WOYWW

The evening sun was streaming through my window so I snapped a quick pic of the mayhem on my table....

  • half made dollies - some in the box and some on the window sill
  • an idea for a pretty pincuchion made from crazy quilting
  • wool waiting to made into dollies hair
  • scraps of sheer fabric with my practice - tiny hems - ready for when I tackle the wedding dress. It's ages since I have done any very fine sewing - I felt I needed to practice before I launched into the real thing!! Of course my very clever little seamstress sister was on hand with excellent advice so I am sure all will be well when I get round to doing it. Max came over on Monday and we had a trying on session. She will make a beautiful bride I am sure.
  • PS - only shortening the dress - not making it from scratch!!!!
Do have a good snoop and then join in the blog hop fun over with the lovely Julia at her Stamping Ground.

OK folks - I am off to tackle the frock - I may be gone for some time!!

Have fun and thanks for calling by.

x Jo

  4. Glad it is you and not me making that dress or the poor bride would probably loose it on her way down the isle as the seams fell apart! Sewing is not my line of expertise! #45

  5. Good luck with your mega challenge!!! My sister made my wedding dress and even though the marriage failed, I kept the dress in her memory (as she passed away 15 years ago). Love the desk in the sunshine - had almost forgotten what that was! Helen, 4

  8. My desk is right next to my window- late evening sunshine- yes actual sunshine - yesterday told me two things. One, I need a blind, and two, my windows need cleaning! Which involves moving the desk. Didn't think this through very well when I laid it out. Love your dolly watchers, really cool.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz.xx

  11. Lovely dollies Jo - and bravo for tackling the wedding dress. Keep us posted on progress - and hope there are some happy pictures of the event when the results can be fully shown. Am sure it's gonna be just beautiful.

Ahem, I thought the knickers duster was rather suitable to protect my hair whilst doing housework? It fits too :))

    Hugs and Happy WOYWW.

  13. Best of luck with the dress. Did you catch the Great British Sewing Bee on BBC2 last night? It made me think of a few WOYWWers and how they'd fair (you'd do pretty well I think!)
    Happy WOYWW

  14. Of course Max will make a beautiful bride. All brides are beautiful. I don't envy with a fine hem to sew though. I love all the little dollies. It reminds of when my second son was tiny. I made him a rag doll and he carried everywhere, tucked under his arm, until it's neck wore out beyond repair At least it was loved! have a great week. I hope the sun shines for you again. Kate x

  16. It’s an invasion….it looks like you’re being overrun by all those little dolls Jo, I bet you could make them in your sleep now.
I think you’re brave to tackle the wedding dress but I’m sure you’ll do a wonderful job, as you do with everything you make.
    Happy Hemming!

  19. looks so warm and inviting in thee ....and lucky you...what a view! I saw it on the previous post ..with little bun....

I think I will try to figure out how to make a pincushion using the whites and laces and sort of the way we are piecing our cloths with the class I'm doing. I have no idea how to put anything together so it will be a bit of trial and error til I figure it out... and it will be hand done... hahhaha... cuz I'll never figure out the way to do it with a machine I'm sure... well, maybe I will...never say never hey?!

  25. Do you two sisters have more than 24 hours in each day? - you just seem to achieve so much. Well done - the desk looks fun and busy. Be blessed as you see to the wedding dress.

  30. Oooh! how on earth did I miss that Max is getting married! Lovely news and something good to look forward to.!
Just browsing for a few spare minutes before we leave for Holland. It's been hectic here with having the family here and being ill and prepping for the show that I must apaologise to you and Annie that I haven't managed to blog your lovely quilts. Back to normality when I get back next week!
