WOYWW- crafting and clearing!

 Good morning all!
I have been enjoying inchie fun this week!
Now before any of you get carried away with the possibilities.... if you don't know about inchies - here are my two examples....
The one above is in shades of pink/turquoise and I made it especially for my little sis as a birthday card but with the idea that, if she liked it enough, it might go on her new sewing room wall.

The one below is a little get well card/pressie for one of our friends.
Same technique just different colour combo.

They are fun to do. I just created some background fabric using Bondaweb/Angelina and scraps of threads/shiny bits and bobs, overlaid with old chiffon scarf.
I chopped it up into inch size squares and then sat cosily embellishing each one each evening.
I think the longest job was the blanket stitch around each square but even that was theraputic!
Below is my tidy work table and the roman blind that I made for Annie.
We might show a pic when she has it in place in her new bathroom.
The gorgeous felted picture behind it is one that Maxine made. She has had requests for more, so is spending every minute she can dumfing (needle felting) and stitching.
Now, this is the state of my desk today!

I am in the process of clearing and organising my room and I just dumped all my tat in a heap on my table while I rearranged some of the furniture. One day I will be all neat and tidy!

Thanks for calling by and leaving lovely messages.
If you want to see the completed mini monster suit that I was busy with last week, then scroll down to my Friday smile post.

Have a great week.
x Jo

  5. I'm thinking of doing inches for one of my workshops next year. I've always loved the ones Yvonne Moxon does at Boxoftrix.
Yours are really pretty colours Jo. I'm saying nothing about clearing up, you haven't seen the state of my floor haha.
    Enjoy your week

  11. Woah...impressively messy desk this week!! Enjoy the sorting out and tidying - I find that sort of thing quite cathartic. Those little squares are just too pretty for words - you're so good at all the details, aren't you?
And as long as it's nine inchies, then a girl's got to be happy eh??!

    What?

  12. Loving your 'Inchies" I am fascinated with the fun things you can create on a small space. Perfect colors for your sister too. I've pinned a lot on my pinterest board for inspiration on my ATC's. I marvel at us crafters. We rearrange a LOT. Have a great week.

  18. Hey!! Inches. I did those a few years back..somebody had a blog thing happening where we did them each week. It was great fun. You just can't believe what you can do with a tiny inch once you get the knack of it.

What's the point in neat and tidy? It usually means you have nothing exciting or interesting happening in my neck of the woods...

  20. Oh how wonderful those inchies are! You are a good sister making blinds for Annie! Well when you rearrange things there is always a mess first! :-) and in fact it doesn't matter - we all like messy!
Thank you for all your comments! I am not often not very good on coming back! Sorry!
    Lots of hugs,

  21. your creative makes are really lovely and it is great you can help Annie by making her Roman blind. Wish I had a Sis
I had to laugh at your comment that one day you will be tidy. That's what I say and when I have a blitz I am tidy..... for just ONE day. I can soon mess it up again! It is staying tidy that is the problem.
    Good luck ,
    Love Jo x
