Another week another WOYWW - I don't know where the time goes.
Maxine had a little sewing job for me this week. I made 4 pretty gingham covers for kitchen chairs.
I even put little zips across the back but taking the cushions in and out was a bit of a tight squeeze.
I needed to roll the cushion and it was a bit like giving birth - the space provided seemed way too small for the item to exit. However, with a little effort (well quite a lot if you are still thinking of birthing!) it was possible, so the end result was very satisfying.
Of course, I can't post on a Wednesday without giving you a little twiddler update.
I have ten more to go to the hospital plus I made 4 for some of our WOYWW buddies. These lovely folk have also made donations to Shaz's charities in lieu of payment. So, its a win win situation - I get to make themed twiddlers and someone else can benefit from the charitable funds raised - result!
AND my latest bit of fun...
I know I am bonkers but it makes me happy.
So that's it for this week.
Enjoy your week - keep well and stay safe.
xx Jo
Well done on the cushions! and the twiddlers, too! Have a good week Helen #3
ReplyDeleteLove the cushions...I do find my midwifery training is never wasted when doing several of my sewing jobs too Jo 😀😀😀 love the latest twiddlers too....what an imagination you’ve got.

I’m standing at the back of the letter box ready for my twiddler to arrive heehee. Thanks Jo, you’re a star. Put a pic on your blog if you like and the story behind it. I’ve sent a donation off in Shaz’s name. It feels like a circle of life what we’ve done between us.

Love the latest twiddlers and your description of getting the cushions into the covers made me laugh! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#11)
ReplyDeleteMy hair looks exactly like the egg cosy figure’s!! I’m so glad that it’s getting cut today as four months of chopping it myself have resulted in it being tidy but no shape! Your description of trying to get the cushion in the cover made me laugh, we all know what you mean!! And the twirlers are fantastic, you’re such a wonderful lady.

Morning Jo. I am not in the least surprised your little egg cosy keeps you happy! he's just so much fun. For some strange, weird reason none of my family like boiled eggs - daft the lot of them! Great twiddlers - and well done with the cushion covers. Giving birth... hmm... I can see it could be a bit like that - only in reverse:-( pushing in instead of out.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Oh wow, how gorgeous is that rainbow?! You sound very busy for sure. I posted Miss B's twiddler on instagram a couple of days ago (not sure if you're on there) but it was very well received and a few people were asking how to order. They are definitely very saleable! I had a message back from Wolf Watch thanking me for the donation and expressing sympathy regarding Shaz and that the money will go only to the guy that looks after her particular wolves which I thought was lovely (not to him direct obviously, but for his pack.)! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8
ReplyDelete"it was a bit like giving birth" LOL! This looks like months' worth of work to me and you did them in just a week! I'm impressed! The twiddlers look fun as usual and what a cute little character at the end! Wishing you a happy week! xx zsuzsa #21
ReplyDeleteThe cushions look good and I bet Maxine loves them. The Twiddlies are gorgeous and the egg warmer too. Have a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x18x
ReplyDeleteI always make cushion covers really snug as the filling soon gets bashed down-checked fabric always looks so fresh. Love your knitted things too. Happy crafting.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant work with the cushions, Jo, but I'm still trying to un-see that birthing picture you described so well. Great work with the twiddle muffs and the little egg cosy is sooooo cute. Have a great week. Hugs, Ellie x #22
ReplyDeleteIf bonkers means folks make lovely little things (and big ones when necessary) then I wish I had a whole world surrounding me of bonkers friends.
ReplyDeleteLove the latest Twiddlemitts, the rainbow one is gorgeous and the footie one will just delight some old guy. But then your little character at the end is lovely too and perfect for Easter.
Had a smile at your description of trying to get the filler cushion in the chair seats - beautiful 'bigger' makes from you.
Hugs, Neet 15 xx
Terrific cushion covers and new twiddlers :) Is your happy little guy a hard boiled egg cover?! Too cute with his big grin ~ Love it! Blessings on your week ~ Karen#29
ReplyDeleteWell done for batlting with the cushions! Love the new Twiddlers ...and that fabulous egg cosy!! Hugs, Chrisx #33
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm so late! I spy my twiddler! That has come in handy this week and last week! We still can't go see Lady Pam yet, which is odd I think, because when the carers children had to stay home and wait for a test result, we had to go in and look out for her, but, 'wear masks at all times and not stay more than 15 minutes...' hoping we can pop in this coming week! Stay Safe! Keep crafting. Happy WOYWW ((Lyn)) #19
ReplyDeleteGreat twiddlers, Jo, and also great work with the cushions. I am going to have to do something about my kitchen perching stool because the plastic cover on the seat is splitting - it's had a lot of use over the years. Not sure what to do but I think a fabric cover would be really nice, and it would also make it look prettier and less like hospital equipment!!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
