WOYWW

The camera never lies!

Yes I built a snowman but he is only 6 inches tall and sitting happily on my wheelie bin!
I know - I am totally mad but I thought it would be fun to send a photo of him to Sam and Lexi so they could enjoy him as they didn't have quite as much snow at Nanny Annie's.

Today my desk is scattered with fabric left over from the projects beside the mess.

I decided to make some little collages with random fabric backgrounds and a free machined collage. Then I added a few hand stitches and some buttons and lace etc. I also made a couple of cards whilst the idea was fresh in my mind.

I have certainly been a bit more creative this week although today I am full of a snuffly cold - hope it goes away soon. I have just made some homemade chicken soup so I am sure that will help!

I hope all our WOYWW friends are managing to keep flood free. We are on a hill top so hopefully reasonably safe. However, there is a lot of water in surrounding fields and the flood defences are up in Shrewsbury.

Check out some of our WOYWW desks by linking up over at Julia's Stamping Ground.

Have a good week and keep safe.

x Jo

  4. Oh your litle are pieces of yellow and pink are a delight. I so need some springtime colors and flowers. In fact I think today I'll get out some spring decor and put away the snowmen. Your's is a cutie!! We did get some lasting snow this past weekend. It will help blanket the ground from the terrible cold. So many are having water pipes break down deep in the ground and it is a costly repair.
Enjoy the WOYWW visits and have a fun weekend #53

  9. Beautiful little Spring like collages Jo! Your snowman is so cute and I love his hat and scarf too.
hope the chicken soup (or Jewish Mamma's penicillin) does the trick. It's home made mushroom soup here for us.
The Katie Morag costume is en route to Germany but dash, dang! I forgot to photograph it. However ... now I've got to make one for one of the Brighton Belles.

  13. Great idea, Jo - love the snowman. Living on the coast here we didn't get sufficient to make a snowman - but I did manage sufficient to throw a snowball at hubby!
Those fabric pieces are lovely - well done.
Trust you will soon feel back to normal and up to speed - although your "slow motion" is probably as fast as most of us go on full speed!!
Hmm - defences up at Shrewsbury - I won't go down to Rugby yet then....
    Have a great week.

  16. Beautiful collages.
Weather sucks in the UK at the moment.
Lucky for us we are on a hill and it's just the back garden that keeps flooding.

  17. Lucky you having enough snow and it hanging around long enough to do something fun with! We had about an inch or so, but it went as quickly as it arrived so no time to do anything with it! Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#56)

I'm so happy to know you live on a hill! We've been seeing some pic on tv of the flooding... wow...horrible .... those poor people....

I love all your cute little cards.... I bought some card stock today... only cream... because I do want to try a card or two..and... because I want to try stitching together a little journal...I found a tutorial online... we'll see if I can follow numbers...hahahha

  28. Like you, I am glad to be living on a hill, but feel for those who are not so lucky. The flood defences are holding in Worcestershire, but other areas are flooding due to ground water rising. No matter how much you try to protect, the water has to go somewhere, so it just gets passed down to new areas. I love those flower pictures, really sunny and pretty, a promise of better weather, I hope. Have a good week and I hope you soon feel better. xx Maggie #15

  29. First of all Jo, I hope your cold is running its course and is starting to get better. Horrid things aren't they!
Secondly, love your little snowman. I would never have thought to make a tiny one like that but he is adorable.
Love the cards on your desk, gorgeous flowers, you are so talented.
Hugs & Thanks for earlier visit, sorry I am late - Hugs, Neet xx
