WOYWW

Good morning all.

We have had mixed weather over the last few days so I have had time in my sewing room on wet days and lovely Autumn walks on drier days.

Ben wanted a shaped cushion to go in his book corner so that he can snuggle under his new fleece, whilst reading. He has really enjoyed his rapidly developing skills and loves all sorts of books.

He is into Horrid Henry and the Roald Dahl books.

I had lots of left over fabric from making his roman blind so I quickly ran up a zipped cushion cover to match his room. I hope he likes it.

He made this lovely card for my birthday at the beginning of the month....

Just a quick one today.

I hope I can get past the BT warning page this time and link up to Julia's blog.

Have a good week all.

Frosty weather - Advent Day 8

Day 8 of my Advent blog, countdown to Christmas

The weather forecast for today mentioned an icy blast moving in from the North east.
A good day to share a few of my frosty, wintery pictures.

Firstly, an early morning picture from my kitchen window.

Then  my little robin friend on a frosty hedgerow waiting for me to throw out a few crumbs.

And lastly some frosty plants and a cobweb - isn't nature wonderful.

That's it for today - see you tomorrow.

WOYWW - 101 - looking for inspiration!

Rain has stopped play with the gardening, so I have been looking for a crafty activity.
I finished my WOYWW Pass it Forward, last week. (See post below for a sneaky peep - just a tiny corner - of course we won't reveal the full Monty until after week 104).

Sometimes my ideas just dry up and I need a boost. Who doesn't?
So my table today is ready for a browsing session later.

A rich source of inspiration are my Stitch and Cloth, Paper, Scissors mags.
Lots of clever folk in here including Tina Gilmore (Indigo Moon), who has an article or two in the issue at the top of my pic. Don't you love the little heart-shaped brooch that she made for me too! Tina sells them in her shop if you are interested.

I love delving into these mags to see what these clever artists are up to.
Mostly I choose to work in fabric but having seen Tina's work I am tempted to have a go at mixed media. Wipso and I are hoping Tina will organise a workshop so that we can see her in action and she can give us a few tips and point us in the right direction.

Lastly - a little pic taken through my kitchen window - hence the fog and raindrops.
Each evening, a pair of robins take it in turn to have their "wash and brush up" in my bird bath.
My favourite little bird!

OK folks - I will be over to check up on you all later. Well I say all - I never get to see more than half of you these days. I love dropping in and seeing what you are up to.
If anyone is reading this and wondering what I am talking about, then do check out Stamping Ground - Julia's blog. She is the kind soul who set WOYWW in motion and now links up over 150 crafty bloggers! Thanks Julia - you are a treasure.

WOYuntidyWW!

Good morning - Wednesday again! Where did last week go then?!

Today I will be mostly tidying, sorting and clearing out - YUK!

Wipso spent a while in my sewing room after our exciting day out on Saturday. As you all know, she has an amazingly organised room because that is where she runs her successful sewing business from. Well, my room is much smaller but packed full of crafty stuff. I know where everything is but it was beginning to get on top of me (literally, when my big carrier bags of fabric/wool/felted sweaters etc tipped over!) She didn't actually say it was a mess but I know what she meant. lol

So, today is my big TIDY UP day. Next week all will be immaculate!

What's out for you to snoop on today then?

Well, first and foremost on my window sill you can see a dinky, felt pin cushion cupcake and tiny cards, all from the lovely Paula. You will know from Annie's updates on Paula's blog where she is and what she is going through, so I just want to say a big thank you to her for finding time to make my little gift, when she must have been feeling so awful. We all wish her a speedy recovery so that she is feeling well again and pain free and back making us laugh with her wonderful warm and witty comments.

On top of my drawers you can see some of the wedding stuff I have been working with. Wipso and I launched the wedding creations shelf in the blog shop this week. Lots more to do but at least its a start.

On my table are the new yarns that I received yesterday from Kemps Wools - a brilliant service and some bargain wools, there if any of you are interested.

Oh and at the front of my table - someone wanted to see M's trolls - now who was it who had a little troll on their workdesk last week? - Answers on a post card.....

We created little costumes for some -I like Madonna with the golden boobs best.

All those drawers and bags that you can see now have to be emptied and sorted - I may be gone for some time!!!!! If I don't blog for a few days send a rescue party!

And last but not least - for all you robin lovers out there...

Having successfully dumfed a puffin someone suggested I try a robin.

Next I will be dumfing a peacock!

Any other suggestions gratefully received.

Now if you want to join in with the WOYWW madness then pop over to Julia's blog and follow Mr Linky.

In remembrance

Our two minutes of silence was broken by a robin, singing so beautifully in my garden.
