Blogger is playing me up today or maybe its just me!
Wipso - that little sewing wonder woman, who we all know and love - gave me a little sewing job.
Two pairs of curtains - 3 metres long!!!!! As you know, I always help her cut curtains but these were so big we decided it would be easier if I sewed them here at home where I can spread out. Sorry, I forgot to take a snap - the fabric was very pretty and it sewed like a dream. They just weighed a ton because they had thermal linings.
Now - I can hear you thinking so what's on the desk today then???
Well even the most skilled craftsperson can have little accidents.....
I dropped those lovely, sharp, pink, thread snippers on my black linen - trousered leg and pierced two neat, round holes in the them!!! Hence this morning found me doing an invisible darn....
You can't see it can you???? Ha - must have worked then!! Lol.
Also on my desk are a few more of my African flowers which I made at the Knit n natter on Saturday. Great to see you Suz and hope the big sleep boosted your batteries.
And finally....
Last night my wonderful little sis and her gem of a hubby took me out for tea and to the Severn Theatre to see "That'll be the day". If you like golden oldies from the 60's and 70's then go and see it - it was fab!

ReplyDeleteThere is something quite satisfying in making curtains I find, as much as they are a bit boring, they look like curtains in no time at all!! My kind of making I think!!

Have a great week! I wish I could make curtains (and sew in general!) as my daughter quite enjoys making things and I haven't really given her much encouragement to expand her repetoire. I hoped she would do it on her own, but she wants me to do it with her, and my heart sinks! I always get in a tangle - you've either got it or not, and I haven't!!

ReplyDeleteMorning Jo, couldn't see your repair so must have done a fantastic job. I dropped my pokey tool once it cut through my trousers and into my leg ouch, had a nice spot there for weeks. The cat on the record player is the picture I use on the Trimcraft forum, he is cute isn't he...my cat, Frog, would probably do that , if we had a record player! We had a treadmill thingy once she got on...Hubby was really mean and made it go fast!

See, I can use the invisible thingy, but the trouser would have sat on the to do pile for so long. I really need you and Wipso to donate genes!! We had a fab night at a similar 'thing' not long ago - honestly,we were hoarse from joining in and shouting along.
