Good morning all.
I've been busy with my usual tasks for Tilly this week. The fluff above is for her "Inspiration packs". I just put together toning colours with some yarns and textural bits and bobs.
On Saturday we went to a Model rail exhibition at St Mary's church Shrewsbury. I enjoyed the models but was a bit distracted by the church textiles and some ceramic plaques
The banners were old style needlework but fascinating to look at close up .
The ceramic plaques were made by the local college students. I loved them and think they reflected the windows and architecture of the church brilliantly.
So that's me for this week.
Have a great week everyone.
x x Jo
I can see why you were distracted, the banners and plaques are fabulous! Happy WOYWW Helen #1
ReplyDeleteThose ceramic plaques are such a good response to the architecture of the building. Yes I would have been as distracted as you 😂

Thanks for the inspiration packs Jo - I stocked up at the last class. Some fabulous art work at the church - thanks for sharing it. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
ReplyDeleteOh! Beautiful blues! I love those colours! I would be distarcted by those panels as well, so much history! And the tiles are very well done as well. I'm pretty sure I've heard of Shrewsbury in a few of the medeival novels that I've read! I've read the Cadfael novels which, I think, take place in Shrewsbury. How wonderful to be able to visit! Have a wonderful week! Lindart #14
ReplyDeleteHello Jo, I love the colours you've pulled out, especially those blues! You've reminded me of the many times I accompanied Alan to a model railway exhibition. They were very often in church buildings that were as equally fascinating as the exhibits. Hugs, Ellie x #3
ReplyDeleteThe banners at St Mary's church are beautiful and I'm not surprised that you were distracted by them. The colours look very bright and colourful and the stitching must have been so lovely for you to see.
ReplyDeleteThe students did a fantastic job with their interpretations of the windows and architecture. I hope people also enjoyed the model rail exhibition as well.
Thank you for sharing your visit and have a lovely sunny week.
