WOYWW

For all you button lovers out there!
I have been sorting through my buttons to add to the twiddle mitts that I have finished.
I bought a bucketful from Abakhan or Askaban as I keep calling it!
They were in big bargain bins and I sorted out as many big, shiny, colourful ones as I could find. They will be perfect to add a bit of glitz to my twiddle mitts.

The next batch are ready to go down to the dementia nurse at our local hospital. I have a stiff shoulder at the moment so haven't done much knitting. It's been a bit too warm and muggy anyway.  They certainly look a colourful bunch don't they!

I hope the weather hasn't caused too many problems where you are. We are heading for a heatwave now by the sound of it!

Have a great week.

WOYWW

 Good morning all.
Nice to be back blogging.
I have had a hectic couple of weeks but things are back on track now.

Just a few things to show and tell.
Don't you love my bargain buttons and my yummy piece of soft grey check wool cloth that I found at the car boot sale? Not sure what I will do with them just yet but know I will find a use for them.

Also on my table is that lovely little "dumfed" (needle-felted) picture that Maxine made.
I think it looks good framed up.
We will probably do a craft fair nearer Christmas so hopefully will have a few more finished by then.

Below are two "shades of grey - and turquoise" draught excluders all ready for stuffing.
They seem quite popular at the moment so I am making a few more in a variety of shades.

Maxine made the little hearts for me to stitch on this one - I love the colours.

Well that's it - back to the sewing machine for me.

I hope I can find time to visit a few WOYWW desks this week but I might be a bit late as I am helping Annie with the twins today - another fun filled day for "Aunty Jo-shie" as they call me!

Have a good week.

Thanks for dropping in.

WOYWW

Good morning all.
Just a little "dumfed" (needle-felted) picture that Maxine made to show you today.
I mounted it in a re-cycled frame that I painted with chalk paint and then rubbed down and waxed.
I have loads more to do but think I will try a few other colours for mounts and frame colours.

I have been on a spending spree this week so I thought I would show you my crafty goodies.

Annie and I have purchased a big cutting mat, a plastic ruler and a rotary cutter. So we are all set up now to get into quilting mode!
We used all the proper gear when we went on our bag making workshop and we were so impressed we decided it would be a good investment.

Also I had a litle trip to Dunelm and treated myself to some nice buttons.
(All prices and receipts are well hidden!!!!!)

Lastly I thought I would add a lovely pic of Jo (Jozart) with the fab boards that she made for each of us. I have the blue one in my sewing room and I am thrilled with it - thanks lots Jo.

Another short post this week but at least you have some nice pics to look at!
Have a great week - see you on the mad WOYWW desk hop.

WOYWW

Good morning to everyone who has popped in to have a look at my untidy table today.
I can't say I have been too busy crafting to tidy up - I blame the Olympics. When I haven't been watching the amazing sporting achievements of the GB team, I have managed an hour or two of crafty activities.

You can see my half made Katie Morag sock doll. She has a hand made needle felted kilt!

Near the front - hiding under the embroidery threads- is a pretty beaded and butttoned heart on a card that I have made for my daughter M. on her engagement. Yahoo! We are thrilled for her and Steve. So, another wedding in the family.  Above is the frame that I will give her just in case she wants to hang it in her bedroom.

Below is the pretty blue mohair scarf - perfect for dumfing yarns and rovings into. One of my car boot bargains. Also, just look at that gorgeous vintage lace. Oh and the piece that is folded and tied with a price label - 2 yards for One shilling!! Er that would be 5p in today's money. I paid a bit more than that but well worth it as it's really lovely.

And lastly some of the wonderful colour at Powis Castle. We had lunch and a walk round the gardens last week. Well worth a visit if you are down this way.

Well that's it for today - I am popping to M's with her card and to await delivery of her new fridge.
I shall take Katie Morag to finish off  whilst I watch the Olympics.

Have a good week.

WOYWW - hearts galore!

Sorry folks my room looks even worse than last week! So, just a quick peek at some of my car boot bargains on my table.

I tidied some of the bags etc and then started all over again - this time helping daughter M with some of her "heart" cushions.
She sold all the beautiful, grey, velour cushions that she made before Christmas and decided she would re-stock with creams and beiges this time.

They are gorgeous little cushions - the small ones are about 10" square and the larger ones are 14" square.  I think she is hoping to sell the large ones of £17.50 and the small ones for £14.50. They all have a little zip across the back and are filled with polyester filling. Each one has a little Tilly Tea Dance label. I guess she will load them up to her Etsy shop - Tilly Tea Dance - if they don't sell before then!!!

As you will see from my post below - I had a happy time clearing some of our dress fabric by cutting out 25 more little frocks ready to sew.
BUT - this week I am making a little smocked dress for my twin great niece baby L. I love smocking and did loads when I was much younger. I find it quite theraputic.
Pretty isn't it....

Short and sweet again this week - I really do need to tidy that room don't I?

Have a great week and enjoy your blog hop - I will see lots of your desks later!
Now to hop to Aunty Julia's desk and see what she has been up to this week.

Have fun.

WOYWW for 2012

Good morning all and a very Happy New Year to you!
So that was Christmas then - didn't it just fly by.

We had a quiet time - unlike Wipso, who didn't know where she would be from one day to the next - bless her. Of course Santa came and left me lots of lovely parcels. He seems to know me well and always leaves really useful crafty items!

On my desk are the fab boxes he left - just perfect to fill with beads and buttons, so I have done just that.
He also left a beautiful crafty book with some great ideas for things to make.
Thanks to all who organised Santa so brilliantly - you know who you are!!!

The bright pink knitting will be a little hoodie for twinnie L - its so warm and cosy - I think she will love it.

Here's hoping you all have a wonderful, crafty and creative 2012 - looking forward to seeing what you all get up to.

Now over to Julia's Stamping Ground to join in the blog hop.

Thanks for calling. x Jo

Gorgeous cushions!

For weeks, I seem to have been working away on blinds and curtains for my daughter's new house. Not my favourite job, although after making ten roman blinds for her, I certainly think I have served my apprenticeship!

As she works full time in a very demanding job, she has had little time to help. She is great at the designing and planning and loves doing the "Ideal Home" bit, choosing colours, fabrics and accessories. This weekend however, she decided she wanted to make cushions for her new bedroom. My sewing room is always well stocked with remnants and all sorts of haberdashery bits and bobs. So, off she went in search of the materials to make her cushions.

About three hours later, with a little help from me, she had produced these two little cushions in her grey/pink colour scheme.
I don't have any pink or grey buttons left in my button jar but isn't that what we save them for?
