WOYWW

Firstly, an apology for confusing you last week. I am afraid I did not make the tassels. Life is too short 😀 They cost £7 for 100 so who would bother to make them. The colours were far nicer than anything I could have used too.

So this week I have been using some of Annie's donated fabric to make a few items to sell for the Harry Johnson fund.

I made a little bag. It is the second one I have made from that fabric.

They have pockets inside and the handles are long enough to put it over your shoulder

Then I made a couple of tissue box covers.

And a little draw string bag.

Finally my friend gave me some fabric to recover these cushions.

The dark one is a lovely African print and the stripey one is a nice fresh Laura Ashley fabric.

I have also spent a lot of my time helping Tilly Tea Dance with mounting and framing her artwork. I think I finished nearly 100 little pictures for her.

Not a bad week's work then!

Today I am on Nanny duties so that will be fun.

Have a good week.

WOYWW

Another week another WOYWW when we share our work desks and crafty activity.

Look what I have to share with you this week ..

A lovely rainbow of tassels...

Yes Jan, I found I needed to replenish my tassels.
Titter ye not!
I had a very good reason for getting them out.

I really do need to tackle my fabric stash and have a good sort out.
So, I made an effort and emptied my purple scraps drawer. (I have a drawer for each colour of the rainbow. Each one is full of small scraps left over from various projects).
I made a wide strip of patchwork fabric using lots of my purple scraps.
Then I cut up the strips and layered them with a card and fabric backing - just big enough for bookmarks.
I stitched around each one and added a tassel.

So here we are...
A lovely little set of bookmarks.

I might clear out another drawer this week - maybe make  red/green Christmassy ones.
Talking about red and green.
Look at my veg harvested from our garden this week.

All yummy.
Well that's me for this week.
I hope you are all well. Summer is slowly slipping away all too fast so, make the most of each day.
I noticed the swallows gathering this week so maybe they know something we don't - it seems a bit early.

WOYWW

 Good morning all.

Well last week flew by.

I had a lovely meet up with an old school friend at Erddig, Wrexham. A lovely walk and lunch. The gardens were very colourful.

On Thursday we went up onto the Stiperstones to pick bilberries.

It was really warm and I only managed to pick just over half a kilo but they will be delicious in a crumble or as a cheesecake topping. The views were stunning.

Then we had a walk at Attingham and a quick lunch out too.

On Sunday afternoon we went to Shrewsbury Castle to watch a small and totally brilliant theatre group perform Twelfth Night in the grounds. We sat on picnic chairs and enjoyed a gin and tonic on a lovely sunny afternoon. Again, the gardens, tubs, hanging baskets etc around our town are just gorgeous.

Sadly, this week started with our friends' double funeral. I think they had a good send off but still a sad day for all.

So making the most of every day, Annie and I had quality time together today and I collected some more of her donated fabric.

I have made two more hang about bins.

Angela ( Crafting with Jack) said she might like one.

So, for a donation to the charity, take your pick Angela! I hope you like them.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

I have to harvest our home grown veg today. We have loads of beans, courgettes and tomatoes.

WOYWW

So here we are sharing our desks, on another Wednesday, with our lovely Julia at Stamping Ground and all our WOYWW buddies.

This week I have had a little more crafty time which has been great. It seems like a real treat to get into my sewing room and have fun.

Annie sorted some of that wonderful fabric for me to make some hang about bins. So here we are..

One all alone..

Four finished ready to go to a local show on the Harry Johnson stall to raise funds for the cancer support charity in his name.

Annie and I had to chuckle at my search for buttons. We both had these...

As she said, it's high time we used them as the pricing is pre decimalisation so at least 50 years old!!!

I actually used these...

They just required a bit of needle weaving with turquoise yarn. I think they looked good and saved me buying more buttons.

Today I am meeting friends at National Trust Erddig near Wrexham. I am hoping we have a bit of sunshine so that we can enjoy the gardens.

Have a great week all

WOYWW

My desk hasn't seen much crafty action this week

I have had admin for Tilly and Nanny duties to keep me busy.

I love having Ben to stay and we have enjoyed watching his drawing skills develop. This week he decided we should have a paint off. ..

Mine is on the left, Ben's on the right and his Grandad's flower painting is in the centre .

I think we know who is the most gifted!!

He loves this card.....

My little sis sent it for G's birthday when we were having problems with cats.

Here is Ben's version...

I think his accuracy is amazing don't you?

And just a few local pics to share with you.

Shrewsbury Flower Show will soon be here. The Dingle in the Quarry park was a picture this Sunday, even in the rain.. . .

And one for LLJ...

The Chester Brass Band were playing in the bandstand - it was really lovely to sit under my umbrella and enjoy some brilliant music.

So that's me for this week

Have a good week all.
