment.

I hope you are all well and able to make the most of life in these weird times.

Maybe later in the year I can email you all and say "Party in Shrewsbury - bring your own booze!"

Meanwhile, stay safe and well.

WOYWW Happy New Year!

Good morning all!

Another late posting - I don't know where the time goes.

I had a couple of lovely days with Ben here for a sleepover and then all of them for tea last night.

It was great to have them here (we are all testing every 2 days just to be sure we are negative) and we all enjoyed a yummy roast with loads of veg followed by home made bilberry cheesecake.

My only crafting this week has been knitting.

No twiddlers I am afraid, as I have been making little hoodies for a friend's little girl.

I've made lots of these over the years as they are cosy and comfy as a pull on. I don't know if the tinies actually use the pocket on the front but it's a nice feature and I bet the older ones love having somewhere to pop there tiny toys and favourite bits and bobs (as long as Mum takes then out before popping in the washer!).

Well that's it - short but sweet.

Happy New Year to you all and maybe we can meet up later in 2022 when this virus clears off!!!

WOYWW

Good morning to all the WOYWW friends around the globe.

Just my knitting activity on show today.

A little pink hoodie for my God daughter.
The latest collection of giggling, cartwheeling dollies for Uganda.

I have Ben here for a few days so my time has been taken keeping him busy.
He is a happy little soul and we have lots of fun.
At the moment his sentences usually start with...
Do you know what nanny...
or
Imagine if we.....

Of course that is followed by all sorts of his own ideas and suggestions for our play time - many of which involve Nanny being a story character and acting out his favourite stories.
I am making the most of every minute and know I am very lucky to have him.

Now, where did that lovely summer weather go?
It is cold, wet and windy here today - probably 15 degrees cooler than last week!
That's British weather for you.

So, I must get on with the chores.
Have a great week.
See you next week.

WOYWW

Good morning all.
March 21st - first day of Spring and my Grandma's birthday - born 144 years ago - that must mean I am getting on in years too - not so bad as you might think - she was 47 years old when my Dad was born!

My table is loaded with Tilly Tea Dance goodies today.

Maxine is re-stocking her local outlets and of course, everything needs pricing and listing so I am helping with the "admin". I know my place!!
I am always happy to help out - it is lovely to see how she has blossomed as a crafter, tutor and saleswoman!

I have even used my needlework skills in stitching the backs on brooches so I am not totally relegated to the drudgery -lol.

If I have a spare evening, I have been knitting for Annie's twin grandchildren.
This is the hoodie I finished last week.

AND here is the same pattern, different colourway.

They are wanted for the Easter hols so I need to crack on with it.

Thank you to all who responded to my plea about Ikea frames.

Hopefully, I have solved the issue for the time being, but it's lovely to know so many folk out there are willing to go shopping for me! Thanks lots.

Well that's it for this week.
I am on Ben duty today so need to organise some crafty fun for him.
Yesterday we wrote a few more pages in his adventure of Pod the Pea man.

(His idea prompted by a pea escaping from his plate at lunch.) You would be surprised what a fertile mind a 3 year old has and where it has lead Pod the Pea man to go. Happy days.

Have a great week.

WOYWW

Well fancy that - I am on time today and actually posting my WOYWW on Wednesday morning!

Things are on a green theme here today.
The machine threads and embroidery floss are all ready for Tilly Tea Dance to get to work this morning. She will be creating a few more little pictures with free machining and hand embroidery sitting here in my sewing room.

Beside the threads is a little Katie Morag kilt that I made this week. Green tartan is difficult to find so I have used a green tartan/check cotton winceyette for the little dressing up skirt.
It went together well and is cosy too.

I made a little kilt-like flap at the front and embroidered a mock kilt pin in silver thread.
The waist is elasticated so it should fit a 4-5 year old.

This is a tiny hoodie which I knitted for my great nephew's cuddly monkey.
It is dressed in football gear so I thought this would go nicely with it.
I even put the monkey's  name on the back! (Bonkers, I know!) But he will love it.

So that's my crafty activity for this week.
Thanks for all your lovely comments. I will look forward to a good snoop round your desks later.

