WOYWW

So here we are sharing our desks, on another Wednesday, with our lovely Julia at Stamping Ground and all our WOYWW buddies.

This week I have had a little more crafty time which has been great. It seems like a real treat to get into my sewing room and have fun.

Annie sorted some of that wonderful fabric for me to make some hang about bins. So here we are..

One all alone..

Four finished ready to go to a local show on the Harry Johnson stall to raise funds for the cancer support charity in his name.

Annie and I had to chuckle at my search for buttons. We both had these...

As she said, it's high time we used them as the pricing is pre decimalisation so at least 50 years old!!!

I actually used these...

They just required a bit of needle weaving with turquoise yarn. I think they looked good and saved me buying more buttons.

Today I am meeting friends at National Trust Erddig near Wrexham. I am hoping we have a bit of sunshine so that we can enjoy the gardens.

Have a great week all

x x Jo

  2. Don't you love it when you finally find a way to use something you have been hoarding for just the right project? I think those hang bags are brilliant and well done. Love these says a woman who mostly sews paper to paper and paper to fabric. Happy WOYWW from # 3. Enjoy your day out and about.

  6. We've been to Erddig so you enjoy yourself with your friends.
I remember those buttons for covering, don't suppose I have any though.
Well done on the hanging pots, I use mine (made by Jo Pritchard) regularly each day.

  8. I shall lower the tone once again but Cover your Buttons made me hoot! It brings to mind tassels…possibly going in opposite directions *snigger*. But they worked and you cleared some stash, that’s a win-win any day of the week. The little bins are fab and putting some stiffening around the top really makes a difference. So lovely to catch up on Saturday, let’s do it again soon!

  9. Good morning!

I've not seen those 'make your own' buttons in ages! What a lovely treat to find them in your stash.

love the bags. I have one a friend made me years ago when I left Micheals and retired to the Ozarks. Hangs right here beside me. The ones she made are weighted down with two 3-1/2" washers glued together. Yours are much prettier.

Trying to get to everyone before the storms roll in.

  10. I think it's great that you are using old products from long ago. I have been using lots of paper but then again, I do have so very much decorative papers in my craft room!

  12. I have one of those bins though not quite the same. I take it to the Craft Club with me, it's really useful. Oh my the buttons! I must show you some of mine sometime, I don't know how I'/ve managed to collect so many and some of them are still attached to the original card. I think when I was teaching people just thought it a good idea to pass stuff on to me bugt I could do with passing some of them on again. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x11x

  13. Oh my those buttons are mighty old. Decimalisation was on my birthday in February 1971, remember it well!! Mainly as my mother had a wool shop and the chart of the currency changes was on the wall, I was only 7yrs, so yes 52 years ago now! Anyway your hang about bins are super and the woven buttons go really well. Hugs BJ#7
