I decided to make my linen crazy quilt square into a little ring cushion.
It is a neat 20cm x 20cm square made with vintage linen and decorated with hand stitching, beads, a mother of pearl button and satin ribbon ties. (Ring not included!!)
Here is a close up of some of the detail.
I have really enjoyed the hand embroidery that I have been busy with recently.
I have now finished 3 lengths of white bunting made with vintage linen and decorated with vintage crochet and lace plus my own embroidery (here if you are interested)
I will probably put them in our Sisters Crafty Creations blog shop or ebay but if you are interested in the meantime, you can email me.
Thanks for popping in - I hope the day is a bit drier and sunnier for you than it is here!

Finished by Friday and smile!
Here is my latest finished item.
I have all sorts of little projects on the go but this draught excluder is the only thing completed this week.
It is made with a variety of furnishing fabric and embellished with vintage buttons and hand embroidery.
It is in shades of grey with a plummy pink mix of fabrics. It is filled with polyester filling so that it is light to post but also it squishes nicely into a doorway to keep out the winter draughts!
I will pop it in our Sisters Crafty Creations blog shop later.
Now the weather forecast says more snow followed by heavy rain, snow melt and FLOODS!
So I thought you might like to see how I aim to be prepared for that possibility.....
If you would like similar adaptations let me know - it didn't hurt - honest! lol.

Fun day Monday!
Wipso ( Annie - the much younger sister) and I had another giggly "fun day Monday" today.
We were both busy dumfing (you know - needle-felting!).
Annie was making lovely little creations with her machine whilst I worked at a rather more leisurely speed with my little Clover hand dumfer.
We will show you the results later in the week I think.
I just wanted to say.....
The Valentine's Day shelf laden with pretty goodies is open in the shop - Sisters Crafty Creations - so pop over and see what we have made so far. Email me if you are interested in anything.
Thanks for calling by.

Finished by Friday - draught stopper!
I call them draught excluders others say draught stopper and some even spell it draft!
Whatever it is - it is a handy item for helping to keep out the cold!
This one is extra wide and made for a special friend's Nan. It is about 114cms - I usually make them about 90cm. It is tailor-made to fit her doorway and to match with her carpet and curtains.
I hope she likes it. I had fun choosing buttons and hand embroidering the decoration.
If you want to see others that we have made - there is a gorgeous black and shades of grey one in our blog shop...
Sisters Crafty Creations
or you can see the one Maxine and I made on New Year's Day here.
Two more are on eBay at the mo...
Burnt orange/beige
Warm reds/cream
If you would like one tailor-made to suit your needs - just email me!

WOYWW -Day 5 of advent
Good morning all - a double purpose to my blog post today.
I am trying to blog each day in the lead up to Christmas so check back at the other festive posts, if you are interested.
Annie gave me a pattern for a little fabic gift pouch so I gave it a go today.
I used old gold silk and some cream satin for the lining.
I am using it to pop a little scrapbox angel in ready to post to a special friend.
I think it looks OK - it turned out a bit soft and floppy and Annie said it needs to be stiff - erm... ladies!!!!
Yes - I should have used a crisp craft cotton but I quite like the softer look.
Next is my first attempt at a Christmas card.
I just can't get going with them this year.
This one has a little photo of snowdrops printed onto linen and then mounted over some tartan fabric with a little lace trim.
With a little more effort, I think it might be OK
And lastly - on funday Monday, Annie and I made a few more Christmas mice and I popped them in the blog shop - we sold all the others this week!
I hope you all have lots of lovely Christmas ideas for me to snoop as I blog hop around the WOYWW desks today.
Thanks for calling in here - please leave a little comment and then I can zoom over to see what you are up to.
x Jo
PS _ Just added my name to Mr Linky and read Julia's post.
Then I popped over to check out Santas Challenge - I think I will be donating - such great work going on there and such a gorgeous little girl called Alya and her Mum Caroline, who many of us know through this lovely blogging family WOYWW. Check it out -!

Finished by Friday 6
Well another Friday has come round, following a busy week.
I might be a bit late posting this one as I am trying to finish off a few projects and I have to fit a social life in!!
I am going to the Frost Fair at Attingham Park today so it will be interesting to see how well the crafts there are selling.
Thursday was mammogram day - I always have a chuckle when the letter arrives telling me I need to attend for my mammogram in Tesco's car park!!!
I digress - you came to see my crafty activities....
Two little angels for the swap that Jo of Jozarty organised...

