WOYWW and Wipso's new top.

Hi folks!!
Bit late for WOYWW because I have been helping Wipso with some curtains and cutting out.
She loves it, as I have to grovel on the floor at her feet as I cut big curtains on the floor!! It didn't take all day so we enjoyed a bit of quality time together too.
On my desk today is the WIP. I told you last week I was designing a new top for Wipso and lots of you kind folk said you wanted to see my progress.
So, as you see from my photo, there is a brown paper pattern in a plastic bag and a very colourful toile made from odd bits of sheeting. (A toile is just the garment cut out and made up in cheap fabric so that it can be tried on an adjusted before cutting out in best fabric).

In the middle is my rough sketch and on the right you can see the partially made top ready to take for Wipso to try for final adjustments before finishing.
Off I went down to help with the curtains and to surprise Wipso with a half finished top.
We tried it on and tweaked it a little and then I finished it.
I am sure when I make it up in the next piece of fabric - a gorgeous red piece - it will look even better.
Now you know Wipso hates having her photo taken but she decided I could reveal all to you, so here you are folks........
She loved the top even though it was made in my choice of fabric - just a piece I had in my fabric stash. It was still unfinished at this stage but we rushed out into her garden for a little photo shoot and had her elderly neighbour giggling from her bedroom window watching me do my David Bailey act!!!
Now I am off to visit a few blogs whilst the footie is on. Join in with WOYWW by going over to Julia's blog and following the links on Mr Linky.
Oh and Hi to Linby who we met for the first time on Monday eve. What a lovely lady!!!

*Waving at Annie* great pic - lovely top Tiglet, just lovely..see half the skill is the patience and I'm not at all patient enough to design, make up a toile and then start again! You're amazing.

Well done you on your super top for Annie! Blimey girl, what a fab photo too but as you said it was unfinished that ruined my mental image then as suddenly I pictured Annie baring her rear view to the bushes!!

Isnt Annie photogenic! You need to catch her out a few more times!

Your making the 'toile' brought back memories of when I used to do the same. Wish I still enjoyed it as it was the only time I ever had a top that fitted me properly, Lol!

Thanks for sharing the photo shoot.

I hate my photo taken too, got brave for the crafty mag because it was only a little one but the next crafty mag made it bigger, very scarry!! But I think we all think that..Umm...well I know what I mean!

I wish I could master the sewing machine. I'll just stick to card making, that's more my area :)

I used to do a bit of dressmaking but was never, ever patient enough to do a mock-up first - occasionally I pinned some newspaper together but that was about it! Looking forward to seeing it in red too! xx

Yep I agree with everyone else - great to see wipso in the flesh so to speak but now we need a piccy of you too hun, and how ever patient are you making up a dummy top first and then doing the real thing!! Looking forward to seeing the red one too.

Sooo sorry I haven't been to play here recently. Haven't read a single blog of anyones for what seems like months. Treating myslef to a little catch up today though, and have read yours allll the way back! You have been soooo busy! I am astonished that you have had time to blog at all. Love the African flower thingys. I can't crochet at all so am always impressed and I do like the colour ways. Very very impressed with Wipsos new top. Another thing I am hopeless at - dressmaking.... Wipso looks great.
Promise not to stay away for so long!
