WOYWW 15th Anniversary

I am sure I won't be the only one who can't believe that we, happy band of crafters, have been sharing our crafty activities for the last 15 years.

Many thanks to Julia and Jan for keeping us all so beautifully connected. We have shared not only crafts but also friendship and much laughter. Life has been all the better for knowing you all.

We are looking forward to our meet up on Saturday and will take photos to share with everyone so that those who can't come won't miss out .

Here is my badge for the day...

I have made 18 ATCs.   I did a little bit of needle felting this year - after all, I do have plenty of Tilly Tea Dance resources here to dip into.πŸ˜ƒ

I will send one to my PIF and take the rest to the crop. So, if there are any left I will post them, first come first served, to anyone who would like one.

Happy 15th Anniversary!

Love from Jo

 Good morning all.

We have been enjoying the warmer, drier weather and have had a few outings. On Sunday we met a school friend in Llangollen and visited Plas Newydd and had a lovely lunch and walk beside the canal.

My sewing room has seen a bit of crafty action. I made some ATCs for our anniversary swap and a little hang about bin for a raffle prize.

I will swap ATCs at the crop and pass one forward on Mr Linky next week.

My latest twiddler is in its naked state here.....

And this is it now that it's finished.

I hope you have been making the most of the improved weather.

Have a great week.

It's been a busy week with a few trips out and a little bit of crafty activity.

On Saturday I went on our works outing with Tilly Tea Dance.πŸ˜ƒ

We went to Builth Wells in Mid Wales to the Wonderwool Wales Show.

Three halls full of gorgeous yarns and all sorts of woolly goodness and equipment kept us busy for about four hours. It was a perfect chance for Max to replenish her stocks for her artwork and workshops.

Just look at this lovely stuff

We also saw where the wool comes from..

Angora goats and Jacob's Sheep.

My own crafty activity has been the making of this Springtime twiddler..

.

This week I must get my head around some ATCs and maybe a little gift for a raffle prize.

I hope you are all well and trying to make the best of a long,  cold April. We did have a pleasant day with sunshine yesterday so hopefully things will improve.

Enjoy the May Day Bank holiday

 Happy Wednesday everyone!

Well it's been another week of celebration.

It was Maxine's birthday on the day  Ben ran the final laps of the Shropshire schools half marathon. He came 2nd in his group of about 200 year 3/4s.

We had brunch out and then Ben spent the weekend with us. So a fun time was had by all.

Here's the card I made for Max.....

Yesterday I spent an hour or two stitching brooch pins on the backs for some of Tilly's felt brooches. I was watching the snooker at the same time. I like to multi task🀣

And finally ...

Look what I saw on my way to pick Ben up from his school ...

We often get steam engines chugging up the line to Shrewsbury. Its always a delight to spot one.

Ben's school have just been awarded "Outstanding" by Ofsted so everyone deserves a celebration there too.

So that's me for this week

I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine.

Here we are again, sharing our workdesks and crafty activity with our WOYWW friends.

It's been a strange week. We've had highs and lows in our family and friend circle, including the sad loss of a family member and then our Golden Wedding. Thanks to all who sent us good wishes. Please help yourself to a slice of my celebration cake......

I struggled to find decorations for the top but Sainsburys had packs of golden balls, which somehow seemed appropriate!

I actually baked a small, medium and large one. Ben loves my rich fruit cake, so I sent the tiny one home with him. We shared the big one with friends and family at the weekend and I still have the other one for any late comers.πŸ˜ƒ

My crafty activity has been zilch this week.

So here is a little bug I saw on my door basking in the sunshine....

I love to see nature, as it wakes up, during Spring. I am still waiting to see my first swallow but, of course, my little sis has beaten me to it!

Have a good week all

WOYWW

Well, last week flew by with time spent with friends and family and, sadly, a funeral.

This week is unusual as hubby has been away for a few days so I have been free to roam! Nothing exciting but nice not to have get meals etc.

Today I am out for brunch and then decorating my wedding anniversary cake. When I was young I thought it was old folk who celebrated their Golden but somehow now that's me! We are not having a do but have invited friends and family for cake and a celebratory drink over the weekend. Then we plan on lots of nice days and meals out with them over the next few weeks.

The only crafty activity has been a bit of dyeing for Tilly. I found a new use for my net veg bags....

They were perfect for containing the wool, fluff and curls while they dry on my washing line

I am sure Tilly will love them and make good use of the results for her pictures and workshops

So that's me for this week

Have a good week. See you next week.

After a hectic week,, last week, I am back in my sewing room getting a few jobs done.

Apologies for not posting last week. We were at a wedding. It was a lovely day if just a tad parky!

Here is the card that I made for the bride and groom.

This week I have had Nanny duties and also admin for Tilly Tea Dance. She had finished some beautiful sunflower pictures so I framed them for her, ready to go into the shops and exhibition.

The time is flying by isn't it.

I just hope it will warm up soon and maybe rain a little less!

Have a good week all.

 Another week, another Wednesday.

I seem to have been busy over the last week and thankfully have my bounce back so have been out and about a bit more.

My crafty activity has involved knitting another Twiddler.

I just need to add a few bits and bobs to twiddle

Then I finished off two tiny cardigans....

Baked this yummy veggy puff for family tea on Monday

Now I need to use these pretty fabrics to make a wedding card.

Happy days!

Have a good week all.

