Here's hoping my brother in law doesn't read my blog!!
It's his 60th birthday next week so I have made him a card to take down on Monday.
He is a Shrewsbury Town Footie fan - hence the collage.
I have just written a ditty to go inside but I will leave that as a giggle for Annie next week.
If you want a few more smiles on this chilly Friday (we have snow on the hills here!), then pop over to Annie's "A stitch in time blog" and join in the fun!
Have a great weekend.
Keep cosy and safe.

WOYWW
Just a quick post for today....
My latest little Katie Morag doll is showing off her "dumfed" kilt. You can see another on the table waiting to be finished. She looks so smart doesn't she.
To the right on that lovely little wooden card stand (the wonderful Julia gave it to me to celebrate WOYWW) is a sneaky peek at a card I have just finished. It looks a bit like the canvas I made a week or two ago. I will show it in all its glory next week when it has been shared with the birthday girl.
Well that's it - got to rush - shopping to do and cakes to bake.
I am having some crafting buddies round tomorrow for a "dumfing" day.
If it works well I will roll it out as dumfing workshops - Ha ha - only joking Annie!!!
I have borrowed Annie's embellishing machine so that we can have two machines going as well as our little hand dumfers (no tittering there please!)
I will fill my dining area with all sorts of dumfable wool rovings, yarn and fabric and we will dumf, eat, chat and giggle all day.
I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks to all those who pop in and leave lovely messages.
I will try and visit a few more WOYWW desks this week.

Friday smile
LITTLE JOHNNY STRIKES AGAIN! The teacher asked the class to use the word 'fascinate' in a sentence.
Molly put up her hand and
said, 'My family went to my granddad's farm, and we all saw his pet sheep. It
was fascinating.'
The teacher said, 'That
was good, but I wanted you to use the word 'fascinate, not
fascinating'.
Sally raised her hand.
She said, 'My family went to see Rock City and I was 'fascinated.' The teacher
said, 'Well, that was good Sally, but I wanted you to use the word
'fascinate.'
Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher hesitated because she had been burned by Little Johnny before. She finally decided there was no way he could damage the word 'fascinate', so she called on him.
Johnny said, 'My aunt
Gina has a sweater with ten buttons, but her tits are so big she can only fasten
eight.'
The teacher sat down and cried.
Happy Friday everyone - keep smiling!

WOYWW
I am a bit late posting my WOYWW today.
This is what my table looked like at 9am this morning - a mess - with a few of my little dumfling cards left out for Maxine to see. We decided to have a crafty day together.
I quickly tidied up so that she could enjoy a day dumfing and free machining her pictures.
This is what it looked like later....
This is Max just adding a few final details to her little viola needle-felted and machine stitched collage.
Don't you just love all those yummy colours of wool rovings?!
Short post today as I am enjoying a day with Max and hope to manage a bit of crafty activity myself.
Have a great day - I will be over to check out your desks later.

Happy Valentine's Day and a smile for Friday
Just two pretty lavender hearts for Valentine's Day.
I made them with some soft grey wool check fabric trimmed with pretty vintage baby ribbon and broiderie anglais.
And then a little chuckle for you too....
A nun, badly needing to use to the restroom, walked into a local Hooters.
The place was hopping with music and loud conversation and every once in a while 'the lights would turn off.'
Each time the lights would go out, the place would erupt into cheers.
However, when the revelers saw the nun, the room went dead silent. She walked up to the bartender, and asked, 'May I please use the restroom?
The bartender replied, 'OK, but I should warn you that there is a statue of
a naked man in there wearing only a fig leaf.'
'Well, in that case, I'll just look the other way,' said the nun.
So the bartender showed the nun to the back of the restaurant.
After a few minutes, she came back out, and the whole place stopped just
long enough to give the nun a loud round of applause.
She went to the bartender and said, 'Sir, I don't understand. Why did they applaud for me just because I went to the restroom?'
'Well, now they know you're one of us,' said the bartender, Would you like a drink?'
'No thank you, but, I still don't understand,' said the puzzled nun.
'You see,' laughed the bartender, 'every time someone lifts the fig leaf on
that statue, the lights go out.
Now, how about that drink?

WOYWW
The camera never lies!
Yes I built a snowman but he is only 6 inches tall and sitting happily on my wheelie bin!
I know - I am totally mad but I thought it would be fun to send a photo of him to Sam and Lexi so they could enjoy him as they didn't have quite as much snow at Nanny Annie's.
Today my desk is scattered with fabric left over from the projects beside the mess.
I decided to make some little collages with random fabric backgrounds and a free machined collage. Then I added a few hand stitches and some buttons and lace etc. I also made a couple of cards whilst the idea was fresh in my mind.
I have certainly been a bit more creative this week although today I am full of a snuffly cold - hope it goes away soon. I have just made some homemade chicken soup so I am sure that will help!
I hope all our WOYWW friends are managing to keep flood free. We are on a hill top so hopefully reasonably safe. However, there is a lot of water in surrounding fields and the flood defences are up in Shrewsbury.
Check out some of our WOYWW desks by linking up over at Julia's Stamping Ground.
Have a good week and keep safe.
