WOYWW

Good morning all .

At last I have put my ATC collection together for you. Thanks to Kyla, Mary Anne, Jan, Annie and Julia.

I love them all and don't they  beautifully reflect our multi talented bunch of crafters?

Thanks lots to you all.

This week I have been using up my background fabric for more cards. I really love making them and have come up with a few different designs.

I've made lots more - sunflowers and clematis amongst them.

I will share them another time as I haven't taken photos yet and I might keep one or two secret as they will make lovely birthday cards for later in the year.😃

My orchids have all burst into bloom this week.

The pink one is a poor specimen with only one shrivelled leaf but it produced the one perfect bloom.

I have had the peachy one for about 7 years and it still produces beautiful blooms each year

So that's me for this week
Have a good week everyone.

WOYWW

 Happy WOYWW everyone.

Look at this little beauty....

It only has one bloom at the moment but is growing well. Annie bought it for us and the rose is a gorgeous, golden, custard yellow.

My desk hasn't seen much action as my chesty cough has knocked the bounce out of me. Hopefully, a little break will do me good and I can get back to my usual crafty activity next week.

Here is my lovely ATC from BJ

Each one a little gem

I have spent a little time mounting some of Tilly's Shropshire Hills pictures. She has an exhibition in July so there is lots of work to do to get it all ready.

I love her little bookmarks.

Well that's me for this week.

Have a good week all

WOYWW

Good morning all. Here we are again sharing our desks on What On Your Workdesk Wednesday .

Thankfully, all worked well with Sarah's Craft Shed and Sarah managed to link us all up beautifully. Thanks for stepping in and keeping us all connected.

My desk hasn't seen any action this week. I have had yet another cough and miserable cold. So, all I have managed is a bit of gentle knitting. I loved Jan's little cats so I had a go myself. I'm not sure what I can do with them but I have lots of little friends who would probably love them.

Sylvia and BJ sent me an ATC.

They are just lovely aren't they. I love Sylvia's little folded pocket for hers. She even left un-glued so that I could open it out and see how it folds. Thanks lots both.

I hope I get my bounce back for next week. I have places to go and people to see!

Have a good week all..

WOYWW

 Good morning all!

Well our 15th anniversary meet up in Stoke with Sarah was a lovely day out.

We gathered together at ten and spent all day chatting about crafts and lots more. Of course it was interspersed with teas, coffees, lunch and just a little cake or two.

It was so good to see everyone.

At lunchtime we raised a glass to Julia and thanked her for keeping us connected over all those years.

I know she was cross with me, but it was wonderful to present her with a little gift as a thank you. The generosity of our blog buddies didn't surprise me. We are such a giving bunch and Julia deserved every penny. We hope she finds something nice to treat herself to.

Of course we also swapped ATCs.

What a fab selection of mini works of art. I love them.

We had a raffle and sale of goods and the monies went to the heart charity chosen by Sarah.

AND speaking of Sarah...

We are so grateful to her for organizing the crop with Eva and even more so for offering to take on hosting Mr Linky so to that WOYWW can continue. Wahoo! Thanks lots Sarah.

So that's me for this week

I know the others will have photos of the event so I hope you get to see them all

WOYWW 15th Anniversary

I am sure I won't be the only one who can't believe that we, happy band of crafters, have been sharing our crafty activities for the last 15 years.

Many thanks to Julia and Jan for keeping us all so beautifully connected. We have shared not only crafts but also friendship and much laughter. Life has been all the better for knowing you all.

We are looking forward to our meet up on Saturday and will take photos to share with everyone so that those who can't come won't miss out .

Here is my badge for the day...

I have made 18 ATCs.   I did a little bit of needle felting this year - after all, I do have plenty of Tilly Tea Dance resources here to dip into.😃

I will send one to my PIF and take the rest to the crop. So, if there are any left I will post them, first come first served, to anyone who would like one.

Happy 15th Anniversary!

Love from Jo

WOYWW 14

Well, who would have thought that a simple idea, to show and tell your work desk each week, would be able to keep going for fourteen years? The answer, of course is, that it is far more than that.

Our WOYWW activities have grown and developed over the years. We are a band of sharing, caring crafters and some wonderful friendships have been forged.

So a big thank you to Julia and also Jan, who have kept the whole show going over the years. We really appreciate it.

My ATCs are made using some beautiful, hand embroidered, table linens. I have kept them for years. And decided it was high time I used them. I hasten to add that none of the beautiful embroidery was worked by me!

