WOYWW

Happy St David's Day to all our Welsh friends!

Our daffs - well the Tete a tetes -  are in full bloom to celebrate.

Welcome to a a little more denim delight.

I have enjoyed my latest sewing time and my pile of jeans is slowly dwindling.

So this week I have had fun making  a parliament of owls....

I found the idea on Pinterest and just used denim and some furnishing fabric scraps. I stuffed them with a couple of layers of wadding and stitched round leaving a raw edge. Most of them have been snapped up by the youngsters in our family. They are about 4 inches tall and seemed to have instant appeal 😀

Another Pinterest idea turned into this fun item...

I think I might keep this for myself or sell to the highest bidder. 🤣

So that's me for this week.

Have a good week all.

x x Jo

  5. Those owls are fab! They all have such distinct personalities which made me smile! Are they brooches? The denim bag is fun too, I’ve see the tops of jeans made into short aprons too, the sort that gardeners put their fibbers in…..what?! Stop sniggering *grin*
In answer to your question, I think I’ve been cutting up poly cotton and cotton sheets, it doesn’t show, just a background to sew the strips onto. There’s so much stitching, I don’t think it matters, it’s all held together well and should go through a washing machine cycle ok!

  6. Those owls are super cute. What a great idea and I love the bag made from the other bits of jeans. I think I have somewhere, a sheet telling you how to make a bag from a shirt, using the collar cuffs, etc. I made one years ago but am sure I still have the instructions. If I find it I will send it on to you.