Grace and Joy
This is the latest little pinafore dress that I made for Lexi.
I love the little flower buttons on the shoulder.
The fabric is a fine babycord so it should be nice and cosy.
Lots of kind folk decided to "like" our blog shop link on Facebook.
Thanks lots everyone.
If you haven't done so but would like to "like" us then follow the link...

That's it for this week - see you next week.

WOYWW - do you like us?
Well look at that!!! A tidy desk at long last.
Yes, all the clutter has been tidied away now that our craft fair is done and dusted!!
If you have read our earlier posts you will know we had a fun day but sold little. The shocking weather and possibly the fact that there were other craft fairs in nearby villages, meant that the footfall was poor and I think some only came to avail themselves of the wonderful refreshments!!
Anyway - we are always so optimistic - we decided to revamp the shop and then add a Facebook link to our shopping opportunity.
So-(and this is where I find Facebook hilarious) - if you like us - how about following the link
Facebook - Sisters Crafty Creations and "like" us!!!
Bonkers I know, cos we know you lovely folk like us or why else would you spend your Wednesdays popping in each week - lol.
OK so that's where we are up - my little sister and me.
My table has a few of my latest projects:
- little Christmas wreath collage beginnings that may eventually become Christmas cards
- a dumfed background which I hope to finish as a gift
- a little chunky hoodie that I am making for little Steve who is rapidly outgrowing the last one that I made him
- my Mollie Makes magazine - I haven't bought one for a while as I thought there were too many "empty" pages but this one had a few nice items - including a needle felted chicken by our blog buddy Gretel Parker of "Middle of Nowhere" blog.
AND below is little angel, Serena, who flew over to me from LL Jan this week. She is really lovely and so beautifully sewn by the talented Jan. I shall treasure her.
Jan called her Serena because she has a serene demeanour - like me then!!! lol
If you want to read more about our craft fair and see photos, then scroll down and also do the same on Annie's blog - A stitch in time.
Now join in our Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday blog hop by popping over to Julia's Stamping Ground and following the links.
Have a great week - keep dry and cosy!

Finished by Friday!!
Handmade crafts
"Finished by Friday" is going to be my showcase for all the little items
that I have hand crafted during the previous week.
I usually have a "show and tell" on my WOYWW post each Wednesday
but I decided I would really stretch myself and do two posts a week!! lol
So - here goes.......
Hand knitted baby cardigans
Above is the latest little sleeveless cardi that I have knitted for Lexi.
It should fit a 20" chest and has hand embroidered lazy daisy flowers and knots with little, floral buttons.
Just a cosy extra layer for the cooler Autumn days.
I am also putting them in our blog shop - Sisters Crafty Creations.
For those of you new to my blog - Sisters Crafty Creations is where my sister Annie (Wipso - A stitch in time) and I put all the items we have made in order to sell them online.
So, if you are interested then follow the link and then check out all our "shelves" in the shop by clicking on the links down the left hand side of Sisters Crafty Creations.
Tissue box covers
Poppies tissue box cover |
At the craft fair I will sell them complete with tissue box - they make a lovely gift.
Online it makes postage really cheap if I just sell the covers without the tissues.
I will package them in a cellophane bag.
White vintage lace n linen tissue box cover |
Vintage embroidery tissue box cover |
AND lastly
Here's one I made earlier....
This patchwork draught excluder is made from various furnishing fabrics.
It is embellished with buttons and hand embroidery and has polyester filling.

That's it for this week ...see you next week!
If you would like to leave a comment, I would love to hear from you. Thanks! x Jo

