Saturday smiles

Good morning all - this is my Friday smile, a day late!
Above is the glorious view from my back garden yesterday. Sadly it won't be my  view for much longer but here is the good news... the house is sold!
So, at last, we can empty the house and get properly organised here in town.
We will really miss the views as we have nothing like that here. However, the folks buying it love it as much as we do, so that's good. We can always go back up there for walks and to breathe the fresh country air whenever we want to.

Below are the lovely flowers given to me for my birthday.
Maxine bought the blues and creams which look perfect on my lounge window.

My niece bought the hot reds and oranges and sunny yellows - so cheery and bright.
I hope that has brightened your day and made you smile.
Have a good weekend.
Thanks for calling by.

Friday smile

Just how I like to see snow - from the inside, where I am warm and cosy, looking out on a beautiful blue sky and snow capped Shropshire/Welsh border hills!

Have a good weekend.

WOYWW

This looks more like a "Twiglet" table doesn't it!!!
At last - and just a bit each day - my energy and enthusiasm have returned.

So, on my WOYWW table today you can see the little dressing up outfits that I have made for play group.
  • A little witchy skirt and cloak
  • A princess dress
  • A pirate waistcoat and trousers
  • 2 knights tabards
  • A spaceman tabard
I still have lots of fabric left so I am sure I will have more to show and tell next week.
For some reason Blogger has been a real pain this week - sometimes it won't let me load anything and then when I get into a blog, it won't let me comment. Apologies to all who I didn't manage a return visit to.

It's good to be feeling much fitter and stronger - I even drove my car for the first time in over a month yesterday - what a treat!
It's a cold and frosty morning here but the sun is shining and the hills look beautiful.
A quick snap from my kitchen door......

 Have a great week everyone.

Friday smile

It's a lovely bright Friday here today so I just took a quick photo from my kitchen door.

That blue sky is such a welcome sight after the gloomy grey days of Winter.
It's the first day of Spring today.
March 21st was my Grandma's birthday.
We have such fond memories of a dear old lady who lived to be nearly 101.
She was the one with the talent for needlework that Annie and I inherited.
A bright little button with a sharp mind and skillful nimble fingers. She made nighties and dresses for us well into her 80s and 90s!

AND below...
A much better photo of the Redpoll.
The male is on the right and below on the left, I think, it's the female.
They arrived on my nyger seed feeder just as I took the photo of the hills.

Have a great weekend everyone and if you want to join in with Friday smiles pop over to Annie's "A stitch in time" blog and cheer her up as she is feeling poorly this week.

Friday smile

Things that made me smile this week........
A photo of the view along my fence.
The stunning white clematis is tumbling over the fence from my neighbours garden.
It has been really lovely this year and I really appreciate them sharing it!!!

Below is a beautiful little ATC - and what a little work of art it is.
It is handmade by Peggy of peggy aplSEEDS blog who lives in the Phillipines.
We swapped ATCs for the WOYWW 4th anniversary - notice her little crown- WOYWW4
Clever!

Have a great weekend - let's hope the good weather lasts.

For more Friday smiles just pop over to Annie's "A stitch in time" blog and see what the others have found to make them smile this week.

WOYWW - Merry Christmas makes

Good morning all.
This was the view from my window looking out towards the snow covered hills on Sunday.
Very pretty but cold and icy too for a couple of days.
Just the sort of weather for a boiler breakdown and power cuts - that was us - AND a plumbing leak that soaked a kitchen ceiling - that was daughter M.  Nothing a few pounds can't put right but we had a few cold days and an evening of knitting by candlelight!

Here are my makes for this week.....
A little knitted monster for a little boy who I am hoping to meet soon.
AND.....

Three pretty, pale pink pinafore dresses made with the gorgeous fabric that Keryn sent us.
They really do look lovely and Annie will be passing them on to the girls this week.

Lastly, I will leave you with my Christmas card and wish you all a Happy and Peaceful Christmas - have a great time. x Jo