 Good morning all

Having had success with my egg covers, I have started to fill another box so that they can be sold asap as Easter will soon be upon us!

I made a few more rabbits and some funky chicks and lambs.

I used white eyelash yarn for this one....

Cute isn't it

Apart from that, I have been finishing off the stock labelling for Tilly. She has been very busy with her artwork and even managed to order some coasters from her latest designs.

I hope you are enjoying the slightly warmer weather - we could do with some dry, sunny days now.

Have a good week.

WOYWW

 Good morning all

No photos from my desk this week.

It has mostly been covered with artwork which I have been pricing and labelling ready to restock Tilly's shelf at the Bog Visitors' Centre at The Stiperstones.

My own crafty activity has been limited to these little cuties ..

Our hospital put out a call for tiny baby cardigans so I found my patterns and yarn from my stash and set to. They are tiny so don't take too long to make.

The knitted egg covers from last week , all 50 of them, went to the charity on Saturday and were all sold within 48 hours so I might potter on with a few more this week.

Now that I have my bounce back,  I am getting out and about, making up for lost time!

Have a good week all.

Wednesday 28 February 2024

WOYWW

Well, after another week of cough and head cold, I finally feel as if I'm on the mend.

It's been a quiet, at home, keep cosy and potter sort of week. My knitting has meant that time wasn't wasted. I now have given a total of 50 little egg covers to Annie to pass onto the HJ charity.

These are the latest.  .

And here is the second basket full...

My haberdashery stash is like the magic cooking pot. I needed about 2 metres of bias binding to edge the basket liner so that I could thread elastic through it. There it was, just waiting for me in a drawer. A 3m metre length of bright yellow bias binding that has probably been there at least ten years! Good job I hate to throw anything away.πŸ˜€

So that's me for this week.

Have a good week all

Good morning to all the desk sharers and friends who just pop by to see what I am up to.

This week I have been mostly helping Maxine with Tilly Tea Dance admin. I have edged bookmarks with satin stitch and mounted and framed pictures. It's lovely to be working on such beautiful art work.

On Saturday I took Annie my basket full of chocolate egg filled knitted chicks and rabbits. It looked very Springlike. Hopefully they will make money for the charity.

And this week I have my cough and cold back. I think I need a vitamin boost!

I hope you have enjoyed these lovely mild days and are all feeling bright and breezy.

Have a good week all.

Wednesday 14 February 2024

WOYWW

The weeks are flying by and here we are in the middle of February!

Thankfully, I feel I am back to normal and getting out and about a bit more. It means we have had a few lovely walks and I've started swimming again so, all good stuff.

My main crafty activity has involved these little fellas....

I have popped a creme egg in each one and they will go for sale to raise funds for charity.

I've just bought some rainbow wool to make a few funky chicks to go with the plain yellow ones

This little chap takes much longer to knit but well worth the effort. Who doesn't like Peter Rabbit.πŸ˜€

I made a pretty lining for the basket so they can be displayed nicely.

That's me for this week. I will try and visit a few more desks than I did last week.

Hoping you are all well.

Have a good week

Wednesday 7 February 2024

WOYWW

 Good morning all.

If you are hoping to see a busy work desk today then I am sorry to disappoint you. I have been busy with admin for Tilly Tea Dance which included framing puffin pictures and putting together packs for her next pansy picture workshop.

If you would like to see her work you can follow the link to her website.. . .Tilly Tea Dance.

So, today I am sharing some of the lovely colours that I noticed, on a gloomy wet day in my garden, yesterday.

Firstly, my little Tete a Tete....

The blooms opening on the Camelia...

And the lovely peachy red of the Chaenomelese Japonica

And finally - not in my garden but at Attingham Park. NT.. snowdrops!.

So that's it for today.

I hope the Spring colours provide a bit of cheer for you all. It's been a very sad time for some of our group so I am sending love and all our good wishes to Elizabeth and also to Zoe who lost her son this week. It makes me think we must make the best of every day.

WOYWW

Well, we tested negative at last, on Saturday. I still have a slight cough but I'm looking forward to getting back to normal now

I've been busy, in my spare moments, edging bookmarks for Till Tea Dance. She made thirty in total. Here are the first ones that I finished for her.

Then she brought five more....

I go round each one with a zig zag to hold the edge together and then I put my machine to a neat satin stitch for the final round. I use Madeira rayon thread which is shiny and in gorgeous colours. It takes about 12 minutes per bookmark, so not a quick fix, but I enjoy doing it

We celebrated hubby's birthday this week with a family meal here. I'd forgotten how long it takes to get organized. It was lovely and every plate was cleared so obviously appreciated.

I even made him a cake with candles on it!

So that's me for this week.

Sending a big hug to all our WOYWW friends who need it.

WOYWW

Well, my week of COVID enforced hibernation has been fine. I missed having Ben for his usual weekly school pick up and tea here, but have filled my time with a few admin jobs for Tilly Tea Dance and some crafty activities.

This week we are in the pink...

I have created two pink twiddlers.

They have twiddly bits inside and out

This one has a leftover fairy that I knitted before Christmas.

My friend sent me some lovely flowers as a little treat. It seems ages since I have been able to meet up with friends and family so these lovely blooms cheered me up.

I am counting my blessings really as I haven't felt poorly, just fed up with my cough and  COVID.

Others have had far more to trouble them over the last few weeks so I am sending my love and thoughts to them.