WOYWW - new supplies
Happy Wednesday to all our brilliant blogging friends who choose to drop in each week to see what we are up to.
I must apologise for the fact that I missed a few of my favourite desk visits last week. My laptop is on a go slow - don't know why - think I need my clever nephew to give it a going over!!
Also I must admit, I did get very taken up with all the Paralympic coverage. I loved every minute and was so full of admiration for all concerned. Congrats to everyone - it was a brilliant event.
Now - my table today has 3 new items that I have never used before - it's a "learn something new" week for me!! Modge Podge and freezer paper - lots of folk use these so I thought I might give them a try in some crafty activity or other. Also, there is a pack of Transfer Artist Paper - I saw the lovely Karen had been using it and The Craft Barn had lots of suggestions and posts about it last week. It fascinated me so I am going to try it.
In the front are little notecards from Vistaprint with my pretty felted dragonfly picture on them. It was free offer for 10 plus envelopes - bargain!!
On the left is a tiny felted canvas that I started but never got going with on fun day Monday.
Annie and I will pop each little canvas in the blog shop once they are finished.
This was my felting fun work table, in the sunshine, at the end of last week.
Today it's bright but there is a cold north wind, so I am indoors parcelling up my latest pic.
This was the first stage - just wet felted with some needle-felted yarns, lace and wool rovings.
I will blog the finished one when it's new owner has seen it.
And lastly my latest hoodies - don't they look cosy?OK folks - thanks for popping in - I promise I will try to get round a few more desks this week.
Have fun

WOYWW - Katie Morag
Firstly apologies Julia leader of the WOYWW Stamping Ground.
No desk on show today - just the results of a busy few hours of crafting at the old work table...
My nephew's fiancee starts teaching in September and asked me if I could make her a Katie Morag sock dolly. Well of course I could and what a pleasure to make a gift for someone just about to begin her chosen career.
I decided Katie also needed a nice big story sack so that all the resources can be kept together in one place - story books, maps, games and activities etc.
So with a little help from Annie on fun day Monday, I created this strong linen sack - of course a plain bag would be boring so I added a little seaside collage and Katie's name in tartan writing.
I think G will love it.
But then, I got to thinking about thetwo other young teachers working alongside G and decided maybe they would also like a little Katie......
If the extra two are unwanted I will pop them in the blog shop as I am sure someone will be wanting a little Katie looky likey. Funny how each one is different and almost has a little personality already.
Now wasn't that nicer than seeing my scruffy old table.
OK - now to tidy up that sewing room and table, so that I feel able to expose all next week. I just can't craft and create and keep the room tidy at the same time. AND I can hear Annie muttering that I am also quite good at turning her room upside down and getting glue all over her ironing board too!! Blushing and hiding my head in shame here!!!
Have a good WOYWW and thanks to all for your good wishes to M. She is a happy girl!

WOYWW
OK folks - sometimes a girl has to have a Spring clean in the sewing room!
My table is empty and my shelves are all dust-free.
And while I had a bit of clear space I put my craft fair items out. This is about all I have - so - if I want to fill a table at Montgomery Summer Craft fair - then I think I need to get crafting!!
You can see better pics of them all in our blog shop if you are interested.
These are my latest little knitties for the "Fish & Chip babies". I just couldn't resist adding a few lazy daisy flowers to the one set.
And these are the last three dresses which I made with the fabric the lady at the carboot sale donated for the cause. That's three more little girls who will get a frock via the "Dress a girl around the world scheme". I only have a few small pieces of fabric left now so I guess I shall have a rest and stock up when I spot anything suitable.
Short and sweet today but very colourful!
Have a great Wednesday blog hop - I am off to Julia's Stamping Ground to see what you have all been up to this week.

WOYWW
Happy Wednesday - to all our What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday friends - and anyone else who pops in to see what I am up to!!
Their mum asked if I could manage to make a couple more little cover ups for them this week. Well of course I can!! I found this cute spotty fabric in Watson & Thornton's in Shrewsbury. Perfect for the job.
My other little task was to make this pretty ivory satin horseshoe.
We have lots over in our blog shop - SistersCraftyCreations.
I made this one as a special request and added silk & satin flowers and tiny silvery beads.
I think it will make a nice keepsake don't you?
All this lovely wool came from Linda and Lyn of KEMPS WOOLS who went home and found me a
carrier bagful of odds and ends from their own supplies when they knew what I
was doing for the "Fish and Chip" babies. Crafters are such a generous bunch
aren't they. Thanks girls.
And here is what I have managed this week......
Annie now tells me that she has probably got another bag of wool coming from her craft suppliers. I think we shall be busy for months!! I am happy to knit in the evening - when my busy social life allows me (lol).
OK folks - join in the happy blog hop by following the link to Julia's Stamping Ground. All sorts of crafty folk meet up there on a Wednesday so pop over and see what they are up to this week.
Thanks to all my visitors last week - I love to read your comments and see what you have been busy with too.
Have a great week.
