WOYWW

Good morning all - welcome to my offering for WOYWW today!

As you can see, the old knitting needles have been busy twiddlemuffing. I was given lots of lovely wool, so I decided to use it for a  few more of these little mitts - they will be going to the local hospital for use with patients who have dementia.

AND this is is going to be one of six little patches in the centre of a cot quilt. It is my first attempt at this sort of patchwork and I am really quite pleased with it. I am not usually very good at cutting and sewing accurately so it was quite a challenge for me. I hope I can manage five more without losing my patience!

Well that's it for today.
I am  having fun playing with Ben today.

Have a great week.

x Jo

  1. Thanks for your comment but sorry no I won't be taking orders....labour of love only as my hands are just too shaky for fine painting now. Love the twiddle mitts and the quilt will look stunning when it's done.

  2. Hi Jo, Love the twiddlemuffs - great colours. The patchwork block is really pretty too and perfect for a cot quilt. I start back at the quilting class tomorrow which means I'll be cutting out and that always makes me nervous. I use a rotary cutter and a ruler but still adhere to the old dressmaking rule, measure twice, cut once! Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #21

  5. I adore the quilt square and think I may do something similar for a baby quilt in the near future. When you are working and creating from the heart it all turns out beautiful in the end.

  6. Loving the little mitts, when visiting mother, so many of the residents are always loving the warmth of yarn/wool cuddle ups. The start of your quilt square is lovely. Can't wait to see the finished item. Enjoy little Ben, I miss having the grands close by. Have a lovely day, here I will it is on a warm up already.

  15. I can sew around in squiggles ... sort of...but, I discovered sewing a straight line on some pot holders I attempted..was tough ... hahahaha... I have a lovely machine and not a scooby doo how to sew. My husband wanted me to have a machine when I was doing dolls...but, I mostly stitched things by hand...and still do... but he was a sweetie to get it for me... and, I will try to use it from time to time...