WOYWW

Good morning all!

My work table hasn't seen much action this week so I thought I would show you the knitting I have been doing over the last week.

It's a little hoodie for my great nephew. I made him one about 2 years ago and he has always insisted it's his favourite jumper so I decided it was time I made him a bigger one. This time he requested giraffe buttons. I managed to find some so will show you the finished article next week.

I have to dash this morning as I have to go for my annual blood test. As diabetes is in my family, the GP decided I should have a regular check so hopefully all is well.
Then I have Ben for the day - he had his first half day at pre-school yesterday and loved it.

Have a great week and thanks for calling by.

WOYWW

Good morning all - I hope you are well wrapped up for this early autumn weather we are all enjoying!
It's been a bit wild, wet, and chilly here for the last few days.
My desk is very neat and tidy with just the remnants of Maxine's busy half hour when she was trying to finish her crocodile page for the busy book. Note the neatly sorted boxes of bobbin threads.

Below is my latest little hoodie - I just need to decide what colour buttons to put on it. What do you think?

And here is the little card that I made for one of my friends who has just had a new grandson.
My next job is to shorten a pair of ready made curtains for my lounge.
I told hubby I was collecting the pole today and his response was...
"Oh I hope he is going to put the curtains up"

My daughter's response was...
"I didn't know you'd been having dance lessons!"

My family!
Shall I post a pic of me pole dancing next week then?!!

And on that note...
Have a great week.
Thanks for calling by.
See you soon.

WOYWW

All change!

I decided to move my craft table away from the window - Partly to make more room for extra crafters (You know who you are!!) and also, at this time of year it is almost too bright in front of the window and we suffer from glare as we craft on a sunny afternoon.
So this was me yesterday....

I was sorting out some ideas for needle felting (dumfing) and had a few of my books out looking for inspiration.

And this is me today....

Table turned through 90% and a little bit tidier!
On the end is a little hoodie that I have just finished knitting.
Ben has lots of little girl friends who will soon need 1st birthday presents. All the mums seem to like hand knitties, so I have been busy.

Lastly, as I sorted out all my bits and bobs, I found my lovely ATCs waiting for a book to keep them in.
This lovely ATC and clever little envelopes came from Robyn (Rainbowweaves blog). It was at my old house waiting for me. I love all the stamps from around the globe - so appropriate for a WOYWW swap!

Thanks Robyn.

That's it for this week.
Have a great week but take care in the heat wave.
I hope our blog buddie Julia has enjoyed her hols - pop over and join our blog hop on her Stamping Ground blog spot!

Finished by Friday - so cute they make me smile!

I promised that I would show you my knitties!
These are the latest ones.
The little hoodie pattern always knits up nicely so I have made various sizes and boy/girl colours.
The little girly cardies are cute too I think.

OK - so I will nip back out to enjoy a bit of gardening in the sunshine!
Have a great weekend and join in with Annie's Friday smile over on her "A stitch in time blog"

Thanks for dropping by

WOYWW - well stuffed drawers

Good morning and welcome to Twiglet's WOYWW - Pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and join in the crafty blog hop - you never know what you might see or find out from these crafty folk and you may even find a new friend or two!!
Today I thought I would show you my little knitty makes.....

A little knitted hoodie for my friend's grandson.
It's my favourite Sirdar Baby Crofter.
I love the shades of blue/turquoise.

And this little "In threes cardi" is knitted in some left over wool from when I made the same one for Lexi.
I will donate this one to a good cause.
Some little girl will be pleased to get it I think.
AND my crochet hexagons which I have parcelled up for LLJ to send to the charity collection mentioned on her blog here last week. Pretty colours - they were left over from a little blanket I made for Annie's grand children several years ago. Like many of my left overs they tend to sit waiitng patiently in a cupboard until someone can use them. I never waste anything!!

Lastly just my table from a different angle with a few more of my makes, machines and little crafter's storage pots Maxine gave me for Christmas. (Just don't look at my well stuffed drawers!!!!)
He he - yes I will be going on a post Christmas diet!

Have a great week and thanks for calling by and leaving lovely messages.
You are a fab bunch!
