My blue phase

Here, as promised, photos of my gorgeous hyacinth.

M. says they were really cheap from Tesco but I think they are wonderful.

The little florets are a delicate, lilacy blue with a waxy, velvety smoothness.

Three bulbs have produced four stems of blooms and their perfume fills my house. I know lots of folk find it over powering and it even causes hay fever like symptoms for some.

I wonder if I can use them as inspiration for my craft work. Maybe a wisp or two of silk might "dumf" nicely - watch this space!

Superb photography!
They are such a beautiful flower both in colour and fragrance.
I think having a scent even if a little strong is better than most flowers that we buy these days that have no scent at all!

Looking forward already to seeing how they influence you!

I love the scent of hyacinths, but they are hard to buy over here. Proper florists are REALLY expensive and the supermarkets sell flowers in rather odd bouquets...

I love hyacinths ..... but they make me sneeze, so I can't have them in the house!!

Not quite sure how I found you but I just LOVE blue hyacinths - they remind me of my Mum. Great photos - I really must get myself a better camera (a bad workman.....!!)

How could I resist that challenge!
Good to meet you. And what fantastic photos I can almost smell them from here.
They are such evocative plants of childhood memories when we grew them in glass containers in the cupboards at school.
