Is it just me?
This is the view across the building site from my sewing room window.
Every time I glance out I have to smile at Mr Badger draping himself on a brick plinth.
I presume it's just a heap of builder's belongings.
Can you see what I mean?
No.
Ah well, it's just me then!
For more smiles - just pop over to Annie's "A stitch in time" blog and see what's making her smile today!
have a great weekend.

Good morning all - I hope you are well wrapped up for this early autumn weather we are all enjoying!
It's been a bit wild, wet, and chilly here for the last few days.
My desk is very neat and tidy with just the remnants of Maxine's busy half hour when she was trying to finish her crocodile page for the busy book. Note the neatly sorted boxes of bobbin threads.
Below is my latest little hoodie - I just need to decide what colour buttons to put on it. What do you think?
And here is the little card that I made for one of my friends who has just had a new grandson.
My next job is to shorten a pair of ready made curtains for my lounge.
I told hubby I was collecting the pole today and his response was...
"Oh I hope he is going to put the curtains up"
My daughter's response was...
"I didn't know you'd been having dance lessons!"
My family!
Shall I post a pic of me pole dancing next week then?!!
And on that note...
Have a great week.
Thanks for calling by.
See you soon.

Friday smile
The Value of a Smile
It costs nothing, but creates much;
It enriches those who receive without
impoverishing those who give;
It happens in a flash, and the memory of it
sometimes lasts forever;
None are so rich they can get along without it,
and none so poor but are richer
for its benefits.
It creates happiness in the home, fosters good
will in a business, and is the countersign of friends.
It is rest to the weary, daylight to the
discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and
nature’s best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or
stolen, for it is of no earthly good to
anybody until it is given away.
Nobody needs a smile so much as those who
have none left to give.
If you feel in need of a smile - just pop over to Annie's "A stitch in time" blog and see what's making her smile today! Her new poppy blog header makes me smile every time I see it.
Have a great weekend.

Good morning all!
Where do these weeks go - here we are on What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday again.
We love showing our work desks and anything that we have been busy with.
This week I have managed to elbow Maxine off my sewing table for a little while!
My friend needed clothes for Sindy and Action Man so I have been making tiny outfits in my spare time.
Also, I found a nice chunky cardi pattern for Ben and some chunky wool - not sure if Max will like it but I will knit it up anyway.
She decided a seat harness, that they could use on normal chairs when out and about, would be very useful. So, using a friend's as a pattern this is what I came up with. I love the little elephants on the fabric - a nice practical colour way too, I think.
Ben seems happy enough in it....
Annie and I managed a quick shopping trip to Watson and Thorntons in Shrewsbury yesterday.
If you need fabric or haberdashery - it has a wonderful selection (See LLJ's blog from last week!)
I bought some spotty tabling and Annie bought some fabric for backgrounds. Brian is always so knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to finding suitable fabric etc.
Well that's it for this week.
I hope you are all well and making the most of Summer.
Thanks for calling by.

Friday smile
My Friday smile:
These little daisies are raising a smile in my new garden at the moment.
This is the google description....
leucanthemum-superbum-broadway-lights
A remarkable introduction from the Netherlands, this produces daisies in a gorgeous butter-yellow shade fading to ivory.
Hope you are enjoying a sunny Friday!
Have a great weekend.

My work table is still rather empty this week.
Maxine has been using it to make her busy book for Ben and I have been having the best time - playing with the little one. He is coming along so rapidly - we see something new that he can do every day.
Luckily he loves all the big diggers and dumpers that are busy on the building site so he enjoys watching them from the house. The workmen have started waving and tooting their horns for him now!
If you want to see what Maxine has been up to just follow the link to Tilly Tea Dance.
She is a clever little crafter. I think she will also be joining in with our weekly blog hop on WOYWW.
My crafty activity has been limited to knitting a couple of hoodies.
I have made so many now, I can almost knit them with my eyes shut - er and that sometimes happens!!!
Here are the latest two.. . .
Enjoy your snoop and leave a message so that I know you have been!
Have a great week.

Friday smile
A little splash of colour on my patio to make you smile today!
In the foreground is a most beautiful little "Tom Thumb" Fuchsia.
The lovely LLJan brought it with her for me on Tuesday.
I popped it out on my sunny little patio and it looks very happy there. I just need to find a pretty patio pot to put it in. I am sure I have the perfect one at my old house.
It's another stunning day here today - I hope it's the same for you all.
Pop over to Annie's "A stitch in time" for more happiness.
Have a lovely weekend and keep smiling!

In praise of WOYWW
We know why we bare our desks every Wednesday - we like to share a little of what we do with a few like minds around the globe.
BUT ---occasionally we like to go a bit further (daring, I know!)
Yesterday was one of those days.
At about 9.45 my dear, much younger sister rocked up on my doorstep with... Guess Who...... LLJ..
Yes our very own Lunch Lady Jan!
She was on holiday in our area and we planned a crafty day here together.
Well, needless to say - not much crafting took place - rather more chatting and laughter really, but, what a lovely day we had.
Jan is a real treasure and patiently listened and watched while I showed her my free- machining technique! She was even kind enough to say she had learned a lot - bless her!
Now, being the hostess, I didn't have much time to take pics so, if you want to see us all in action then you will have to check out their blogs today here and here.
Jan was so lovely and didn't seem to mind the fact that my crafty stash is piled around the place in bags and boxes and every room in my new house is still lampshade free ( I think I will start a new trend!)
Maybe next time we all meet up, my place might be a bit more organised but it just goes to show that it's not the place but the people that are important in life and we are so lucky to have met such a special one.
So, yet again thanks to Julia (the birthday girl) for keeping WOYWW going and for rounding us all up together.
Oh, and I think I will call my photo "Empty desk syndrome" - it's very quiet here!!!!!
Have a great week everyone - see you next time.

All change!
I decided to move my craft table away from the window - Partly to make more room for extra crafters (You know who you are!!) and also, at this time of year it is almost too bright in front of the window and we suffer from glare as we craft on a sunny afternoon.
So this was me yesterday....
I was sorting out some ideas for needle felting (dumfing) and had a few of my books out looking for inspiration.
And this is me today....
Table turned through 90% and a little bit tidier!
On the end is a little hoodie that I have just finished knitting.
Ben has lots of little girl friends who will soon need 1st birthday presents. All the mums seem to like hand knitties, so I have been busy.
Lastly, as I sorted out all my bits and bobs, I found my lovely ATCs waiting for a book to keep them in.
This lovely ATC and clever little envelopes came from Robyn (Rainbowweaves blog). It was at my old house waiting for me. I love all the stamps from around the globe - so appropriate for a WOYWW swap!
Thanks Robyn.
That's it for this week.
Have a great week but take care in the heat wave.
I hope our blog buddie Julia has enjoyed her hols - pop over and join our blog hop on her Stamping Ground blog spot!
