Happy wet Wednesday everyone!
Just a few things to share with you today.....
I sorted out the few Christmas stamps that I have er.. just in case I fancy making some stamped cards. ( Usually I make fabric collage and embroidered ones). I helped Wipso to sort all her stamps ready for her grand stamp sale this week and it reminded me that M. and I had a few stamps somewhere.
If the wonderful card makers amongst you would like to browse/purchase any of Wipso's stamps, you can find them here in our blog shop.
Below the stamps, you can see two little embroidered pieces that I found at the car boot sale this week. Don't know what I will do with them but they were too pretty to leave dirty and unloved in a junk box!
The open magazine is my new Stitch mag. Inside is an article by Michala Gyetvai. I love her work and follow her blog Kayla Coo where she shows us how she can transform her sketches into wonderful embroidered pictures.
You can also spot my Argos catalogue. Great news here because I won some vouchers and I have been planning how to spend them!!!
So that's my work desk - I don't think I shall be working there today as I am recovering from a tummy bug and feel a bit limp!! I will soon bounce back.
In the meantime - two pics to share with you.
The first is the view from Old Churchstoke towards the Welsh mountains which you can just see in the far distance. It was such a beautiful morning on Sunday and we made the most of it by going for a walk with M. This was the view when we were half way round.
The photo below is the result of my comment that the hedge needed trimming!!!
Within an hour, half of it was lying on the lawn, ready to be bagged up and taken to the tip.
It looks a bare, brown mess at the moment but I am assured that it will be green by Springtime!
Hope you have enjoyed checking out my blog. Thanks to all who manage to visit each week. It's great to hear from you. I try to get round as many as I can because I love to see what you are all up to. I usually manage about half of Mr linky's list over several days!! If you want to join in or, have no idea what I am talking about, then visit Julia's blog today!
Lovely finds from the car boot sis. Hope you're feeling much better today. I'm smiling at you going public on trimming your bush. Thats not what I would call a trim....more of a good cut back! :-)

That looks like my idea of a light trim in the garden LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you will soon be feeling better, Twiglet. I love the idea of being an owner of embroidered pieces and not yet knowing what to do with it. :-)) Very good picture of the Welsh Mountains, it beams me over to you. Impressed how quick that trim was done - mine is 350 m (2 sides) of horthorn and sloe still waiting.
ReplyDeletegreat gardening =) thanks for the peek today

Great post and pics. I'm in the middle of scalping my hedges at the moment too. They've been gradually getting taller, so I'm putting a stop to that !

Gorgeous pictures of the Welsh mountains. One of these days I will post some pictures of the beach where I live. Right now we are having a bit of a Tropical Storm. Lots of Rain no strong winds though. I needlework projects are awesome. Linda #125
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me today! Your route for walking is beautiful! Are you sure you won't do some stamping this year? Maybe use them to stamp cloth to embroider?
ReplyDeleteFeel better!

Nice finds at the car boot sale. I hope you are feeling better by now.
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the Welsh Mtns. were awesome. I always love it when people show places I'll probably never see in my lifetime. As for that bush trim, it's a good thing you have a handy worker to help you. It would have taken me two weeks to cut them and two more to get rid of them. Bleubeard would have been no help at all! Happy WOYWW (#1).
Ahh car boots, so cold but so fabulous. Great to see your finds and to know what is inspiring you. And what a fantastic setting for a walk.
ReplyDeleteHello Twiglet! I know what you mean by having to save the pretty embroidery from languishing in a junk box unloved! I see you've got your CPS on your table- I go through that magazine from cover to cover! Patsy from
ReplyDeleteHeARTworks

Hello!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely view you have shared, its beautiful! Your trimming pic has reminded me that I ought to get into my own jungle (sorry, garden) and get busy before the cold weather descends!
I also like to visit Kayla Coo's blog, she is mightily talented isn't she? Thank you so much for visiting me today, its always nice of you to take the time to stop by.
Sending love

ReplyDeleteThat magazine looks interesting and I love your pin cushion! Thanks for sharing - Sunshine Girl
ReplyDeleteHope you are now feeling much better Twiglet. Love those embroidered pieces on your desk - reminds me of the embroidery my Mum used to do many years ago. What a stonking great hedge you have - it's more like a park than a garden!! Hope hubby had a lie down after all that hard work! Beautiful photo of the Welsh Mountains - I guess the colours will be changing quite soon now Autumn is on the doorstep.
ReplyDeleteLove, Sylvia xxx
I hope you're feeling better. I loved seeing the photos!

That embroidery looks fab. My lovely sis made us one for our first anniversary, ofcourse i had to frame it. I cant imagine why anyone would throw things like that out. Hope you find a suitable home for the pieces, and ofcourse post an update so we can enjoy.
ReplyDeletecaroline #141
Our hedge is needing more than a trim here....
ReplyDeleteThose embroidery pieces are to lovely to be left behind. I have that issue, but haven't had a chance to sit down and look through it properly. TFS!
