WOYWW - Dumfing magic!

Our WOYWW ATC fun continues.
As our little dumflings are winging their way around the planet, then by return, come these wonderful little works of art.
Many are accompanied by cards, notes, good wishes and some even included lovely crafty bits and bobs.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and beautiful ATCs.
We have had such a lovely week - made even better on funday Monday when Annie and I got together to play - you show me yours... I'll show you mine!! We both think we should make a big collage of them so that we can keep them all together and display them as they deserve.
What a wonderful way to "meet" new and old WOYWW friends. I think our Julia deserves a medal for having such a brilliant idea.

As for fun day Monday.....
well it didn't get off to a good start...
Look at the girl - she has been so poorly.
As I looked across the table at her peeping over her dumfing machine it reminded me of those captioned war time posters (Chad? Mr Wot?)

WOT NO MOJO?

But then we started crafting and somehow it worked its magic.
The needles dumfed, the felt flew and before we knew it she was back on top form and creating the most fab and gorgeous crab apple blossom dumfling!

Of course - I was busy dumfing on my machine opposite her.
So we chatted and giggled, drank coffee, ate chocolate - oops did I just admit that!!! YES we ATE CHOCOLATE! How else does a poorly girl get better?
Here are my little dumflings.
We have had such a giggle over Maxine's suggestion re clearing her mortgage by selling my dumflings.
Seriously though - they have turned out rather well so, we think we might make dumfling mini-felts with them and make a shelf in our blog shop for some of them. So keep a look out after next fun day Monday.

Lastly, here are my latest little jumpers and beanies for the fish and chip babies.
I posted them to Dawn yesterday. She is the blog friend who wrote a post about them (read here)and who has kindly collected them and passed them on to a local organisation ready to send out to Africa.

Well what a colourful post that is!!
Have a great week everyone - see you on my blog hop.

WOYWW

OK folks - sometimes a girl has to have a Spring clean in the sewing room!
My table is empty and my shelves are all dust-free.
And while I had a bit of clear space I put my craft fair items out. This is about all I have - so - if I want to fill a table at Montgomery Summer Craft fair - then I think I need to get crafting!!
You can see better pics of them all in our blog shop if you are interested.

These are my latest little knitties for the "Fish & Chip babies". I just couldn't resist adding a few lazy daisy flowers to the one set.

And these are the last three dresses which I made with the fabric the lady at the carboot sale donated for the cause. That's three more little girls who will get a frock via the "Dress a girl around the world scheme". I only have a few small pieces of fabric left now so I guess I shall have a rest and stock up when I spot anything suitable.
Short and sweet today but very colourful!
Have a great Wednesday blog hop - I am off to Julia's Stamping Ground to see what you have all been up to this week.

Happy Wednesday to all.
This was my desk with sunshine (yes! sunshine!) beaming through my wiindow, yesterday afternoon.
I just couldn't resist a photo - we have had so many gloomy days it was lovely to see the sun - if fleetingly.

On my desk are a few of my carboot bargains.

  • A lovely lady gave me this fabric when I explained that I would be making frocks for the "Dress a girl around the world scheme" with it. So many kind folk out there!
  • Also you can see the pretty little "broiderie anglais" mats  and lovely vintage Irish linen hankies that M bought to craft with. Not sure what she will make with them but we just couldn't resist them.
  • I also got 3 circular knitting needles - always useful for little shrug knitting.
Just a few of my week's makes below.....

Two tiny waistcoats for my friend's grandsons to wear to their uncle's wedding.

A random patchwork draught excluder.

Lastly the latest little knitties for the "Fish and Chip" babies.
I posted a parcel with 16 little jumpers and matching beanie hats to Dawn yesterday - 13 sets from me and 3 from Annie. I still have plenty of wool scraps so will continue knitting for a bit longer.

Join in our WOYWWednesday blog hop by following the link to Julia's Stamping Ground - so many busy crafty folk to snoop on!!!

Thanks to all who visited me last week  - I really appreciate your thoughtful, kind comments.