Much of the linen was stained or damaged so I didn't feel too guilty about cutting them up.

I was going to work over the pieces but once I had set them on the linen backgrounds they looked almost like a little botanical illustration. I thought the simplicity added to the beauty of the work.

I hope you like them and Annie and I have posted them with this little poem to the 14 folk who asked.

We want to share our craftiness

With all our work desk friends

We both cleared drawers and cupboards

To stash bust our odds and ends

Twiglet found linen napkins

With embroidered corners - sweet.

Wipso used her keyrings

For a perfect little treat

Thanks for all your friendship

And how you love to share

Your ideas and your artwork.
It's good to know you care

I hope WOYWW 14 is a happy one for you all!

Best wishes.

WOYWW

Good morning all.
Just a little bit of twiddle mitt fun to share with you today.
Shrewsbury hosts a wonderful Flower Show in August so I thought an appropriate twiddler would be in order. (Front and back here)

The other twiddler is an" Under the sea" one.

I hope the jelly fish isn't too scary - I just thought its wispy texture might be fun.

Last but not least..

My lovely ATCs from Sylvia,

Our Queen of Snoop, Julia. Robyn and Tracy.
Thanks lots to everyone. They are a fab depiction of our "Connection".

I think I will buy a little cork board like Jan, to display them all. They deserve pride of place in my sewing room.

That's it for this WOYWW.

Have a happy Platinum Jubilee.

xx Jo

WOYWW

Good morning all!
Just look at this lovely little work of art.
I know anyone who swapped ATCs with us received a print of this, but, Annie gave lucky old me the original! I love it and will be framing it to hang in my sewing room. She is such a talented, crafty person.

Below are the ATCs we have received so far....

Always such different ideas and clever ways to present the theme of "Connection".

I know Annie has one or two more so I will show and tell those next week when she has shared them with me. Thanks to everyone who swapped with us - we love to see them and I will display them in my sewing room.

Below is my "garden" themed twiddler.
I just hope the beetroot and carrots don't look to temptingly realistic!

That's it for this week - except for these lovely pictures of the gardens at Dudmaston Hall NT....

We had a glorious day there last week.

Let's hope we get a little more of that sunshine this week.

xx Jo

WOYWW 13th anniversary!

Who would have thought that we would still be sharing our work desks with bloggers around the globe 13 years on! WOYWW, organised and maintained by Julia at "Stamping Ground", has kept us all together, sharing our desks and crafty activity, all that time. We have made wonderful friendships and supported each other over the years. A big thank you to Julia and Jan for keeping us all going. It means a lot.

So, today I am sharing one of my little ATCs. The rest of them will be winging their way to you if you have said you wanted to swap. I have most addresses but if Ali and Susan still want to swap please email me your addresses and Annie and I will join up and send you our ATCs.

My sunflower celebration cake has a tiny Ukraine flag included on it to show our global support and connection. Maxine has a Ukrainian friend and it has been very hard for them to cope with all that has been happening.

AND finally....( I can never add that to the end of my blog without remembering our lovely friend Shaz. So, on our 13th anniversary, I felt I needed to add it and include her in our thoughts and celebrations.)

My crafty activity for this week...

This is the back and the front of my latest seaside twiddler.

I needed a short lighthouse to fit in the space and thankfully LLJ had a lovely photo of her local one on her blog!

Best wishes to all on our Blogiversary!

xx Jo

WOYWW

Good morning all!
My lead photo is a sneaky peek at some of my ATCs for our 13th anniversary.
I can't get to see Julia's blog (my computer won't let me in!), so Annie reports back to me.
As the theme is "Connections" I thought I would extend my Ukraine brooch theme.

If you would like to swap with me, just leave a comment and I will see what I can do.
I think 13 years of WOYWW friendship and connection is well worth celebrating and we are forever grateful to Julia and her buddy Jan for keeping us going all these years. I know we all really value the friendship and sharing of all things crafty!

We are still hoping to have a gathering at some point this year and we wondered if September might be a possibility - perhaps a bit of feedback from everyone on that might help. Of course it would depend on the availability of our hall if we are to do it here in Shrewsbury. What do you think Julia,/Jan and all??

My latest twiddler is a more masculine Jubilee themed one this time.
I want to get a few of these made so they can be in use for the Jubilee so, I need to keep going.
I have nearly finished five so far.

Well that's me for this week.
If you read this Jan - would you kindly link me to the Queen of Snoop, our lovely Julia as I don't think Annie is able to blog this week.
Thanks lots.

Have a good week.
xx Jo

WOYWW

My latest parcel of twiddlers is all ready to go to the hospital.

Here are a few of them....

I found a couple of Annie's tiny bears to stitch into the zippy pockets on one or two - thanks Annie!

I think, along with a couple of sea themed ones that just need finishing off, that makes 90 since January.

I am determined to make it to 100 before  the end of "lockdown" - well hopefully July19th.

This week, whilst knitting, I have mostly been watching Wimbledon and footie. Some great matches.

Lastly....

Thanks Catriona for my ATC and bit of Scottish tartan loveliness!

The Royal Mail had taken a whole month to get the damaged envelope of goodies to Annie.

Well that's it for this week.

Enjoy your week.

xx Jo

WOYWW

 Hello all!

I hope you are enjoying this fabulous weather.
We had a day in Shrewsbury yesterday and it was like being abroad - traffic free town with tables and chairs around the cafes, folk sunbathing in the park by the river, boat trips and such a happy, brilliant vibe!
I also called into 61Mardol which is where Maxine is selling her artwork at the moment. It is a real treasure trove of wonderful local artwork of all descriptions. So, if you are in Shrewsbury at anytime pop in. I have my eye on a beautiful hand crafted pendant and matching earrings!!

On Friday we sailed down the Llangollen canal and over the Froncysylite aquaduct with Ben and enjoyed a lovely day out. It's such a treat to spend time together and get out into the world (albeit very cautiously) again.

Needless to say, my desk hasn't seen much action.
However, I did receive a lovely pack of goodies and ATCs from Spyder. She included gorgeous bits and bobs and buttons for me to use on the Twiddle mitts. A big thank you, Lynn - I have already used much of the wool and some of the buttons.

Lynn also sent me this little gnome card. Ben loved it!
Along with it came the hilarious poem that she penned about making it.
We all had a chuckle at that. Thanks Lynn.
And this is my ATC from Christine - Bishopsmate.
Thanks lots - it's lovely.

Lastly - here are the 7 latest twiddlers that will be going with the 3 themed ones.
I try to put colours, textures and twiddly bits together to make them eye-catching and cheery.

So that's it for this week.
Enjoy your week.

WOYWW

Happy WOYWW - I hope it's a lovely sunny day where you are.

We have had a few sunny ones which have been really beautiful and quite uplifting.

My work desk hasn't seen much action - too nice to be indoors.

However, I did snap the last of my wonderful ATC packages that came through the post this week. ..

I do hope I haven't forgotten anyone. It's been so good seeing what you have all done and now I need to think how I can display them best. Thank you to all.

And then WOYWW wouldn't be the same without one of these....

It is part 2 of the "What did you play with" twiddlemitt collection!

So that's it for this week.

Enjoy your week.

xx Jo

WOYWW

 Good morning all.

Thank you to everyone who has sent ATCs to us Shropshire gals. Annie and I have had a couple of celebratory get togethers to pass on ATCs sent for both of us - good excuse for a chat and swap -its been so long since we have been able just to pop over to each other whenever we wanted!

I have loved everyone of them and the detail in each little work of art has been a delight.

Here is my collection so far.....

Aren't they all lovely?

Thanks also to Lynn, Angela and Sylvia whose  wonderful little packages have arrived safely. I will take photos and put them in next week's WOYWW.

Thanks to all of you who commented on my little needle-felted ATCs. They were fun to do too and I had forgotten what pleasure I get from a bit of felting. I even got a positive response from the Queen of Felting - Tilly Tea Dance - so they must have been OK!!

My latest twiddler is called  "What did you play with?"

I think I have the arms (or legs) slightly wrong on the roller skater as she appears to be skating in both directions somehow (or is it just me?).

I have yet to make a stitched label on my sewing machine. I thought making a question of the label might stimulate a conversation where possible.

I said I would make as many twiddle mitts as possible during lockdown (since January). To date I have made 73 and I am hoping to have completed 100 by the end of June. Some are simpler than others so take less time but I really enjoy designing and making the themed ones as they are more fun. (Simple pleasures).

If the weather had been a bit better I am sure I would have been out and about more this week. We did manage a Friday lunch out - although it did seem weird being in a room with so many other folk.

We need a bit more sunshine and warmer weather. My garden could certainly do with it to encourage my seedlings etc to grow a bit faster.

I hope you are all able to enjoy a bit more freedom and some may even get away for a little break - well deserved after our enforced hibernation!

Take care all and stay safe.

xx Jo