Happy Wednesday - to all our What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday friends - and anyone else who pops in to see what I am up to!!

This week I have been busy sewing & knitting and even helping childmind those gorgeous little twins. They are such little poppets.
Their mum asked if I could manage to make a couple more little cover ups for them this week. Well of course I can!! I found this cute spotty fabric in Watson & Thornton's in Shrewsbury. Perfect for the job.

My other little task was to make this pretty ivory satin horseshoe.
We have lots over in our blog shop - SistersCraftyCreations.
I made this one as a special request and added silk & satin flowers and tiny silvery beads.
I think it will make a nice keepsake don't you?

Lastly, in case you missed my last week's update on my little jumpers  -

All this lovely wool came from Linda and Lyn of KEMPS WOOLS who went home and found me a carrier bagful of odds and ends from their own supplies when they knew what I was doing for the "Fish and Chip" babies. Crafters are such a generous bunch aren't they. Thanks girls.

And here is what I have managed this week......

Annie now tells me that she has probably got another bag of wool coming from her craft suppliers. I think we shall be busy for months!! I am happy to knit in the evening - when my busy social life allows me (lol).

OK folks - join in the happy blog hop by following the link to Julia's Stamping Ground. All sorts of crafty folk meet up there on a Wednesday so pop over and see what they are up to this week.

Thanks to all my visitors last week - I love to read your comments and see what you have been busy with too.
Have a great week.

WOYWW

Good morning all - I don't know where the last week went!
Its been a week of anniversaries and birthdays.
This week my daughter M is celebrating hers so we even fitted in a bit more retail therapy on Saturday.
I am a hopeless shopper - I get bored after the first hour but I was very patient and we came away with a bargain silk frock that she really loved. It just needed a press stud stitching back on!!

My table is still pretty tidy - mostly because I have only tackled one sewing job all week.
Just a carboot pattern and fabric for a few little sundresses.

My evenings have been spent knitting little beanie hats and jumpers for the "Fish and Chip" babies.
I think they look cute don't you. If I had a dolly I would model one on it. Its hard to see how they work from a photo. It's a simple pattern and perfect to slip over a tiny babe so that it has something better than newspaper to wear when it leaves hospital.

Practical colours, as they probably don't get washed often like our lovely baby pastels do.

I am using up my leftover wools so there will be lots of multi-coloured stripes. I have a bagful of bits left over from knitting for Annie's five little ones. Waste not want not!!!

UPDATE: I buy all my wool from  KEMPS WOOLS - http://www.kempswoolshop.com/
They have some amazing bargains and I have picked up a few odd balls of fab wool for the beanies and jumpers. BUT I have to say a BIG thank you to Linda and Lyn who went home and found me a carrier bagful of odds and ends from their own supplies when they knew what I was doing for the "Fish and Chip" babies. Crafters are such a generous bunch aren't they. Thanks girls.

So, if you are looking for bargain wools - I can recommend KEMPS - great prices and a fast service.

Thanks to all who visited here last week and left lovely comments. I will try hard to get round as many as possible before next Wednesday. Join in if you feel like revealing your workspace to the world... pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and see what we have all been up to.

Another week, another Wednesday!
I hope you all had a lovely Easter.
It was a bit chilly but we had a fun day helping M finish her garden and then we had a bit of retail therapy yesterday. (A few birthday treats for M.)
Today my table is all neat and tidy.

I seem to have had so many busy sewing weeks that I decided a good tidy up was in order (it won't last!). So... just a few patterns waiting to be made up.
A 60's dress for M for her Jubilee celebration, pinafores for the 3 girls for the wedding reception and a dress for me.
This week is a knitting week -  I am going to knit a few items for the "Fish & Chip" babies - see more here.
Do you think this lot might be useful?
The suggestion is dark colours and maybe stripes - practical colours, as the little jumpers and beanie hats may never be washed!

Lastly, the little Peppa Pig card that I "dumfed" with wools and felt for Annie's grandee. Cute!

So - that's me for this week.
Have a great week and enjoy the blog hop.
Pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and join us.
